PoliticsOsun LG Polls: Ifedayo PDP Elder's Caucus Clears Air On Endorsement Of Kayode by Jimsonjaat86(op): 11:53am On Jul 23, 2024
LG Polls: Ifedayo PDP Elder's Caucus clears air on endorsement of Kayode Atolagbe

The attention of the PDP Elder's caucus of Ifedayo local government has been drawn to a conjecture put together by Hon. Olu Oyewole (Bafo) media office, where the highest body of the party in the local government, was put into disrepute.

It's important that we situate the report of our meeting correctly so as to dispel rumours going on against the elder's caucus. The endorsement of our son, Hon. Kayode Atolagbe as the preferred candidate for the position of chairman, Ifedayo local government, was as a result of his brilliant performance as a Caretaker Chairman and his loyalty and commitment to the party.

Going by the antecedent of one of the contestants, Hon. Olu Oyewole, he has decamped more than five times, from PDP to APC, within the twelve (12) years of the ruinous APC in the State, hence it may be difficult to entrust him with such position. Because we cannot allow mistakes of the past to repeat itself again. Many of the APC leaders in the local government today were brought to the limelight courtesy of the PDP.

Both Atolagbe and Olajide were appreciated for not letting the party and government down and a vote of confidence was passed on their style of leadership and what they were able to achieve within a very short period they (Atolagbe and Olajide) held sway as the council bosses. The elders thereafter prayed for them that God should continue to be with them in their future endeavours.

It's sad that Hon. Olu Oyewole could write a piece to denigrate a body which is a product of the party's constitution, PDP. He's a member of the body and was in attendance during the meeting when issues pertaining to our party were discussed extensively before a vote of confidence was passed on our sons, Atolagbe and Olajide.

His defeatist response of trying to pull the house down grossly portrays an alarming rate of political immaturity and pettiness.

The unpopularity of his aspiration within the well established structure of the party supposed to be a warning signal to a wise politician, rather than preemptive attack on the Leadership that embraced, accommodated and rehabilitated him from political destitution. We sincerely admonish him to retrace his steps, take the path of honor and appreciate the party that offered him an opportunity which his twelve years of sojourn in APC could not offer him.

As the conscience of the party, we know how long it took us to placate many of our committed and loyal members who saw his appointment as an affront on their loyalty and commitment, so his unguarded aspiration at this point in time, to party faithfuls, is a brazon attack and an insult to good conscience. However, as much as he has every right to contest, we also have inallienable rights to make our choices.Trying to rock the boat because of a failed selfish agenda is like swimming against the tide. A word is enough for the wise.

On a final note, we are aware of the unbridled misrepresentation of some of our prominent Leaders on issues that emanated in the course of our last meeting . We expect Leaders of thoughts in each community to be wary of Hon. Olu Oyewole's divisive antics. His intention to destroy the longstanding love, solidarity and unbroken cord of unity must not be allowed to succeed. A treacherous traitor is like a Leopard that can hardly change its skin, whatsoever he is displaying today is not strange to us, it is in his DNA. We only admonish our community Leaders to avoid being dragged into his dirty politicking. We equally warn against any form of intimidation, harassment and subtle attack based on Hon Olu Oyewole's dangerous incitement and malicious fabrications.

Hon. Lekan Osundina has been a foremost Leader and major financier of the party in Oke Ila, likewise other Leaders in their different communities, an attack on anyone of them in whatsoever manner is an attack on the party which shall not be tolerated.
The party holds the right to correct, admonish and reproof any of its members whose conducts and behaviors fall short of expectations. No sacred cow mentality will be condoned from any quarter. Any family or community who has a Sacred Cow must jealously keep such a cow in their Family/Communal shrine, not to venture into Politics.

In conclusion, we enjoin all party members to remain calm and focused as we continue to sustain the lofty democratic ideals of our party and support the laudable programmes of our visionary Leader, Governor Ademola Adeleke. We assure you of our undettered commitment and determination to protect our collective patrimony from ravenous Vultures disguising as democrats. We are adequately prepared to exert our authority by every democratic means as shall be directed by the Party anytime soon.

PoliticsOsun LG Polls: Youth Group Drums Support For Kayode Atolagbe by Jimsonjaat86(op): 9:38am On Jul 21, 2024
A youth based group, Ifedayo PDP Progressive (IPP) has commended the immediate past Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Kayode Atolagbe, for his leadership prowess and commitment to the development of Ifedayo local government.

The group, in its monthly maiden meeting, held in Osogbo, the state capital, on Saturday, lauded Hon. Atolagbe for his achievements.

The Chairman of the group, Mr Joshua Agboola praised the state government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke, noting that what the current administration has achieved in the last 18 months is unprecedented.

The group, however, pledged their support for chairmanship aspirant, Kayode Atolagbe, saying he has demonstrated capability while holding sway as the Caretaker Chairman and if given opportunity to be elected as the substantive council boss, he will do more in terms of grassroots development.

"We want to applaud our son, Kayode Atolagbe who has done well as the Caretaker Chairman of our dear local government. What he has been able to achieve within the very limited time shows that he understands what people need.

"In the history of our local government, those who served as Caretaker always given opportunity to contest and serve as the substantive chairman. The case of Atolagbe cannot be an exemption.

"We call on the party leadership both at the local government and state levels to allow Atolagbe to serve his people as the substantive chairman. The little time he spent, he has demonstrated capacity.

"We, the Ifedayo PDP Progressives, wish to unequivocally pledged our support for Hon. Kayode Atolagbe to be elected as the Ifedayo Local Government chairman. We shall deploy all our arsenals to make sure that he win the party ticket, come next month.

"Atolagbe is a committed party man who has not been jumping up and down. The party cannot afford to put the council in-care of a serial decampee who doesn't believe in the ideal of our party, PDP.

"It's also important that we urge members of our great party to support Kayode Atolagbe so that he can complete the good work he has started in our council." The group declared.

Ifedayo PDP Progressives is a group within the ruling PDP who has members across the ten (10) wards in Ifedayo local government.

PoliticsOsun LG Election: Electoral Commission Adjusts Timetable, Election Notice by Jimsonjaat86(op): 12:56pm On Jul 19, 2024
The Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, OSSIEC has amended the notice of local government elections and has also adjusted the timetable and schedule of activities regarding the forthcoming local government elections in the State.

The Chairman of the Commission, Barr. Hashim Akintude Abioye made this known after the deliberations of the Commission, where the legitimacy of conducting elections into the LCDAs and Administrative Offices was discussed, as such safely resolved to amend the initial notice of elections to the effect that elections shall now be held into only the constitutionally recognized Local Government Council Areas of Osun State, with a caution that 22nd February, 2025 date remains sacrosanct notwithstanding the amendment to the original notice. In his words, "the present amendment dates back to and relates to the original notice, there is no change in the February, 2025 date earlier given for holding the elections", the Chairman declared.

He further noted that the Commission has also considered the agitations from some stakeholders especially the Osun State Inter-party Advisory Council, IPAC, and as such resolved to adjust the timetable and schedule of activities for the election to give more time for political parties to conduct their primaries so as to guarantee more inclusive participations in the polls, adding that he has written to the leadership of IPAC to this effect.

He therefore debunked the news making the rounds that Osun is one of the States reported to have been rushing to conduct local government elections due to the local Government autonomy judgement declared by the Supreme Court as against the notice already published by the OSSIEC since 19th February, 2024, describing the news as reckless and baseless as far as Osun State Local Government electoral process is concerned under the present OSSIEC.

Nairaland GeneralOroki Crystals Club Empowers Struggling Woman With N237,000 by Jimsonjaat86(op):
In a heartwarming turn of events, the Oroki Crystals Club has empowered Omoriyeba, a woman who has long struggled to feed herself and her family by begging, with a substantial donation of N237,000.

The presentation of this life-changing support took place today in Iragbiji at the shop newly procured by the club for the woman, and was led by several prominent members of the club.

The dummy cheque was formally handed over by members of the club led by Alhaji Bello Muideen (President), Lekan Komolafe(Social Secretary), and members, Moshood Akande and Biodun Ajayi.

The gesture comes after the club issued a public appeal for financial assistance on behalf of Omoriyeba, who had been making daily trips from her hometown of Iragbiji to Osogbo to beg for alms at a popular food canteen.

Her touching story of resilience and hope resonated deeply with many, inspiring the club to take decisive action.

During the presentation, Alhaji Muideen Bello, the club’s president, expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to making this empowerment possible.

He reiterated the club's commitment to community welfare and emphasized the transformative power of collective effort in addressing poverty.

"Today, we are not just giving Mrs Omoriyeba financial assistance; we are giving her hope and a chance at a better future. We believe that with this support, she can start her own business and break free from the cycle of poverty that has held her back for so long," said Bello.

Omoriyeba, overwhelmed with emotion, shared her plans to start a small business selling foodstuffs, a dream she has held onto with unwavering determination. "I am incredibly grateful to the Oroki Crystals Club and everyone who contributed. This support means everything to me and my family. I now have the opportunity to work hard and build a stable future for us," she said.

Crystal Lekan Komolafe, the social secretary of the club, highlighted the significance of such initiatives in uplifting individuals and communities.

"Empowering one person can have a ripple effect on the entire community. By helping her, we are also investing in the future of her children and contributing to the overall well-being of our society," Komolafe remarked.

Members Crystal Moshood Akande and Crystal Biodun Ajayi echoed these sentiments, urging other organizations and individuals to follow suit and support similar causes.

"This is a clear example of how small contributions from many can lead to significant change. We encourage others to join us in making a difference," they said.

PoliticsGov. Sim's Simplicity Should Not Be Taken For Granted - Hon Amadi Nnokam by Jimsonjaat86(op): 9:38am On Jul 11, 2024
A PDP Chieftain in Rivers State has warned that Governor Siminalayi Fubara's Simplicity shouldn't be taken for granted. In his words :

"The enemy who couldn't remove His Excellency, the people's Governor when his structure and support base weren't as formidable as it is today, why does he think he can, now that Gov Sim has taken charge of the entire structure in the State?

Like H. E. told the former legislators, all these plots and noises are happening because he allows them, the day the Governor decides not only to defend his mandate, but to actually fight back, all of them will run to Abuja for obvious reasons.

He knows his powers, he knows what Wike knows and a lot Wike doesn't, he knows he enjoys an overwhelming organic support of majority of Rivers people, he's well aware of the enormous material resources and influence at his disposal, he's far more emotionally intelligent, stable and exceptionally strategic.

Stop pushing your luck too far as you may most likely not recover from the next shocker.

His willful choice to remain peaceful and exercise uncommon restraints as a result of his profound gratitude and strength of character shouldn't be taken for granted any further

If Fubara vex, the Niger Delta nay Nigeria will shake!"

PoliticsNyesom Wike Accused Of Avoiding Political Showdown By Hon. Amadi Nnokam by Jimsonjaat86(op): 11:50am On Jul 09, 2024
Hon. Amadi Nnokam, a prominent chieftain of the Simplified Movement, has publicly criticized the former Governor of Rivers State and leader of the opposition, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. Nnokam accused Wike of avoiding opportunities to demonstrate his political influence in Rivers State.

Despite having two election opportunities to showcase his leadership, Wike has reportedly declined to participate. The forthcoming local government elections and the House of Assembly bye-elections in one constituency, following the demise of its former occupant, presented such opportunities. Additionally, 25 other constituencies have vacant seats due to defections and the application of section 109 of the 1999 CFRN, as amended. Furthermore, the seat of Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, the immediate past speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, became vacant after his resignation.

Instead of engaging in these electoral processes, Wike has been accused of seeking injunctions from courts to prevent the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from conducting elections to fill these seats. Nnokam challenged Wike and his supporters to participate in the elections and prove their political prowess rather than relying on legal maneuvers.

“In Ikwerre land, we do not argue about who a better wrestler is when there's an abundance of land to practically show working,” Nnokam stated. He called on Wike to demonstrate his capacity in the political arena, asserting that Wike is afraid of being defeated in all 23 local government areas and 27 state constituencies.

Quoting Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, Nnokam added, “Truly, ‘he knows that we know what he knows, but he doesn't know what we know.’” He urged Wike to enter the political ring and allow Governor Sim to clear any remaining doubts about their capabilities.

The political tension continues to build in Rivers State as the elections approach, with both sides eager to prove their dominance.

Nairaland GeneralNaset Demands Rectification And Arrears Of Special Teachers’ 18 Months Salary by Jimsonjaat86(op): 5:55pm On Jul 08, 2024
OSUN NASET DEMANDS RECTIFICATION AND ARREARS OF SPECIAL TEACHERS’ 18 MONTHS SALARY SHORT PAYMENT BY CHAMS

The entire members and executives of Nigeria Association of Special Education Teachers {NASET}, the professional association of special educators at all levels of education (Basic, Secondary and Tertiary) are using this medium to express our chagrin and displeasure regarding the intentional, undue, unjustifiable and indefensible deduction, reduction and omission of certain peculiar allowances in the salaries of some of our members that are working in Osun state public special schools by CHAMS which have lasted for more than 18 months.

The anomalies that led to the salary short payment for this 18 months were traced and evidently established to have resulted from intentional errors by CHAMS which is the firm engaged by Osun state government to coordinate electronically salary payments of Osun state workers. NASET as a professional association and individual members affected have been lodging complaints persistently on a monthly basis for 18 months but nothing was done to rectify it despite their acceptance of this salary contrariety. It is disheartening and troubling that at this moment CHAMS is bisecting the ’little’ that is due to Osun state special teachers when special teachers in some states and FCT are receiving 30% of basic salary as special education allowance as stipulated by National Policy on Special Education in Nigeria.

NASET pleads to the Osun state government under the able leadership of His Excellency, ASIWAJU Sen. (Dr) Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke to make it incumbent on CHAMS to rectify this salary short payment and ensures the arrears of the amount that affected members were short paid for 18 months, and magnanimously approve 30% of basic salary as special education allowance for special teachers in Osun state schools for persons with special needs as recommended by National Policy on Special Education in Nigeria.

IN ALL OF THESE, JUDGEMENTS WERE ENTERED IN FAVOUR OF THE PLAINTIFFS IN THE MATTER IN SUIT NO: FHC/ABJ/CS/1613/2023.

I REFER YOU TO THE 72 PAGE JUDGEMENT DELIVERED ON THE 22/01/2024

ALSO READ THE ENROLLED ORDER OF THE COURT OF APPEAL DELIVERED ON THE 4TH OF JULY, 2024.

I REPRODUCE VERBATIM.

CONSEQUENTLY, SUIT NO. PHC/1512/CS/2024: HON. VICTOR OKO JUMBO AND 2 OTHERS VS RT. HON. MARTIN CHIKE AMAEWHULE & 24 OTHERS IS HEREBY STRUCK OUT.

3. CONSEQUENTLY, PARTIES ARE TO RETURN TO THE STATUS QUO ANTE BELLUM.

*STATUS QUO ANTE BELLUM:*
*WHAT DOES IT MEAN/WHAT IS THE ROOT WORD?*

STATUS QUO ANTE BELLUM IS ANOTHER LATIN PHRASE MEANING, THE SITUATION AS IT EXISTED BEFORE THE WAR.

"ANTE BELLUM " MEANS "BEFORE THE WAR."

IT ROOTS BACK TO 1840 WHEN IT WAS FIRST USED IN TREATIES TO REFER TO THE WITHDRAWAL OF ENEMY TROOPS AND THE RESTORATION OF PREWAR LEADERSHIP.

"STATUS QUO ANTE BELLUM" SIMPLY MEANS THE STATE OF AFFAIRS BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF HOSTILITIES.

IS THIS STILL DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND?

WHAT WAS THE SITUATION IN RIVERS STATE BEFORE THE HOSTILITIES STARTED?

IS IT WHAT THE COURT OF APPEAL IN HER WELL CONSIDERED UNANIMOUS JUDGEMENT ORDERED?

PROVIDE THE ANSWERS.

LET ME TERSELY ASK:

NOW THAT THE LAW TODAY RECOGNISES RT HON MARTIN AMAEWHULE AS SPEAKER OF RIVERS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY AND 25 OTHERS AS MEMBERS OF RIVERS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY, WHAT IS EXPECTED?

NOW THAT THE LAW TODAY IN RIVERS STATE DECLARES A NULLITY, THE PURPORTED PRESENTATION OF BUDGET TO A NON~EXISTENT SPEAKER (SEE THE UNCHALLENGED J.K OMOTOSHO JUDGEMENT, 22ND JANUARY, 2024).

NOW THAT THE LAW TODAY ORDERS THE RETURN TO THE STATUS OF THE STATE BEFORE THE COMMENCEMENT OF POLITICAL AND LEGAL HOSTILITIES.

NOW THAT THE GOVERNOR'S WINDOW OF EXPENDITURE FROM WITHDRAWAL FROM STATE COFFERS WITHIN 6 MONTHS UNTIL THE COMING INTO OPERATION OF THE LAW, WHICHEVER IS EARLIER (SEE SECTION 122 OF THE I999 CONSTITUTION OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AS AMENDED), HAS EXPIRED ON THE 30TH OF JUNE 2024.

CAN THE GOVERNOR WITHIN THE PREVALENT LAW, CONTINUE TO WITHDRAW MONEYS FROM THE CONSOLIDATED REVENUE FUND OF THE STATE?.

CENTRAL TO ALL THESE POSERS IS: "WHERE IS RIVERS STATE GOING TO? (QUO VADIS)

*CONCLUSION:*
LET ME CONCLUDE THUSLY:

IRREDENTISM AND REVISIONISM.

MY FIRST CONSCIENTIOUS COUNSEL IS AGAINST THESE CATEGORY OF PERSONS IN OUR STATE AND HIRELINGS FROM OUTSIDE AS THE IGNOBLE SOCIAL CLUB DUBBED G60 WHO ACCORDING TO GOVERNOR FUBARA'S COMMISSIONER OF JUSTICE AND ATTORNEY GENERAL, IS NOW THE OFFICIAL MOUTHPIECE OF RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT.

Nairaland GeneralChinedu Mba Denies Involvement In Fraud Allegations Ravaging Globus Bank by Jimsonjaat86(op): 8:55am On Jul 08, 2024
A student of M.Sc. currently pursuing his degree in the United Kingdom, identified as Chinedu Mba, has vehemently denied allegations of involvement in a fraud incident that occurred at his previous place of employment, Globus Bank.

Recall that a recent publication on a blog identified as Nairametrics claimed that he participated in a fraud that affected customers money in Globus Bank.

"The EFCC’s claims were made in SUIT NO/FHC/CS/32/2024, leading to Justice Inyang Ekwo’s order to freeze the accounts for 90 days pending further investigation."

Further investigations by the bank revealed that the fraud perpetrated on the bank was around N900,000,000.00 (Nine Hundred Million Naira)."

In his defense, the former Globus Bank employee, Chinedu, explained that he was employed by Globus Bank in April 2021 to work in the Core Banking Application team, where he joined existing team members managing the software application.

Contrary to claims made in the publication, Chinedu clarified that he was not a pioneer or architect of the application and was not involved in overseeing its operational platform.

He emphasized that his recruitment at the bank was based on merit and followed standard HR processes.

“During my tenure at Globus Bank, I worked diligently and was offered a job at another financial institution in September 2022. Despite receiving a counteroffer from Globus Bank to retain me, I eventually decided to leave the bank in July 2023 to pursue his Master's degree in the UK.”

“I ensured a proper handover process and provided sufficient notice to the bank before his departure. I refuted claims made in the publication that I brought in a replacement for his role or had unauthorized access to critical servers."

He emphasized that his job responsibilities focused on providing user support and resolving issues with the application without involvement in areas such as software deployment or server access.

Chinedu also dismissed allegations of involvement in hacking the bank's software, citing his lack of expertise, time, and access post-resignation.

Furthermore, Chinedu highlighted the stringent security measures in place at Globus Bank, including multiple authentication layers and restricted access to critical servers.

He expressed confusion and dismay over the misinformation spread about him and noted that he had not been contacted by any law enforcement agencies or the bank regarding the allegations.

In light of these developments, Chinedu Mba seeks to clear his name and address the inaccuracies presented in the publication, emphasizing his commitment to his studies and professional integrity.

“As the investigation unfolds, I remain steadfast in my denial of any wrongdoing and call for a thorough examination of the facts surrounding the allegations against me,"  he concluded.

PoliticsAPC Primaries: Ofe-aran Remains In The Race For Offa LG Chairmanship by Jimsonjaat86(op): 8:25am On Jul 02, 2024
We have been made aware of a misleading report circulating in Offa Local Government, perpetuated by desperate politicians. Contrary to their claims, I, Ofe-Aran, did not convene a meeting with fellow aspirants at the residence of the former PRO of Kwara State APC, nor did I withdraw my candidacy or declare support for any other aspirant.

I wish to categorically state that I remain fully committed to contesting the position of Chairman in the upcoming primary election. The false statements by these desperate politicians are not only misleading but also potentially harmful to the democratic process.

I urge the general public and all stakeholders to disregard any such claims or misinformation. I appreciate the continued support and trust of my loyal supporters and assure them of my dedication to the race. Let us remain focused on the true issues and maintain a fair and transparent electoral process."

Sincerely Yours

EducationOsun Public Schools Where Trees Portent Danger For Students And Teachers by Jimsonjaat86(op): 10:29pm On Jul 01, 2024
One of the things that the current administration under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke doesn't take with levity is the welfare and good living of the people of the state.

On many occasions, Mr Governor has directed government officials to make sure that people's welfare are taking care without any discrimination of what party or religion they belong.

Unfortunately, some school Principals are not helping the Governor in this regard, as many of them may be nursing fear of not being punished for wrong doings.

A visit to some public schools in some parts of the state shows some delapidated buildings which need urgent government intervention.

Few months ago, I was at Imesi-ile in Obokun local government area for a programme. I took tour round the town, getting to a public primary school, what I saw there was an eyesore as almost all the buildings have collapsed left with two buildings which are not in good condition. I asked myself, do we have students under these roofs, they are death trap. The building may collapse anytime.

Two weeks ago, I was in Ila-Orangun for a burial, on our way to the venue of the event, we had a stopover, a friend who was with us in the vehicle quickly called my attention to a primary school, college primary, apart from the condition of the school, trees have already grown to cover the school.

As we were trying to check the school, a young man, an indigen of Ila, came to our side, joined our conversation on why the trees were not cut to avert danger that it portents for both the teachers and students, the young man named like three other schools in Ila that face same danger.

They are: Ajagunla Grammar School, Igbonibi Grammar School and Agboluaje Grammar school. Trees have already covered the roofs, just a heavy rain with windstorm, those trees may fall on the buildings thereby results into causalities (God forbid)

One question that keeps ringing is that, is it that the Principals of those schools aren't care about the safety of the students and teachers or they wait for Governor Adeleke to give them directive on how to secure their schools or they want to wait until the trees fall and cause causality thereby subject the state government to unnecessary attack by the oppositions in the state.

I think the Principals of the affected schools need to be queried by the Ministry of Education.

NEWSLETTER TO RIVERS STATE PEOPLE

THE UNTOLD STORIES:

THERE ARE UNTOLD STORIES IN OUR RECENT POLITICAL LANDSCAPE THAT MUST BE TOLD, PERHAPS TO PRESENT AS PANACEA TO THE TEETHING PROBLEMS THAT HAVE BEDEVILED OUR STATE IF THE GLADIATORS AGREE WITH/TO THEM.

THESE STORIES ARE EITHER MUMBLED JUMBLED IN PUBLIC DOMAIN TO SOOTHE THE NARRATIVE OF JAUNDICED/BIAS AUTHORS OR THERE IS DEARTH/SCARCE INFORMATION AVAILABLE IN PUBLIC DOMAIN ON THE TRUTHS.

I SHALL SUCCINCTLY, BRISKLY AND APTLY PUT THE UNTAINTED FACTS AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY UNTRUTH AS MAY BE UNCOVERED WITH COUNTER~EXAMPLES.

*(1) GOVERNOR FUBARA IS MINISTER WIKE'S POLITICAL INVESTMENT IN RIVERS STATE:*

CONSIDER THESE TRUISMS:

A. BEFORE THE GOVERNORSHIP OF CHIEF E.N.WIKE IN RIVERS STATE, MR SIMINALAYE JOSEPH FUBARA WAS A STAFF OF THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE, RIVERS STATE.
UPON ASSUMPTION OF OFFICE AS GOVERNOR OF RIVERS STATE, CHIEF WIKE FOR WHATEVER CONSIDERATION, PROMOTED MR SIMINALAYE FUBARA TO DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION AND ASSIGNED HIM TO GOVERNMENT HOUSE.

B. SOON AFTER, GOV. WIKE MANOURVRED THE APPOINTMENT OF MR. FUBARA TO PERMANENT SECRETARY, GOVERNMENT HOUSE, STILL IN CHARGE OF GOVERNMENT HOUSE FUNDS, OVER AND ABOVE HIS SENIORS IN THE RIVERS STATE CIVIL SERVICE.

C. NO SOONER HAD HE (FUBARA) ASSUMED OFFICE AS PERMANENT SECRETARY THAN GOVERNOR WIKE BROKE/CIRCUMVENTED CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND ETHOS, TO ANNOUNCE MR. FUBARA AS ACCOUNTANT ~GENERAL OF RIVERS STATE (THE APOGEE POINT OF HIS CARRIER). BY THAT POSITION, MR FUBARA BECAME A SIGNATORY TO THE RIVERS STATE ACCOUNTS, BONAFIDE.

D. NOT YET DONE, GOVERNOR WIKE PROPPED UP MR. FUBARA TO SUCCEED HIM IN THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR OF RIVERS STATE.

PDP GOVERNORSHIP FORMS WERE PURCHASED BY GOVERNOR WIKE AND DISTRIBUTED TO THOSE WHO INDICATED INTERESTS AND WARNED THAT TO AVOID RANCOUR AND ACRIMONY IN THE PARTY AND INDEED, FOR THE INTEREST OF THE UNITY OF THE PARTY, NO ASPIRANT WAS PERMITTED TO CAMPAIGN, ONLY AWAIT THE DECISION OF THE ELDERS' COUNCIL.
ALL ASPIRANTS, MADE UP OF FORMER GOVERNORS, DEPUTY SPEAKER OF HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, FORMER AND SERVING SECRETARY TO STATE GOVERNMENT, FORMER CHAIRMAN OF PDP RIVERS, ETC., PRESENTED THEMSELVES BEFORE THE ELDERS COUNCIL AND WERE SCREENED.
FUNNY ENOUGH, THE ONLY ASPIRANT WHO HAD NOT THE INFINITESIMAL EXPERIENCE IN THE SPHERE OF POLITICS IN RIVERS STATE, MR. FUBARA WAS PRODUCED AS HANDOUT TO THE ELDERS COUNCIL BY GOVERNOR WIKE.

NOTE: THE APPOINTMENT OF THE PDP ELDERS COUNCIL WAS GOVERNOR WIKE'S BRAINCHILD.
THE INSTRUCTION TO ASPIRANTS NOT TO CAMPAIGN WAS A SUBTERFUGE/DECOR TO ALLOW THE EMERGENCE OF THE ONE, MR. SIMINALAYE FUBARA WHO WAS NEVER A POLITICIAN.

SHOULD GOVERNOR WIKE AND PDP RIVERS HAD ALLOWED A PRIMARY ELECTION FOR ALL THE ASPIRANTS, MR. SIMINALAYE FUBARA WOULD HAVE BOARDED A DISTANT LAST POSITION (14/14)

THE EMERGENCE OF THE LIST QUALIFIED AN ILL~EXPERIENCED FUBARA, WAS A RESULT OF "POLITICAL PALACE COUP WITH GOVERNOR WIKE AS THE MOVIE DIRECTOR.

PDP RIVERS WAS IN CIRCUMSTANTIAL DIRE STRAIT.
NOT ALL THAT LOST IN THE "COUP", TOOK IT KINDLY. FOR THEM, IF ANYONE OF THE PROLIFIC POLITICIANS THAT ASPIRED EMERGED, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN UNDERSTANDABLE, BUT NOT A TIRO AS MR. FUBARA.

THESE TEAM OF EXTREMELY AGGRIEVED ONES COINED A CLICHE "WE CANNOT AFTER SERVING THE MASTER, ALSO CONDESCEND TO SERVE THE MASTER'S BOY".

TO THIS CLASS,, "IT WAS TO YOUR TENTS OH ISRAEL"!.

THEY LEFT THE MAINSTREAM PDP IN THE STATE AND FORMED ALLIANCE WITH THE HATER OF GOVERNOR WIKE AND ANYTHING THAT CONCERNED HIM IN PDP (FORMER VICE PRESIDENT ATIKU ABUBAKAR).
NIGERIANS ARE AWARE OF THE SUSTAINED POLITICAL RIVALRY BETWEEN ATIKU AND WIKE.

E. CAMPAIGNS FOR THE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION IN RIVERS STATE ENSUED. IT WAS A PLATFORM FOR CANDIDATES OF THE PARTIES TO TAKE THE SOAPBOX TO ESPOUSE POLICIES AND PROGRAMMES THEY INTEND TO PURSUE/EXECUTE, IF ELECTED INTO THE EXALTED OFFICE.

UNFORTUNATELY, RIVERS STATE PEOPLE WATCHED WITH CONSTERNATION AS CANDIDATE FUBARA WAS ONLY INVITED TO THE ROSTRUM, TO ONLY WAVE TO THE TEEMING CROWD OF SUPPORTERS OF THE PDP.
HIS DEFICIENCIES ARE WELL KNOWN, SO, HAVE TO BE COVERED.

F. GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION IN RIVERS STATE CAME ON THE 18TH OF MARCH, 2024. CANDIDATE FUBARA CLINCHED ALL THE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION IN ALL THE 23 LGAS OF RIVERS STATE. IT WAS A NOVELTY!
IT NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE IN OUR HISTORY!

23 OF THE CHAIRMEN OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCILS, INCLUDING 21 OF THEM THAT BECAME ENDANGERED SPECIES TWO WEEKS AFTER GOVERNOR SIMINALAYE FUBARA WAS SWORN~IN AS GOVERNOR, WERE FINAL COLLATION AGENTS IN THEIR RESPECTIVE LGAS.

I RECALL THAT WHEN INEC FOOT~DRAGGED IN THE FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE GOVERNORSHIP RESULTS, WHICH SIM FUBARA WAS BELIEVED TO HAVE WON SQUARE AND CLEAR, THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMEN MOBILIZED PARTY SUPPORTERS IN DEMONSTRATION/PROTEST THAT TOOK OVER THE ABA ROAD, AROUND INEC OFFICE IN PORT HARCOURT FOR MANY DAYS UNTIL THE FINAL DECLARATION OF THE RESULT WAS MADE.

GOV. WIKE DID ALL WITHIN THE ARMBITS OF THE LAW AND DELIVERED MR. FUBARA AS GOVERNOR.
HE ENSURED THAT THE SWEARING ~IN AND TAKE-OVER WERE SEAMLESS.

WHEN CANDIDATES OF SOME OTHER POLITICAL PARTIES WHO CONTESTED THE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION MADE TO THE ELECTION TRIBUNAL, GOV. WIKE HIRED AND PAID ALL THE VERY TALL LEGAL LUMINARIES FROM THE TRIBUNAL IN ABUJA STAGE TO THE SUPREME COURT.

NO NEW LAWYER WAS ADDED OR REMOVED FROM THE LEGAL TEAM AS ASSEMBLED.

THE COUNCIL CHAIRMEN LIVED UP TO THEIR BILLINGS OF PROVIDING WITNESSES AT THEIR COST TO ABUJA, AT THE TRIBUNAL STAGE.

QUESTIONS FOR GOV. FUBARA AND HIS CHEERLEADERS AND OBJECTIVE/DISPASSIONATE READERS HERE:

1- A COMBINED READING OF THE FEW INSIGHTS HERE, "IS IT RIGHT OR WRONG TO CONCLUDE THAT GOV. FUBARA IS MINISTER WIKE'S "POLITICAL INVESTMENT"?
ALAS, EVEN GOVERNOR FUBARA MAINTAINED AND SANG IT LIKE A REFRAIN AUDIBLY, THAT MINISTER WIKE IS HIS "OGA" (THAT MAY HAVE BEEN GONE WITH THE MEDIEVALS).

2- DOES AN INVESTOR HOLD WITHIN HIS RIGHTS, TO LOOK IN AND SUPERVISE HIS INVESTMENT, OR HE/SHE SHOWS LASSERFAIRE AND ALLOWS HIS/HER INVESTMENT GO DOWN THE DRAINS?

DITTO TO THE POLITICAL SPHERE.
WHICH POLITICIAN GIVES AWAY WILLY~NILLY, HIS STRUCTURE, OR ALLOWS ANYONE ATTEMPT TO DISMANTLE IT AND REMAIN TACITURN AND DO NOTHING?

ASSUMING WITHOUT CONCEDING THAT THE IRREDENTISTS AND REVISIONISTS TAUNT AND TAINT THE STORY AROUND CONTROL OF GOVERNOR FUBARA BY HIS BENEFACTOR NOW MINISTER WIKE, IS IT COMPLETELY AN ABSURD?

MINISTER WIKE HAD COME SEVERALLY TO DENY CONTROL OF HIS INVESTMENT IN RIVERS STATE AND EMPHASISED/HINGED AUDIBLY THAT GOVERNOR FUBARA WAS DESTROYING THE STRUCTURE THAT HE (WIKE ) BUILT IN RIVERS STATE, WHICH ALSO PRODUCED GOV. FUBARA.
HAS GOV. FUBARA RESPONDED,?

RATHER, HE WEEPS UP PEDESTRIAN SYMPATHY AROUND ETHNICITY.

*(2) GOVERNMENT OF DECEITS AND FAT WHITE LIES:*

BURNING OF A SECTION OF THE RIVERS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY COMPLEX:

CONSIDER THESE:

PRECISELY ON THE 30TH OF OCTOBER, 2023, RIVERS PEOPLE WOKE UP TO THE SAD NEWS OF THE BURNING OF THE ICONIC STRUCTURE THAT HOUSES THE LEGISLATIVE ARM OF GOVERNMENT, RIVERS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY COMPLEX.

SEVERAL SLANTS TO THE NEWS WERE BANDIED AND PUT ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
BUT THE ONE THAT WAS MOST AUTHENTIC WAS ĹIVE TELEVISION VIEW OF GOV. FUBARA WALKING MAJESTICALLY TO THE "LOCUS INQUO".
WHILST ON HIS WAY, WE SAW WATER SPLASHED FROM POLICE VEHICLE TO PASSERSBY FOR WHATEVER SECURITY INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO THEM.

HIS EXCELLENCY, GOV. FUBARA RAISED ALARM OVER THREAT TO HIS LIFE BY ONE DEPUTY COMMISSIONER OF POLICE WHO LED THE POLICE OPERATION. HE EVENTUALLY GOT TO THE BUILDING AND ASCERTAINED THAT THE BUILDING WAS TRULY BURNT.

THE GOVERNOR RETURNED TO THE ENTRANCE GATE OF THE GOVERNMENT HOUSE WHERE AN EMERGENCY PODIUM WAS NOCKED IN FOR HIM.

THE GOVERNOR MOUNTED THE ROSTRUM AND QUIPPED "THEY (ASSEMBLY MEMBERS DOING THE BIDDING OF THEIR MASTER) WANTED TO IMPEACH ME TODAY. HE KEPT ASKING REPEATEDLY "WHAT DID I DO WRONG?

"WHAT IMPEACHABLE OFFENSES HAVE I COMMITTED"?

HE ASSURED HIS CHEERLEADERS ON GROUND THERE THAT HE WILL DO EVERYTHING TO DEFEND HIS MANDATE, EVEN IF IT LED TO HIS DEMISE, BUT HE WILL LEAVE THE LEGACY OF A HERO.

ASAWANA!, ASAWANA!!, ASAWANA!!! RENTED THE AIR AS THE HIRED CROWD BELLOWED.

THE ISSUE OF THE BURNT ASSEMBLY COMPLEX WAS NEVER MENTIONED IN COURSE OF HIS SPEECH AT FRONT OF THE GOVERNMENT HOUSE GATE.
CAN YOU CONNECT THE DOTS.
ASSEMBLY COMPLEX WAS TO BE USED TO IMPEACH GOV. FUBARA ON MONDAY, 30TH OCTOBER, 2023.

SAME DAY, BEFORE ASSEMBLY MEMBERS CONVERGED TO COMMENCE THEIR LEGISLATIVE BUSINESS, THE SECTION, PARTICULARLY THE HALLOWED CHAMBER WAS BURNT.

"THE WITCH CRIES IN THE NIGHT AND THE CHILD DIES IN THE MORNING".
DOES ANY RATIONAL BEING NEED FURTHER CLARIFICATION?

WE VENTURE TO ASK AGAIN:
"WAS GOV. FUBARA HAPPY THAT THE LONG STANDING LEGACY OF FORMER GOV. PETER ODILI, ADJUDGED ONLY SECOND TO THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY COMPLEX, WAS BURNT IN HIS TIME"?

DID THE GOVERNOR INSTITUTE A PANEL, COMMITTEE, OR ANY FORM OF INQUIRY INTO THE REMOTE AND IMMEDIATE CAUSE OF FIRE ON THE ASSEMBLY COMPLEX BUILDING, NOT A MERE SUPERMARKET?

WAS THERE AN INTEGRITY TEST TO UNCOVER THE STATE OF THE EDIFICE?

BY WHO DID HE OR ANY OF HIS PROTEGES CONVEY THE REPORT TO RIVERS PEOPLE?

SADLY, ON THE 14TH OF DECEMBER, AT THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING, THE GOVERNOR WAS SIGHTED AT THE ASSEMBLY COMPLEX WITH HEAVY DUTY EQUIPMENTS, AND SUPERVISED THE PULLING DOWN OF THE EDIFICE. VOOM!,
THE STRUCTURE WAS UTTERLY DEMOLISHED.

GOVERNOR FUBARA'S OVERT INTENTION IN BOTH THE BURNING AND PULLING DOWN OF THE ASSEMBLY COMPLEX WAS FOR THE SOLE REASON OF MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE ASSEMBLY TO SIT.

HIS ADVISERS DIDN'T TELL HIM THAT AN ASSEMBLY DOESN'T INHERE IN A STRUCTURE. HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY OF ANY STATE OR NATION ARE THE MEMBERS.

THEY ARE ALLOWED TO SIT ANYWHERE AND HOWSOEVER, PROVIDED THE "MACE", WHICH IS THE SYMBOL OF AUTHORITY, IS AVAILABLE.

GOVERNOR FUBARA EXUDING HIS ODOROUS GUTS, DESTROYED THE RIVERS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY COMPLEX BUILDING FOR PERSONAL REASONS.

WE READ THAT THE GOVERNOR HAS APPROVED THE MIND-BLOWING SUM OF 19.5 BILLION NAIRA, TAX PAYERS MONEY TO REBUILD THE ASSEMBLY HE BURNT AND PULLED DOWN.

*(3) INTERNALLY GENERATED REVENUE (IGR):*

GOVERNOR FUBARA IN ONE OF HIS USUAL BACKYARD BRIEF ( HE CANNOT STAND BEFORE CAMERAS AND MEDIA PRACTITIONERS), TOLD RIVERS PEOPLE THAT THE INTERNALLY GENERATED REVENUE OF RIVERS STATE HAS DOUBLED WHAT IT WAS BEFORE HE TOOK OFFICE.

ACCORDING TO HIM, BEFORE ASSUMPTION OF OFFICE, RIVERS STATE INTERNALLY GENERATED REVENUE, GANGLED BETWEEN 12 - 13 BILLION NAIRA MONTHLY.

HE BOASTED THAT UNDER HIS WATCH, RIVERS STATE INTERNALLY GENERATED REVENUE SITS PRETTY ON 28 BILLION NAIRA MONTHLY.

WE WERE HAPPY, BELIEVING THE GOVERNOR'S REVELATION WAS RIGHT AND TRUE.

WE BROUGHT OUT HANDKERCHIEFS ON TWO HANDS TO DANCE FOR THIS EARTH~BREAKING ACHIEVEMENT UNDER GOVERNOR FUBARA.

BUT, AS CURIOUS MINDS, WE WANTED TO BE SURE THAT GOVERNOR FUBARA'S BOAST ISN'T ANOTHER DELIBERATE PLOY TO DECEIVE RIVERS PEOPLE, ALL IN HIS INORDINATE BID FOR POPULAR ACCLAMATION. SO WE ASKED -
WHAT WAS NEW?

DID TAXABLE ITEMS INCREASED IN THE PRESENCE OF HARD ECONOMIC CRUNCH?

WHERE THERE NEW COMPANIES, INDUSTRIES AND HEAVY BUSINESS CONCERNS THAT LOCATED/RELOCATED TO RIVERS STATE AND PAID HUGE SUMS TO THE STATE COFFERS?

WHAT ARE THE NEW PHYSICAL INDICES/VARIABLES THAT LED TO THE EXPONENTIAL RISE IN INTERNALLY GENERATED REVENUE OF RIVERS STATE?

GOVERNOR FUBARA MUST HAVE GONE SPIRITUAL TO PERFORM THE MAGIC HE ANNOUNCED.

WE TOOK THE GOVERNOR TO TASK AS MAIN AND VOCAL OPPOSITION PARTY AND IPSO FACTO, THE VOICE OF THE VOICELESS, ENJOINING HIM TO OFFER EXPLANATIONS TO THESE SIMPLE QUESTIONS.
HE COULDN'T.

SO WHAT IS LEFT TO CONCLUDE IS THAT THE GOVERNOR'S BOAST OF INCREASE IN INTERNALLY GENERATED REVENUE OF RIVERS STATE WAS A 'CONCOCTED FAT WHITE LIE AND BAREFACED CHICANERY'!

*(4) 200 UNITS OF LOW COST HOUSING IN PORT HARCOURT:*

ANOTHER SPURIOUS BOAST OF GOVERNOR FUBARA IS IN HIS NEW BRAND BOAST TO BUILD 200 LOW COST HOUSES IN PORT HARCOURT AND MAKE IT AVAILABLE/AFFORDABLE FOR THE "HAVE NOTS".
HAHAHAHAHA!.

DO YOU KNOW THAT THE GOVERNOR, DRIVING THE STATE TO ABYSMAL OBLIVION, WENT INTO PARTNERSHIP WITH HIS CRONIES, "TAF CITY ESTATE DEVELOPERS"?

DO YOU KNOW THAT THE EQUITY OF THE RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT IS LAND?

DO YOU KNOW THAT THE LAND IN ISSUE, WERE ACQUISITIONS DONE UNDER DR. PETER ODILI AND EXPANDED BY RT. HON. CHIBUIKE ROTIMI AMAECHI'S GOVERNMENT, IN WHAT WAS DESIGNATED AS GREATER PORT HARCOURT CITY?

TO SHOW THE PRESENT ADMINISTRATION' S INCOMPETENCE, THEY DIDN'T APPLY DUE DILIGENCE. SO, THEY INCLUDED AREAS NOT COVERED IN THE GREATER PORT HARCOURT PLAN.
OF COURSE, THIS ACCOUNTS FOR THE PLENTY COURT CASES INSTITUTED BY OWNERS OF THE LAND AREAS FORCEFULLY INCLUDED IN THE SPAN.

JUST TAKE A JOURNEY TO THE AIRPORT ROAD BY OBIRI IKWERRE, AS IT IS CALLED.
SEE FOR YOURSELF, THE SHORT SHANTIES AND SLUMS LITTERED AROUND AS THE PROPOSED/ONGOING HOUSING PROJECT, LOCATED ON A VERY CONSPICUOUS AND STRATEGIC GATEWAY INTO AND OUT OF RIVERS STATE.

PLEASE, WHEN YOU VISIT THE LOCATION, CRAVE TO BE ALLOWED TO SEE THE ROOMS OF 8/10 SIZE.
WHEN YOU DO, KINDLY REVERT WITH YOUR FINDINGS.

FOR US, AND OBJECTIVE GOOD PEOPLE AND RESIDENTS OF RIVERS STATE, WE CONCLUDE THAT IT IS A GORY SIGHT TO BEHOLD.
SO IRRITATING TO SAY THE LEAST!

*(5) ORGANIC SUPPORT:*

GOVERNOR FUBARA AND HIS GOVERNMENT IN RIVERS STATE EXEMPLIFIED THE WORST CASE OF "MAN'S INHUMANITY TO MAN", FOR WANT OF A BETTER PHRASE OR DICTION.

GOVERNOR FUBARA AND HIS PRAISE SINGERS UNDER THE AUSPICES OF ONE OF GOVERNOR FUBARA'S SPONSORED NON~GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS, "RIVERS WOMEN UNITE FOR FUBARA", EXPOSED VULNERABLE AND HELPLESS AND SEEMINGLY HOPELESS OLD WOMEN TO THE WORLD. THE OLD WOMEN WERE BROUGHT FROM SOME LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS INTO THE STREETS OF PORT HARCOURT, CLAD HALF NAKED IN BROAD DAYLIGHT.

THESE WOMEN, FOR FILTHY AND MISERABLE AMOUNT OF MONEY, WERE MADE TO MATCH THE STREETS OF PORT HARCOURT WITH THEIR HANDOUTS.

WHERE IN OUR HISTORY, HAD ANY GOVERNMENT SPONSORED THE DEHUMANIZING/ÐEFILING OF HER CITIZENS AND SHOWN UP ON INTERNATIONAL/NATIONAL AND LOCAL TELEVISIONS LIKE THE ONE ON FEBRUARY 23RD, 2024, IN RIVERS STATE?

WHAT WAS THE INTENTION OF THESE UNPARDONABLE SOCIETAL MISFITS AND HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSERS SHOW THAT GOVERNOR FUBARA WAS GARNERING ORGANIC SUPPORT?
SO FAKE.

HAS THE GOVERNOR OR HIS ADVISERS OR HIS AMATEUR HANDLERS REFUTED THE ACT/SCENE IN ISSUE EVEN WHEN THE WHOLE WORLD AND INTERNATIONAL/LOCAL ORGANISATIONS STOOD IN CONDEMNATION?
PLS SHOW ONE OF SUCH
ATTEMPTS.

IT WAS SOOTHING TO THE GOVERNOR.

PoliticsUrgent Call for Digitalization of Patient Health Records in Kwara State Hospital by Jimsonjaat86(op):
By.... SALAKO LUKMAN OLAMILEKAN

Dear Honorable Commissioner for Health,

I, a concerned citizens of Kwara State, humbly write to bring to your attention a pressing matter that affects the healthcare system in our state. We urge you to implement a comprehensive database for patient health records in all state-owned hospitals, with a special focus on Offa General Hospital and others.

The current practice of maintaining physical files for each patient, which are often lost or delayed, leads to:

- Delayed diagnosis and treatment
- Inefficient data management
- Increased workload for healthcare personnel
- Lack of accurate data for predictive analytics and disease prevalence measurement
- Reduced transparency and accountability

I propose the development of a secure online database, accessible only to authorized healthcare personnel, to:

- Store and manage patient health records electronically
- Enable easy access to medical history and test results
- Facilitate predictive analytics and disease trend analysis
- Enhance transparency and accountability
- Reduce workload for record-keeping personnel

This digitalization will:

- Save lives by reducing delays in diagnosis and treatment
- Improve healthcare outcomes through data-driven decision-making
- Enhance the overall efficiency of our healthcare system

I believe that this initiative will contribute to a safer and healthier Kwara State for all.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
*SALAKO, LUKMAN OLAMILEKAN*

Politics[op-ed] Mr Governor Sir, Osun Is Becoming An Empire Of Darkness by Jimsonjaat86(op): 11:03am On Jun 26, 2024
In recent times there has been rapid increase in crimes such armed robberies, kidnapping, bags snatching in different streets across Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

Popular roads such as Alekuwodo, Onababaona, Testing Ground, Oke Fia, Osogbo-Ikirun Highway, Ring Road and even densely populated Station Road are among areas that have become dangerous zones for the residents during dark hours.

The communities mentioned above are regularly exposed to various crimes such as robbery and theft which can be attributed to the poor illumination system.

X.com, formerly Twitter, was on fire recently as residents laments increase spate of robbery and mini-kidnapping in Osogbo. The latest advice by the Osun State Police Command to Okada riders on increase records of motorcycles snatching is another pointer to the need for a better illumination.

Moreover, several accidents has been reported due to the dimly lit road in these areas and can also factor in late emergency response which take longer than necessary to reach their destination due to poor visibility at night increasing the risks involved in medical emergencies.

Residents and business owners have expressed their concerns about the darkness that envelops their neighborhoods each night. They furthered claimed that this has affected their business in more ways as they expressed believe the lack of illumination at night has resulted to low patronage and even forced to pack their wares before nightfall for the constant fear of thieves.

This is the same Osogbo that was beautifully illuminated that former Governor Rauf Aregbesola posted about on his X platform.

Former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola also embarked on light up project which catered for some strategic parts of Osogbo but everything has become standing poles as over 90% of installed street lights provide no illumination again.

Mr Governor sir, the lack of street lights in Osogbo is one of the inadequate infrastructural facilities that you promised to address, most especially within the state capital and other cities.

Your Excellency sir, during one your campaigns in Osogbo in 2022 promised to turn "Osogbo to small London" being "a internationally exposed guy". But the this has not become a reality.

In fact, a drive from Akoda to Ota-Efun showed that the few streetlights are in working conditions and they are at Aisu Junction and at the State Secretariat. The remaining over 20km stretch is "empire of darkness" at night.

While residents are lamenting, InsightMedia calls on you, Mr Governor Ademola Adeleke to ensure your name "Nurudeen" which means "Light of Religion" and your political slogan "Imole" becomes a reality on the streets of Osogbo and other cities and towns.

We advise that you direct the Ministry of Works, which coincidentally , you oversee, to conduct a thorough assessment of areas lacking adequate street lighting and develop a phased plan for the installation of lights, prioritizing high-risk areas.

Furthermore, the Government should improve security in poorly lit areas by directing security agencies to increase patrols during the night thereby enhancing the safety of residents until street lighting can be adequately provided.

Establishing a routine maintenance schedule for existing street lights to ensure they are always in good working condition, preventing failure in lighting due to technical faults will go a long way in ensuring the safety of the residents of the area.

The state of street lighting in Osogbo is more than an infrastructural inadequacy; it is a matter of safety, security, and community well-being. The Osun State Government has an important role in ensuring that the streets of Osogbo are safe for all who use them, regardless of the time of day.

PoliticsKwara NNPP Announces Non-participation In LG Elections by Jimsonjaat86(op):
Honourable (Alhaji) Lamidi Isiaka, the Kwara State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has officially announced that the party will not be participating in the upcoming Kwara State Local Government Elections scheduled for September 21, 2024.

This decision is due to ongoing intra-party legal disputes that are currently being adjudicated in Court.

Honourable Shoku, alias Chief Shoku revealed that the party's decision stems from a critical need to resolve internal conflicts through the legal system before engaging in any electoral processes. "Our party is committed to the rule of law and believes that it is paramount to resolve our internal issues to maintain unity and coherence within our ranks," he stated.

The internal disputes within the NNPP have led to the formation of two factions within the party, both of which are currently seeking legal resolution.

Honourable Shoku emphasized the importance of patience and adherence to due process, urging all party members to remain calm and not be influenced by any individuals soliciting funds for nomination forms or any activities related to the local government elections.

"I implore all our members to disregard any calls to contribute money for nomination forms or other election-related expenses. The NNPP will not be participating in this election cycle," he clarified.

It is pertinent to recall that the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC), under the leadership of its Chairman, Alhaji Okanla Baba, has scheduled the local government council elections to take place across the 16 local government areas of Kwara State on September 21, 2024. The election timetable released by KWSIEC includes key dates such as:

- A meeting with the leadership of all registered political parties on June 21, 2024.

- Conduct of political parties’ primaries between June 24 and June 30, 2024.
- Submission and retrieval of nomination forms for chairmanship and councilorship elections from July 1 to July 5, 2024.
- Verification of candidates’ credentials from July 8 to July 19, 2024.

Despite the ongoing electoral activities, the NNPP has chosen to prioritize internal resolution and party unity over immediate electoral participation. Honourable Shoku reassured party members and the public of the NNPP's unwavering commitment to democratic principles and its future role in the political landscape of Kwara State once internal disputes are resolved.

The NNPP leadership remains optimistic about the future and is committed to returning stronger and more unified in subsequent elections.

The party's focus remains on fostering democracy, promoting good governance, and enhancing the socio-political development of Kwara State.

PoliticsKwara: "It's Good To Be Home Again!" - Accord Party Chieftain Rejoins PDP by Jimsonjaat86(op): 8:19pm On Jun 25, 2024
Comrade Tajudeen Hammed Anderson, a prominent businessman and chieftain of the Accord Party in Kwara State, has officially defected to the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Anderson, known for his ownership of Aarif-billahi Blocks Industry and Properties, made the announcement on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, expressing his enthusiasm with the phrase, "It's good to be home again."

Anderson's defection is a significant political shift in Kwara State, where he has been an influential figure within the Accord Party.

It would be recalled that Anderson had defeated to Accord before the 2023 general election. This move followed a series of internal conflicts within the PDP that led to a mass exodus of key members.

Anderson, along with his brother Honourable Abdulwasiu Hameed Ajibola, who contested for the Ojomu/Balogun Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly during the 2023 general election, and Hon (Dr.) Olayonu Olarinoye Tope, alias Danlad, who contested for the Oyun/Ifelodun/Offa Federal Constituency, had previously left the party due to intra-party disputes.

HIS FULL STATEMENT IS REPRODUCED BELOW

Statement by Comrade Tajudeen Hammed Anderson on His Defection to the PDP

Today marks a significant milestone in my political journey as I officially announce my decision to join the People's Democratic Party (PDP). This decision comes after careful consideration and reflection on the values and vision that I believe are essential for the progress and development of our beloved Kwara State. Especially Offa as a community.

Leaving the Accord Party was not an easy choice. However, the internal conflicts and challenges that have plagued the party made it increasingly difficult to achieve our shared goals and aspirations. I am deeply grateful for the experiences and relationships I have built within the Accord Party, and I will always cherish the time spent working alongside dedicated colleagues and supporters.

Joining the PDP feels like coming home. The PDP has always been a party that aligns closely with my principles of integrity, service, and commitment to the welfare of our people. I am confident that under the PDP, we can work together to bring about positive change and development for our communities.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all my supporters, friends, and family who have stood by me throughout this journey. Your unwavering support has been my strength, and I look forward to continuing this journey with you in the PDP.

Together, we will strive for a better Kwara State, where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive and succeed. I am excited about the future and the positive impact we can achieve together within the PDP.

Thank you, and God bless.

Signed
Comrade Tajudeen Hammed Anderson

PoliticsComr Lukman Writes KWHA Speaker, Demands Equitable Distribution Of Development by Jimsonjaat86(op): 11:00am On Jun 23, 2024
Comr SA Lukman Writes KWHA Speaker, Demands Equitable Distribution of Development Projects Across Kwara

Comr Salahudeen Adeyemi Lukman has formally raised issues regarding the uneven distribution of developmental projects within the state.

In a letter addressed to the Honourable Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, Lukman highlights the significant disparities in the allocation of infrastructural projects, predominantly favoring the state capital, Ilorin, at the expense of other senatorial districts, Kwara South and Kwara North.

The letter outlines specific projects that have been concentrated in Ilorin, including the Ilorin Visual Art Center, Ilorin International Conference Center, Industrial Park (ASA), Ilorin Innovation Hub, Garment Factory, Sugar Film Factory, Tanke Flyover, Unity Flyover, University of Education Ilorin, Kwara State University Teaching Hospital, Ilorin Smart City, and the Revenue House, which currently lacks annexes in other regions.

He stresses that such uneven distribution not only hampers the overall development of the state but also risks inciting ethnic divisions, potentially destabilizing the state's political and social harmony.

"If the current trend continues, Kwara State will not develop; rather, ethnic division will be provoked, leaving the state polarized along ethnic lines," Lukman asserts in his letter.

THE FULL LETTER IS REPRODUCED BELOW

The Honorable Speaker,
Kwara State House of Assembly,
Ilorin, Kwara State.

Honourable Speaker Sir,

UNEVEN SITING AND DISTRIBUTION OF DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS: A CALL FOR INTERVENTION

Compliments.

Regarding the subject matter, I respectfully write to express my concern as a young citizen of this great state whose future is deeply affected by these issues.

If the current trend continues, Kwara State will not develop; rather, ethnic division will be provoked, leaving the state polarized along ethnic lines.

While it is understandable that Kwara Central, which houses the state capital, should receive special consideration in terms of infrastructure and amenities to meet the standards expected of a state capital, it is unjust and unethical in a democratic government for other senatorial districts to suffer from a lack of consideration.

It is important to note that development in Kwara is funded by the state's resources, not just Ilorin's. Therefore, no section of the state should be developed at the expense of others.

The incumbent Executive Council in our dear state seems insensitive to the consequences of its continued uneven and biased siting of developmental projects.

If this issue is not addressed, it may further divide our people and endanger our polity. Personalities, competence, and character will be disregarded in electing political office holders, most significantly the Governor, as every tribe will fight to get the seat solely to develop their region.

The rationale behind the following projects, all sited in Ilorin, is questionable, as if Kwara South and Kwara North are not eligible for any developmental projects:

- Ilorin Visual Art Center
- Ilorin International Conference Center
- Industrial Park (ASA)
- Ilorin Innovation Hub
- Garment Factory
- Sugar Film Factory
- Tanke Flyover
- Unity Flyover
- University of Education Ilorin
- Kwara State University Teaching Hospital
- Ilorin Smart City
- Revenue House with no annex in other regions

MY PRAYERS:

The House, as the assembly of the people's representatives, should intervene and address the excesses of the Executive as a matter of public concern with the following actions:

1. Upgrade Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa, to the University of Medical Science and Kwara State College of Education Technical, Lafiaji, to Kwara State University of Technology to balance the move made on COE Ilorin.
2. Decentralize the Revenue House with annex offices in Kwara South and Kwara North.
3. Construct low-cost estates in Kwara South and Kwara North to complement the smart city project in Ilorin.
4. Expedite action on Kwara State University annex campuses at Osi and Ilesha Baruba to justify the State University Teaching Hospital at Ilorin.
5. Complete the Offa-Ikotun (Rondo) road and other roads in major cities across Kwara South and Kwara North to balance the unnecessary multiple flyovers in Ilorin.

These are my sincere requests for your consideration.

Further more, any move by the State House of Assembly to continue to remain mute on this matter of public interest and concern will be conceived by the general public as certification of the House under your Leadership as speaker to this grave injustice and bias tendency of this incumbent administration which may be use against your humbly self and all members of this assembly in future.

I therefore urge you and the entire house to make a move for posterity sake.

It is important to state that this call is not political but is born of a spirit of patriotism and genuine concern for a united and developed Kwara for a greater future.

Thank you in anticipation of your favorable consideration.

Yours Truly,

Hon. Comr Salahudeen A Lukman

Nairaland General[OPINION] The Young Shall Grow by Jimsonjaat86(op): 7:46pm On Jun 21, 2024
By Abdulraheem Sheriffdeen (ASB Famous)

“The young shall grow” is a prayer which could also plant a firm belief in the hearts of teens and youths to rekindle their hope of growing to achieve their dreams and take the burden of their contemporary leaders. This expression goes a long way in resonating with the youth to buckle up in whatever endeavours they aligned with.

Sequel to my past works where I insisted on giving the youths an opportunity in governance beyond political appointments, it’s time for competent youths to take charge of the local level of government in their various localities, if truly the young should grow.

Taking us far to the lane of history between the years 1960 to 1980, Nigerians enjoyed true leadership in the hands of energetic and patriotic youths as heads of state like; Gen. Yakubu Gowon at the age of 31, Gen. Murtala Muhammed at the age of 36, Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo at the age of 38, Gen. Muhammad Buhari at the age of 41, and others. Hitherto, such a feat hasn’t yet been achieved by any other youth, except that of lower positions that are insignificant.

If we can’t be allowed to go where we refer to as the top seat due to our political configuration of the party system, which the bourgeoisies have already dominated, taming the youth with excuses of inexperience while rotating the seat among the gladiators.

But quite unfortunately, youths are the enemy of themselves. Whenever there’s consolidation on the youth agenda, some cheap youths will still be the mechanism of destruction and division in the name of menial and unreliable appointments as media aides and SA’s that can be terminated at their discretion, in just a blink of an eye.

In a short time, local government elections will be conducted in different states, most especially Kwara state where I lived. Undoubtedly, some of our elders in their 50s to 70s will be out to drag the council chairmanship and a position as low as a councilor with the youth. But my message to the aspiring young leaders is,never be intimidated under any circumstances, be steadfast in your approach and remain determined on your agenda irrespective of any challenges that might come your way. You shall triumph.
