Comique: Hello House, I applied for an emergency appointment and I have been scheduled for 13th Nov, I got an email and I was told to print the email as that will serve as my invitation...my question is do I still need to fill anything on the regular appointment webpage?? People who have gone through this procedure would respond to you soon, I believe. Please what date precisely did you apply? And where, Abuja or Lagos? |

Philtos: Hi where did you apply for the emergency appointment, please? Abuja Embassy. You’ll have to schedule a regular appointment first before you can apply for an expedited appointment, and you’ll need to attach your I20, Sevis fee payment receipt and maybe the normal appointment confirmation. You’ll see the option at the top left corner of the page you scheduled the normal appointment. |

Ftos: Are you within 60 days to the start of your program? I’m not, but since the available date is way beyond start of my program, I decided to apply nevertheless. Besides, zeelady says it doesn’t matter whether you’re within 60 days to the start of your program or not. |

zeeLady: So for those asking if Abuja embassy is granting emergency VISA appointment even if you are not within the stipulated 60 days of your start date, the answer is YES. YES.
Go and book the normal 2021 date you see there, Then the option for emergency appointment will pop up for you, fill the form and include your reasons for wanting emergency appointment, Attach your 1-20 Attach your SEVIS payment receipt Submit They will get back to you within days The earliest I just booked for someone was Nov 23rd. Goodluck! Please I have already filled an emergency appointment request form for Lagos with no response yet, can I still go ahead and request for another emergency appointment here in Abuja? |

In my case, it was like 4-5 days more before u received the document Alright, thanks for the assurance. I guess I just have to be patient as well. |

Please gurus in the house, I have an issue with my I20 shipment. It’s already in Lagos and I’m in Abuja but I got a mail from UPS today saying my package is experiencing delays because they’re awaiting payment authorization from the receiver. Has anyone encountered this kind of issue before and please how was it rectified? |

Cocao: I think the fund is too small. You dont have any funding from the school and you can only show just a teeny little over one year's estimate. Do you think its enough to convince a consular? Secondly, who is your sponspor? If it is uncle or other relation, how do you justify an uncle giving you all the money in his account for studying? Please mull over these Please I sent you a PM. |

BGodsonMay: Good day house! I've been follower of this thread and I must say that it has been educating, all thanks to everyone of you contributing his/her little idea. I'm awaiting my interview appointment at Lagos consulate. In the meantime, I'm kinda confused about the amount of money available in my sponsor's SOA although it was approved by my school.
The total estimated average cost is $25,219 While the available balance on my sponsor's SOA is $27,880. I don't have any scholarship. Please what are my chances at the interview with this funding?? Or do I have to print an updated SOA showing a higher available balance even if it's not going to reflect on my i-20 since I've received it already??
Suggestions please. Thanks and God bless Someone should please kindly help address this question. |

Babatill2023: Visa Approved.
My interview was by 8:00m but I got there by 5:29am. I met 6 people there already waiting and I joined them. When it was some minutes to 6am,a woman asked us why came this early and we told her some of us had appointment by 6am,she was so shocked. She said she was expecting 7am as the earliest time for appointments. So,she took her time before she started attending to us. We were asked to line up and we did security check before we started going inside the building in 5. The V.O denied the first two ladies. They were married and working. Only one came with her kid. The 6 people that followed were given. Two were going for undergraduate, one PhD and 3 masters. Three have started their courses online. I was the 9th person that was attended to. V.O :- Good morning Me:- Good morning (I passed my passport,I-20 and SEVIS fee confirmation page). V.O:- Where are you going? Me:- I am going to Georgia state university for my master's degree in Chemistry. V.O:- Why this school? Me:- The university has a strong reputation for research, innovation and diversity, I believe it would be an exciting place to be as I would be offered varieties in (he cuts me) V.O:- Tell me things I can not find on the school website. You are telling me things you crammed from the school website Me:-( Looking at him without saying anything because I was so confused) V.O:- How many schools did you apply to? Me:- Six V.O:- Name them Me:- Marquette university,Texas Tech, Bowling Green, Auburn university,Ohio university and GSU. V.O:- Did Marquette give you admission? Me:- No V.O:- What about Auburn and others? Me:- Only GSU gave me admission. V.O:- oooooh I see, Which University did you finish from? Me:- Federal University of Technology Minna. V.O:- Who will pay for your deficit ($15,000) Me:- My brother V.O:- What does he do? Me:- He has big store where be sells food stuffs and provisions in wholesale and also.has trucks for transportation business. V.O:- Okay(types for some minutes). I intend to approve your visa,we are having problems with our reciprocity fee payment, you will have to come back tomorrow to pay it. Thank you Me:- You are welcome ( I was shocked when he told me thank you,I said you are welcome in reflex). He didn't ask me for any documents. Solihp and Iwriteng,I am joining you guys. Congrats and good luck in your studies. Please does the statement of account you presented have up to twice the amount of your deficit? Or just a little above it |

Walspring: I advise you follow your mind and spirit ooo
Come thinking of it, imagine the stress of going to Lagos if you are to pick Lagos and compare to abuja where you reside.
What part of abuja do you stay ?
Just follow your mind Thanks for you input. I don’t think I’ll have a problem with going to Lagos if there’s a better chance of getting an emergency interview date there. I stay around Lugbe. |

Walspring: You can’t unless you cancel the appointment first and then start the application afresh where you will have to pick a new location either abuja or Lagos.
In one word is not possible because you will lose the date your picked before. Okay, thanks. So where do you advise I chose, I’m expected to resume by Spring 2021 and I reside in Abuja. I’m only worried with the fact that there are no dates available in Abuja (as posted by people here) before January. |
