Offshore Maintenance Technician – Electrical


Purpose
To safely and efficiently maintain all SPDC offshore facilities’ operational plant and equipment on the FPSO’s, to satisfy the technical integrity targets and ensure that all electrical equipment is operated within design limits.
To participate in the SPDC Competence Assurance Scheme and achieve
pre-determined electrical competence levels.
Networks with
Senior Electrical Technician, Offshore Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Planners, Operations Team, Logistics and Warehouse, Capability Management Team, OEM Vendor Representatives.

Accountabilities
• Comply with safe work practices and procedures, and participate to ensure a safe working environment
• Carry out emergency role (if required) as defined in the Emergency
Response Plan
• Maintain work history and input to the maintenance management system
• Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks in accordance with the weekly, 14-day and 28-day plans
• Provide updated and technical information for all maintained plant and equipment
• Participate in toolbox talks and regular safety meetings
• Provide dedicated support to the Operations Department during startup and shutdown of the plant
• Ensure safe and efficient maintenance operations at all times

Supports the following operations Sea Eagle:
• FPSOs: 1
• Offshore platforms etc: 4

Special Challenges
• To contribute to the maintenance of one of the largest FPSO’s in the world in line with budgetary control and minimum manning principles.

• The FPSOs have been designed with high intrinsic reliability machinery working relatively straightforward production processes. With little spare equipment, the challenge will be to raise and maintain the facility uptime to its design limits

Technical Competencies

Experience and Qualification Required
1. ONC/OND level or equivalent qualifications in electrical or multi-disciplinary engineering and trade certification are essential.
2.The ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures, report the effects of failures, and assist to provide solutions to remedy the problems.
3.Knowledge of oil separation and gas compression processes.
4.Knowledge of power generation systems.
5.Must be capable of carrying out remedial and routine maintenance associated with power generation facilities, low voltage switchgear, low voltage motors and transformers, normal and emergency lighting systems, trace heating systems, electrical equipment associated with HVAC systems, battery chargers, inverters and battery systems and hazardous area equipment.

I don't expect the next stage to be any form of test. With the one I'm conversant with, a kind of interview (called an Assessment Centre) followed the SHL. BUT the SHL was preceeded by a test so I cannot really say now for u guys

Use dem to sharpen your skill. Try out the questions in an exam situation. Mark yourself using the solutions and understand how the solutions where gotten. If you find you are doing very long steps to solve any question then you should stop. Read the solution and see how they have cut out really long steps. Don't forget to look at data checking as well as mechanical reasoning. Very important for you potential technicians. Also don't overlook Verbal reasoning. I found them very tricky. Wish you all the very best. And like they say if u get this job just know that you life will be changed forever

Most times, our android phones and tablets tend to develop lagging issues which are caused as a result of bugs that may have been contacted through the sites we visit and so on.
Now, you would want to format your phone using the easy method by going to settings, then proceeding to factory settings to restore your phone back to its factory settings. Doing that would lead to loss of all data including phone numbers, messages, music, pictures, videos and other important data stored on the internal storage of the device.

Let's get right to it...

* Backup of files in the internal storage: You would need an SD card that has a lot of memory space, it can be that of 8gb,16gb or 32gb depending on the size of the internal storage. It should contain a lot of free space, preferably it can be empty. It should then be inserted into the device, then you proceed to storage, then enter the internal storage where most data are contained, you are now to mark all the folders and move them to the SD card, in doing this, you would be able to save all data that contains your music, pictures, whatsapp messages, etc.

* Phone contacts & messages: This tend to be the major reason why people do not want to format their phones. Well, your worry is over... To preserve your info, you'll need to download an app from playstore called SMS backup and restore, which you'll install on your device that would enable you backup your your phone logs and messages in both your mail and file storage. This would enable you restore them back to the device after the format occurs. You can also preferably move all your contacts to the SIM cards present in the device. lalasticlala, pictures are attached below...
