Aside from being a good passer of the ball, nothing special about Onyedika. I will still pick Nwakali ahead of him any time, any day.

Austin Eguavoen did not play him, Jose Poseiro did not play him, and Eric Chelle is not playing him. They can't be all wrong.

Ebenezer Akinsanmiro will start games at Afcon, and Onyedika still sits on the bench.

bad belle aside, Looking at the world cup groups, i expect morocco, ivory coast, egypt, algeria (they are in argentina's group. Would like to know Argentina fetish with countries ending with geria in the world cup) and senegal to comfortably make the round of 32 stage as 1st or 2nd in their group. DRC ( if they make it to the world cup) should be able to qualify as one of the best 3rd place. South africa will not see points against korea and mexico. Their chance of a point in that group is even dependent on a lesser european team winning the play off so no chance. Cape verde will try their best but with no afcon action to prepare and debutants in a group with spain, Uruguay and saudi means they can only go to usa for history sake. Ghana are not going to afcon. They are in a group with england , croatia and panama. The least fifa rated country in that group apart from ghana is panama at 30. I dont expect Ghana to pick a point. This world cup should be an enjoyable one to watch.

Fifa really screwed with CAF big time. First persuaded(or strong armed) CAF to move the afcon from july which will have been okay for everyone involved for a club world cup that was usually held in December to july. the next year july will not be feasible due to obvious reasons so they fixed December as the date. Why they decided to rule that clubs are free to hold on to the players till 6 days before the tournament is whats confusing. Did CAF not argue or fight for some compensation when they were told to move the date?. Now countries cant have warm up games and will just move into the competition proper like that.

It started with the incompetence of the NFF for not protesting South Africa playing almost all their games at home along with them not serious with hiring a coach on time.

Sadly they will find a way to lobby FIFA to attend the world cup with their concubines as some sort of delegates.

As for watching the World Cup, omo... I'm not going to let Nigerian foolishness and chaos deprive me of enjoying World Cup drama. As Nigeria no gree qualify because they forbid better thing, I don kuku support England. If they win next year, it will be special. 60 years since they last won the mundial, followed by years of mediocrity. If England wins, it will be a story of redemption.

I'm also low-key rooting for Japan. Their football growth over the past few years has been interesting to see. Won't be surprised to see them sneak into the semi-finals, or even the finals sef.

Against Morocco. Ejike Uzoenyi showed the world the stuff he was made up of. That performance earned him a world cup spot. I remember him tieing his jersey shot with a string to hold his XXL jersey top in place. Oh Ejike, where art thou?

I agree, Ndidi is not assertive as a captain.

In fact, asides Ekong, Osimhen and maybe Bassey I doubt if anyone in the present team has the aura to lead this team to greatness.

Most of them posses that weak mentality that's holding them back from achieving anything reasonable.

The heartbreak from last Sunday's display was so jarring, I had to take my time to make it back here. It was reminiscent of the lost against CIV at the AFCON finals and our ouster against Ghana at the last WC.

It was how we were practically played out of the pack by the Congolese that got me pissed the most. Then, this dunderhead went on with some ridiculous excuse for the Congolese use of vodoo during the penalty shootout after he failed to pick out his best shooters.

Our WCQ failure rests on him, it honestly looked like he was only lucky to have Osimhen in his team for the WCQs unlike Peseiro and Finidi.

I say we use the AFCON to observe him and hope the NFF would go for a better personnel with a long term plan for the team.
