For those resuming in Spring 2021 only:

Students should send an email to LagosNIV@state.gov requesting an appointment for an F-1 student visa interview. The consular staff will simply add you to their mailing list and send you updates when appointment dates are open again. You will be the first to know.
Please does this apply to those who haven’t even applied for the I20 form from their school but are supposed to resume by Spring?

You can get it certified in a court by a notary public at about 50 or 100 or 200 naira per page, depending on the location. I did mine at customary Court of appeal Enugu at 50 naira per copy.

Secondly, after getting it done, you may beg your institution to add the Certified documents to your transcripts when they are sending it. I don't know if this will be possible. I just think it would reduce cost of shipping for you.
Hi, I certified mine at the Ministry of Education and Foreign affairs in Abuja, is that still in order?

Thank you for the help so far.

I got a PhD admission to MCB at Ohio University with full tuition waiver and teaching assistantship. My i-20 came in last week and there was no deficit. However, I was asked to hold $2k for initial survival.
Stated on the i-20, program starts August 12, 2020
Class begins August 24, 2020
Earliest admission date: july 13, 2020.

MY ENQUIRIES:
1. Can I go ahead and pay my SEVIS fee now? Who can you refer to help me with making the payment in USA?

2. Should I go ahead and make my Visa payment and pick an appointment date now? Won't it be too early considering that August is the resumption. If not, when will be the right time to apply?

Thank you

Hello Oracle, please how long after you got your admission notification did your offer for teaching Assistantship came?

Good afternoon house, please I’ll like to know if it’s advisable for me to send my Bsc transcripts by myself as my school (ABU, Zaria) is fond of sending them late (up to 2-3months). The last time I sent transcripts for my Msc, I collected a sealed copy and sent it by myself via DHL using the registrar as the sender and it was duly received.
Please what do you think? I’m sending to University of Georgia.

Good morning everyone, I was surfing the net to seek information about studying in the US and remembered Nairaland is always a good place for such.
I just received an offer of admission for my PhD at University of Georgia 2days ago and I’ve commenced the procedures to get my transcripts sent to the school. I was a bit worried before I stumbled on this thread as regards the Visa ban issue and other Nigerian factors, now I’m assured that there are capable people who would be willing to assist me in this academic journey. I dunno who to direct this message to but I hope this family will accept me, I’m glad to be here.

I’m hoping my application for GA will be accepted as I’m still expectant. You guys will assist me in this journey as I’m like a novice in all these. Thanks

God Bless this Op. It is disheartening seeing the way our league development has been extremely slow. To me I still believe the major problems lie with the LMC, you’ll realize that they have some policies in place, but ensuring that club sides adhere to its provision is the problem.

A lot of things are wrong with the league, the fans also have a share of the blame. I heard most of them don't pay to watch matches live in the stadium. They have ways of wriggling themselves in. Lets not talk about crowd violence, they need to know that it's not their teams birth right to win at home. Even referees are scared to award a visiting team penalty because of crowd violence. It will take a lot of work before the league gets attractive to sponsors
People (fans) will always misbehave when there are no rules and regulations; there are certain safety measures you take before a match but our club sides tend to ignore them. The LMC have a lot to do in ensuring these measures are strictly adhered to.
And on the part of the Referees, the bribes they’ve accepted will not make them make fair calls, sometimes I don’t feel sorry for them when assaulted.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Violence Ahead Of Cameroon’s Presidential Election, As 25,000 Flee To Nigeria by jhidey08(m): 8:41am On Dec 22, 2018

Cameroonian political parties have crisscrossed the country ahead of the presidential elections on Sunday. Except for one candidate, no one has been able to organize campaigns in the restive Anglophone regions.
Eight candidates representing a string of opposition parties are vying to oust 85-year-old incumbent President Paul Biya, who has ruled Cameroon since 1982 and is also seeking a seventh term.
But unrest in most parts of the country has triggered a serious refugee crisis, forcing thousands of residents to flee to neighboring Nigeria.
On Thursday, President Paul Biya’s campaign team came under gun fire as their convoy was driving top speed through the main highway into Buea, capital of the English-speaking southwest region.
Several supporters of the ruling CPDM party were injured in the gunfire exchange between government troops and armed separatists. Biya himself was not part of the Buea campaign convoy. One of Biya’s party official Gerald Ngalla told DW that “the president was worried that his presence in Buea could lead to further bloodshed.”
Credible elections “impossible”
Prince Ekosso, head of the United Socialist Democratic Party, believes the election will be flawed. “It is impossible for credible elections to take place in the northwest and the southwest,” Ekosso said.
Ekosso’s party, which had maintained a traditional support base in the south, could not hold any rally in the restive region, due to threats by the separatists, who have vowed to stop the elections in the Anglophone areas. “As a matter of fact, the towns and cities of the northwest and the southwest have been deserted,” Ekosso said.
He added that: “It’s already late now for anything to be done for free and fair elections to take place in the two regions.”
Opposition candidates have also been avoiding the restive regions too. FDP candidate Akere Muna was travelling through the English-speaking town of Mutengene and was chased by angry protesters. Four civilians were killed.
Last week, eight CPDM supporters who were planning a campaign rally in Bamenda were kidnapped from a hotel and have not been seen since then.

Around 246,000 people have been displaced in the southwest, according to the UN, while no estimate exists for the northwest region which is largely inaccessible to aid groups and journalists.
Some 25,000 others are sheltering in neighboring Nigeria, according to the UN. In the face of continuing clashes, a surge of troops is planned, according to a senior official.
Elecam has also said that some polling stations will be “relocated” in the Anglophone region which has traditionally been a reliable well of votes for the main opposition Social Democratic Front (SDF) whose candidate is Joshua Osih.
He has described the planned “relocations” in interviews as “an illegal measure” that could damage his chances.

OMG, dropping Ola Aina is totally unfair, this is the guy that has England future, but he chosed to play for Nigeria, Plus he is very good attacking and can dribble. Let the coach explain to us why Echiejile and Idowu are better than him.
the fact that he decided to represent Nigeria instead of England doesn't give him an automatic ticket to the World Cup. It's only Echiejile he can challenge in that defence, and the Coach might have picked Echiejile over him cos of experience.
