North Koreans have been banned from laughing or drinking or showing any sign of happiness for 11 days to mark the tenth anniversary of former leader Kim Jong Il’s death.

He ruled North Korea from 1994 until his death in 2011, and was succeeded by his third and youngest son, Kim Jong Un.

According to DailyMail, a North Korean from the northeastern border city of Sinuiju was quoted to have told Radio Free Asia (RFA), “During the mourning period, we must not drink alcohol, laugh or engage in leisure activities.”

There’s more fallout for Travis Scott in the wake of the deadly crowd surge at his Astroworld Festival in Houston in November that resulted in 10 people being killed and hundreds more injured.

The rapper was dropped from the lineup for the upcoming 2022 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival, where he was slated to be among the headliners, according to Variety.

Criticized by some Astroworld attendees for not stopping his headlining concert sooner, news of his removal from the Coachella Festival comes on the heels of a Change.org petition that’s lobbying for Scott’s removal from all Goldenvoice performances.

At last check on Friday night, the petition has already gathered nearly 60,000 signatures.

The news that Scott will no longer be a part of the Coachella 2022 line up was first reported by KESQ in Palm Springs, who attributed the decision, in part, to the city of Indio and the Community Services Manager Jim Curtis.

The online petition called on Coachella organizers Goldenvoice and Paul Tollett to remove the rapper from music festivals after his concert in Houston.

So far, representatives for Scott, the Coachella festival and the city of Indio, California, where the event is held, have not confirmed the KESQ report.

Nnamdi Kanu is being denied food in the facility of the Department of State Service (DSS), his younger brother has alleged.

Kanu is currently detained by the DSS on the order of Justice Binta Murtala Nyako-led Federal High Court in Abuja on the treasonable felony charges preferred against him by the federal government of Nigeria.

His brother, Prince Kanu Meme, who paid him a visit, took to Facebook to allege that Nnamdi Kanu is being subjected to ill-treatment by the DSS.

He also claimed that the secret police has denied him his medical report after taking his blood more than 21 times.

Prince Kanu wrote: “Just visited the Alpha Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, at the Department of State Security Services Abuja. During my interaction with him, he told me that he has been denied food since yesterday.

“As if that wasn’t enough, DSS had also denied him his medical report after taking his blood for more than 21 times. They have continuously disobeyed all the court orders.”

A Nigerian lady was allegedly verbally and physically assaulted by a bouncer at the Cubana night club, in the heart of Enugu.

She took to her social media pages to narrate the horrific experience. According to her, she went to the club for a birthday party, alongside her friend. Whilst answering a phone call, she overheard one of the club bouncers harassing her friend and came to her aid. The bouncer, Echa, succeeded in throwing her friend out of the club.

In a bid to defend her friend, she questioned whether the bouncer would do same if that was his sister. He simply brushed off the statement by declaring that his sister would not be in the club at that time of the night.

In a statement made by @max_jajay, the bouncer physically assaulted her, before throwing her out of the club. She took to her Instagram page to call out the club and the perpetrator of the heinous act.

A middle-aged woman on Monday told Enugu State High Court Enugu how one [ Obinna Ogianya ] raped her under Trans-Ekulu Bridge and collected her N250 to boot.

She told [ Justice E.M Egumgbe ], that she was on her way to work around 5.30 am on May 28, 2019, when the defendant attacked her with a knife.

She said Ogianya dragged her under the bridge, threw her on the ground and pointed a knife toward her stomach

He then raped her.

“I struggled with him and sustained an injury on my third finger, but he overpowered me.

“He pulled down the leggings I was wearing and threatened to stab me, if I shout and finally forced himself on me,” the complainant alleged.

She said it was when the defendant was putting on his cloth that an oncoming car flashed light on him and she saw that he was wearing a blue boxer.

The complainant further said that the defendant later searched her bag and made away with her only N250
_

“When I climbed back on top of the bridge, I saw my colleague and after narrating the incident to her she took the case to our supervisor.

“We were there when I heard that two people were arrested near the scene.

“When I got there, I identified the defendant as the one that raped me because he was still wearing the same yellow slippers he wore the day of the incident.

“A search was conducted on him and my N250 was found on him,” she said.

She also noted that the defendant was still wearing the blue boxer she had spotted on him.

She further said that tramadol, cannabis sativa, a lighter were found on him.

She said the supervisor invited the police who took the defendant to the police station.

The presiding judge later adjourned the matter till 6 Sept. for continuation of hearing.

Ex-beauty queen and self-proclaimed Enugu ambassador, Kodilian, has engaged in a war of words with her longtime best friend, Praise, over a love affair between Kodilian and praise's ex-boyfriend.

In a series of Instagram stories, Kodilian alleges that Praise's supposed ex-boyfriend was just a friend to Praise and nothing more. She questions the uneasiness Praise feels towards her ex and Kodilian having an affair; "Cus a guy had been your friend no one should date him"

In yet another lengthy Instagram story, Kodilian alleges that Praise "rushes" to her story every now and then to have question and answer sessions, aimed at discrediting her (Kodilian). Kodilian further shades Praise and asks her to tag her to the Q&A sessions and she will respond accordingly.

Although the cause of the rift between both parties is attributed to the affair between Praise's ex and Kodilian, it seems the feud is beyond the love affair, as Kodilian can be seen accusing her friend of laying threats to her life sometime in 2020, promising to make 2021 the opposite of 2020 for Kodilian.

Paris police on Thursday arrested American singer Lil Baby for allegedly "carrying drugs", police sources said.

LilBaby, real name ( Dominique Jones), was in a parked car from which "wafted a smell of cannabis", the source said.

During the search, "about 20 grams of cannabis grass were discovered" in the car, Le Parisien newspaper reported.

Emma Coronel Aispuro, the wife of Mexico’s most notorious cartel boss Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, has been arrested in Virginia on drug trafficking charges.
