Christianity EtcScientists Could Be On The Verge Of Finding Jesus Christ’s DNA by jidxin(op): 7:05pm On Apr 16, 2017
Could we actually track down the DNA of Jesus of Nazareth? It sounds like something out of science fiction.

But several scientists are pursuing research which could lead to the DNA of Jesus.

George Busby of the University of Oxford worked on a History Channel documentary called ‘The Jesus Strand’, which premiered today (Sunday, April 16).

Writing for The Conversation, Busby said, “In 2010, Kasimir Popkonstantinov discovered what he believes are the bones of one of the most famous of all saints: John the Baptist. I was interested in what DNA analysis could tell us about these bones, and other ones.

“When Kasimir later opened the reliquary, he found five bone fragments. The epitaph on the smaller box, probably used to carry the bones when travelling, was the key piece of evidence that led him to believe that the bones could perhaps be those of John the Baptist.

“The finding is hugely important, partly because John the Baptist was both a disciple of Jesus and his cousin – meaning they would share DNA.”

Busby says that it’s still not clear that the DNA is from John the Baptist – but he spoke with other scientists who have extracted several different DNA samples from the Turin Shroud.

Another team is working to extract DNA from the James Ossuary, a first century chalk box which may have held the bones of Jesus’ brother.

Busby says, “Let’s assume for a moment that contamination could be completely ruled out and that DNA analysis demonstrated that DNA from the Shroud was a familial match to DNA from the James Ossuary – and that they are both related to the Bulgarian bones.

“Could this then have been the DNA of Jesus and his family?”

I see..

If she is an English speaking lady and does not just want big grammar from you and does not want to talk about such topics.. Then you should be asking yourself what you really want from her...

Because I believe that, that is her kind of person.. (there are ladies who really don't want to talk about such big dreams, politics, news, and serious stuff and are just interested in going to school, getting a job, getting married, bearing children, and going to heaven)... that is all they want from life...

If you are looking for a lady who could possibly talk to you about these stuff then you need to find another lady...

But this doesn't mean she is not intelligent, because she could possibly give great advice.... so just try to understand the lady you are dating and really ask yourself what you want and why you want it from her...

Because she does not talk about topical stuff doesn't mean she is not intelligent, ask her questions relating to her life issues and what big hopes she has for the future... ask her how she could find money to invest in you if you need such for a business... All these kind of questions bring out the intelligence in women...

On another note you can find out from her friends how she is truly like.. if she talks intelligent stuff or only likes to gossip and blabber pidgin... or if she is actually intelligent, but wants to discuss sexy and funny stuff with her lover only..

Go deeper and find out more, make no hasty conclusions, because you might be living with this woman for the rest of your life and she will bore you children..

PoliticsNigeria Re-elected Chair, UN Peacekeeping Committee For The 45th Time by jidxin(op): 12:05pm On Apr 13, 2017
Nigeria has been re-elected, for the 45th time, to chair the UN Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations, regarded as UN’s most strategic committee.

The UN Correspondent of NAN reports that Nigeria was re-elected in spite of some hesitations by some countries to let Nigeria continue to lead the most critical committee.

Nigeria has chaired the special committee on peacekeeping operations from 1972 till date.

Over the years, some Member States have covertly expressed their reservations over the rare honour accorded to Nigeria, especially in view of its declining participation in UN peacekeeping operations.

The election was conducted by the Under-Secretary-General for the Department of Peacekeeping Operations, Mr Herve Ladsous and the Chef de Cabinet of the UN Secretary-General, Ms Maria Viotti.

Nigeria was elected by acclamation.

Others elected are: Argentina, First Vice Chair; Canada, Second Vice Chair; Japan, Third Vice Chair; Poland, Fourth Vice-Chair; and Egypt, Rapporteur.

Nigeria is the 14th largest troops contributing nation to UN Peacekeeping operations and eighth in Africa, according to the last data published by the UN Peacekeeping Department.

The data showed that Nigeria contributed 2,170 peacekeeping personnel in 2016, made up of 403 policemen, 46 military experts and 1, 721 troops, out of which 232 were females.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, after the election, congratulated Nigeria on its re-election as well as other members of the committee.

“I offer best wishes to all the members of the Committee as you identify a way forward at this critical time for international peace and security.

“Peacekeeping is a partnership in which Member States deploy their political will, financial resources, military and police capabilities.

“Above all, Member States put the lives of their citizens on the line to transform conflict into sustainable peace,” Guterres, represented by Viotti, said.

“As the nature of conflict changes and we face new challenges such as asymmetric threats, transnational crime and the expanding reach of terrorists and extremists, the structures and practices designed even 10 years ago are not always keeping pace.

“The United Nations has to be more nimble, pragmatic and flexible in its ability to plan, launch and manage a more diverse range of operations,” the Secretary-General added.

He urged the committee to consider carefully the recommendation of the 2015 peace and security review, echoed in Security Council resolution 2242, to surpass the current three per cent participation of women peacekeepers.

On his part, Ladsous, the Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, stressed the need to adapt peacekeeping operations to the changing global context.

After the re-election, Nigeria introduced two new paragraphs for adoption into the 2017 report.

The first was on the impact of illicit financial flows on resource mobilization and sustainable development, with a call for a return of proceeds of such flows to their countries of origin.

The second took note of the Donald Kaberuka report on options for funding AU peace support operations authorized by the Security Council.

The two texts were adopted alongside other major recommendations.

The Special Committee was established by General Assembly resolution 2006 (XIX) of Feb. 18, 1965, to conduct a comprehensive review of all issues relating to peacekeeping.

It is comprises 147 Member States, mostly past or current contributors to peacekeeping operations, while 14 other Member States, intergovernmental organizations and entities, including AU and Interpol are observers.

PropertiesRe: Who Can Sue In Trespass To Land by jidxin(m): 8:15am On Apr 11, 2017
PropertiesNaija:
Trespass to land arises where the plaintiff alleges that the defendant has intentionally entered or stayed in or caused some objects to come into contact with the land in possession of the plaintiff. The aim of this aspect of law is to protect the plaintiff's possessory interest in the land. The tort of trespass to land is actionable per se (No need for proof of actual damage). There are five (5) types or trespass to land:

(a) Trespass by remaining on land
This form of trespass is committed when the defendant remains on the land of the plaintiff after his right of entry has ceased. For example, a person, invited by you for a party in your house may become a trespasser after being told to leave and he refuses.

(b) Trespass by wrongful entry
This consist of a personal entry on the plaintiff's land by the defendant. The slightest crossing of boundary such as when an aggressor walks into the plaintiff's premises, or drives into it. Intention is key here, as the defendant will not be liable for accidental entries.

(c) Trespass by placing object on land
When a person wrongly enters and places an object on another's land, he will be liable for trespass. If after the action, the defendant leaves the object on the land, the plaintiff can sue again for continuing trespass, so long the object remains on the land. For example, where land grabbers sell a parcel of land belonging to Mr. A to another person who goes on to build structures on it..Without the consent of Mr. A (the title owner).

(d) Trespass ab initio
Here, the defendant's entry was by lawful authority but must have subsequently abused that right by doing an unlawful act. Examples are PHCN officers entering your compound to pluck fruits, or police officers with search warrants carting away things not in the warrant. Although, the effect of this has been whittled down, it would be deemed that violation done would be measured by the degree of damages done.

(e) Trespass above and below land
The person which owns the land also owns the sky above it and the sub-soil beneath. If a billboard from a neighbour's compound encroaches your land by hanging on top, an action can be brought in this regard, notwithstanding that it did not touch the actual land itself.

WHO CAN SUE..
A landlord who has already given up a right to possession cannot bring an action for trespass as the tenant is the person who has possession, but he (landlord) may sue to protect his reversionary interests. The plaintiff must be in actual or de facto possession.
Example is, a tenant whose tenancy has expired and has been given a notice to quit becomes a trespasser after the expiration of the notice but since he is still in possession, he can bring up an action against another person for trespass, except the title owner (landlord) or a person who has exclusive possession.

The most important thing is for the landlord to have good title to his land, otherwise, his claim may fail. This is why it is pertinent involve legal practitioners in land transactions, and also to deal with real estate firms with professional handlings.

bros I ddnt get u well.... a landord can bring an action so long he still remains in ownership of such land nd he might not be in actual possession. i stand to be corrected tho a landlord that has given up possession can still sue for trespass
