listen up young man. If you once used to have that fear about hell and also about the terror of God. Then that was the Spirit of God trying to let you know how awful it is for believers to commit sin and take it lightly. GOD hates sin and will never allow it to go unpunished. So a christian to be in fear and trembling always means he reasons with God how terrible sin is.
Now you say youre living in liberty right? Things of eternity dont bother you again, you commit sin and you treat it lightly. Then if so youre truly liberated from the gospel back to darkness. REPENT AND BE RESTORED

Amen! i also had similar experience. And true nothing can be more depressing than hearing those tales of heaven and hell. It made me almost despair in Christ cos i was a victim too, but God who will not allow his children remain on the way of error intervened greatly and i was liberated. I now understand the perfect work of Christ on the cross.

Romans 5:17
We look at the verses on the OT with the eyes of the NT, in the lens\revelation of the finished works of Christ. A nation is literally a geographical location but people makes a nation. Notice the interchanged words between "nation" and "people" in the opening verse. Believers & Christians are also called holy "nations" also, 1 Peter 2:9. So, we understand a nation is the people.
Righteousness that is imputed by faith in the finished works of the Son God is an authoritative gift. Scripture says, "they which receive this gift of righteousness".....shall reign in life, by Jesus. wow! This is the wonders of the Grace of God - that He will declare sinners righteous by faith in the Son God. This is the righteousness that will exalt you as Christians\believers in Christ and cause you to reign in life. Many Christians are seeking to do their own righteousness and neglect the righteousness of God as a gift. Just as no good works could make us good in the eyes of God but good works that is produced out of God's goodness. Our righteousness is like a filthy rag in the eyes of God. The righteousness that God imputes, is the gift of the Father - it causes you to reign in life.
Righteousness was also put side-by-side with sin in Proverbs 14:34. Sin have its consequences but many Christians think sin can unfinish the finished works of Christ as regards imputed righteousness. Sin will bring a shame, reproach and disgrace to God's people but it does not take away the gift of God else, scriptures will be broken. Scripture says, the GIFT and calling of God is without repentance and righteousness IS A GIFT OF GOD.
Sin is a matter of Slavery and Master. Paul, the great Apostle of faith, dedicated the whole of Romans 6 to unveil the submissiveness to sin in a slavery and master analogy. A Christian who received the gift of righteousness has submitted to the Master of Christ which in turns produce righteous living. We do no longer answer and submit to sin under slavery no more neither should we answer to its call or mastership. Scripture says, you're dead to sin...in Christ, that is, through the body of Christ on the Cross. The cross kills the sinner & sin urges in us just as it killed Christ who knew no sin but became the sinner for our redemptive process.

The sermon on the mount took many dimensions and one of such is the statement above. The religious church had given many interpretations to this verse by our Lord and we had been taught to do something as requirements to getting "all these things" which shall be added unto us. They had taught us to come to church more, join one unit or more in the church, pray more, fast more, give alms more, attend more religious functions\programs\conventions, go to the mountain more etc. All of these things are good but are they in the context of "...God and his righteousness"? Is the Lord saying this "seeking" should be done as a requirement\demand or as in order to find out something by thinking, meditating, reasoning, to enquire into, aim at, strive after? We shall continue and find out.
Christ is the mediator of the new testament and such, all new testament teachings by the Apostles are revelations of Christ messages after His finished works and Christ revealed truth of most of His messages\teachings to them most things meant in His teachings. Luke 24:27, Ephesians 3:1-5.
Christ's audience at this time of the above statement were the Jews who are under the regulations of the Mosaic law. One of the missions of Christ was that, he was sent to save and\or to redeem his people (the Jewish) from their sins, specifically talking about the Jews who at this time was under the law (Matthew 1:21, Galatians 4:4-5) and so, his teachings was radical towards redeeming these people who are soaked in the law of Moses. Over the time, they (the Jews) have established their own righteousness which is different from God righteousness that Christ in our opening text called "and his righteousness". So, what do we have going on here: there's righteousness that the Jewish people established for themselves geared towards doing something towards making themselves right with God and there is God's own righteousness (kingdom of God AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS) of how He makes people right with Himself.

I put in it in my own words (translation):
The Just (those who have been justified\declared righteous) shall continue to live by faith (because they were justified\declared righteous by faith in the first place; from beginning to ending, not by works of the law).
We have seen many scriptures telling us our justification was by our faith in the resurrection by which we're justified in the finished works of Christ, not by obeying or going back into laws, rules, regulations, self efforts and performance. This justification is a complete package of Christ's finished works and affects every area in the life of believers, not just some areas.

Many people think this verse is talking about backsliding. The book of Hebrews was written to correct mixture of faith with the old ways of the law. "If any man draw back" is a reference to returning to self efforts, performance and obedience to the law instead of living by faith of the Son of God that justified us in the first place. This is the same as with the Galatians, they were justified by faith but false teachers captured the young converts and trying to make them live or return to obedience to the law to keep their justification. But the Apostle of faith, refuted such heresy saying:

As I make a statement like this in the title of the thread, the first thing that comes to the mind of common and\or traditional Christian is that, we want to endorse a "continuous" sinful lifestyle. Far from such! On the contrary, we teach the message of the finished works of Christ, which is the message of the Cross and of the new covenant.
I often hear many people say God God is punishing them for their sins while they go through problems in life. Some, from the pulpit also preach God still punishing believers in Christ for their sins etc. Such messages and opinions contradicts the finished works of Christ, which is part of the inheritance of believers under the new testament - God is not punishing you for your sins, you are only reaping what you sow! Now, let's see what scriptures have to say:

All the sins of believers, past, present and future are all forgiven in Christ, once and for all times. This is what is meant by the finished works of Christ. It was done once and what is done once applies to the past, present and to the future. In other words, if God punished our sins on Christ, of what use is God still punishing the same sin on us the second time? As an earthly father, I can't say I forgive my son and then turn around to punish him for the same sin I told him he's forgiven of. How much more our heavenly Father! Matthew 7:11 . This is the loving nature of God, our Father!

Our actions are seeds sown into the soil of life. For instance, when a Christian commits abortion and in the process, the womb was damaged and she can't reproduce anymore. God is not the one punishing you for such sin because you're already forgiven but the seed you've sown has now germinated and you're reaping what you sow.
Similarly, a young Christian girl, you sleeping around with a married man. You forget you sowing to the flesh and when you reap corruption in the flesh, another woman sleeps with your husband and you say, God is the one punishing you for your sins? No, you're only reaping what you've sown to the flesh.
The same goes to a Christian who steals or commit any sin against the laws of the land, you will face the consequences of such theft. That's not God punishing you, you're reaping a reward for your mis-conduct. You will reap what you sow is a way by which God allows discipline for our mis-conduct acts and God allowing discipline is different from God punishing our sins on us - This is the Justice nature of God, our Father!

As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? If God doesn't discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children at all. Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn't we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever? For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God's discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. Have you ever seen someone dressed in long apparels to cover all form of unclothedness? There is that dress code that forbids earrings, necklaces and even braided hair to portray Godly religion. Well, that’s not all wrong but they are not the requirements for heaven as I earlier thought.
There is simply a difference between Christianity as A religion and Christianity as a reality
It is bad in itself however when people simply live without understanding and even in their ignorance judge and condemn others wrongly. And today, while some had gone to an extreme where they preach religion and the struggle to please God in self righteousness as the requirements for heaven, others on the other extreme are very careless about the things of God and simply live their lives in a way that seems right to them, neglecting and despising the Grace of God given freely to them.
May I announce to you the good news brethren. The good news is that “Man has been an enemy to God from the time Adam sinned but Jesus had come and died and paid our price in order to reconcile us back to God” and as many as would receive Jesus and accept Him as their Lord and savior will be saved and has eternal life but as many as would not no matter how righteous they are are condemned and reserved for hell with devil for Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE (The ONLY one). There is no sentiment about it. It is not our righteousness that makes us acceptable before God but the righteousness Jesus had earned us. That does not mean we are encouraged to behave any how we like after giving our lives to Christ. Rather, the grace of God upon us can help us live right as we would not have been able prior to our repentance.

Who is that person that is afraid of God as though God is a taskmaster? Please, God is a loving and is always calling us to come unto him, even though we are feeling condemned in sin (Isaiah 1:18). The truth is: It is not God that condemns us but our conscience.
Do you know that Jesus paid for your past, present and future sins? That does not mean we should abuse God’s grace and live anyhow (Rom 5:1). Rather, this realization should make us love us God and obey him out of appreciation and pure love and as such, learn how to approach him boldly as our father even if we find ourselves in a mess. He is ever ready to have us back.
And for my catholic brethren and every other person who still wishes there are certain requirements needed to be done to reach God, Please know that Jesus had done everything that is needed. I love you dearly and I cherish your zeal. So, with a sincere heart, I want to announce to you that God has broken the barrier that that held us before from meeting him. Today, you do not need to go through a priest again like in the old covenant before God can forgive your sins. By saying “our father” Jesus is teaching us all to see God in a personal relationship and as a father we all can approach through Jesus. Also, you do not need to intercede through Mary because that is the work of Jesus according to I John 2:1
Mary is in heaven rejoicing like other saints and I crave your indulgence with humility that no saint is worth to be venerated. It is religion (I didn’t say it will lead you to hell though)
Share the good news. We are in the time of Grace and not law and the gospel is supposed to always make us happy, not sad because it is called “Good News” Rejoice in your salvation and do well to daily reconcile men to God through Jesus by evangelism.
On the talk about religion, I have really met some people who had never missed ‘mass’ and who squeeze face when they meet people in the church as a sign that they are under the influence of the Holy Spirit. I have met some folks who religiously serve mass but while on the pulpit, they are selecting girls they will defile with their eyes. I have met boys who do not talk to girls to avoid defiling themselves but inside, they are ravaged by homosexuality and masturbation. Understand that I am not trying to judge anybody but I am simply saying that we should drop aside all these religious shenanigans and open up to God the way we are and allow him to use. True religion is simply far from striving to please humans whereas we are not at home with God, our father. While we all strive to please God rather, let us have in mind that the Lord is coming sooner than we expect. Let us get ready for Him and let us share the good news to our neighbours, especially our Muslim brethren.
Do it now! Don’t procrastinate! The signs are everywhere! Tomorrow may be too late! I wonder how you will feel to see your friend in hell while you are in heaven.

Was Paul writing to believers in Christ or to unbelievers in Gal.5:19-21?

Any teaching or rhema (revelation) that contradicts the scriptures should be discarded, no matter who teaches it.
