Politics / Implication Of Sen Melaye's Appearance In An Academic Gown. by jinha(m): 5:03pm On Mar 31, 2017

IMPLICATIONS OF SEN DINO MELAYE'S APPEARANCE IN AN ACADEMIC GOWN ON THE FLOOR OF NIGERIA SENATE YESTERDAY ON OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM : This piece is from UI registrar.

The Nigerian academic community yesterday, suffered its worse insult in history courtesy of Sen Melaye's appearance on the floor of Nigeria Senate. Perhaps in a bid to prove that he graduated from ABU, Dino Melaye decided to do the unthinkable by wearing academic gown. Many of us may see Dino Melaye's appearance in an academic gown as insignificant and not worthy of note. However, I strongly disagree on the following reasons.

To set the records straight, Dino's appearance yesterday is an affront on anyone who has ever studied hard to pass exams. And I am a bit surprised that ASUU & members of the academia haven't called him out to demand an apology based on the following reasons. All known University statues clearly spels out the conditions when an academic gown can be worn, during matriculation and convocations.

To begin with, Dino Melaye appeared in the wrong outfit, because he was putting on a ceremonial academic gown meant for the senior faculty members. So Dino's first desecration of the academic community was to mock the same system he claims to have many degrees from. He disgraced THEM!

I wonder what was going on in the mind of the VC of ABU when he saw him in a gown. He must have felt betrayed and unforgiving of his defence of Dino, but beyond the euphoria generated by Dino's appearance in a gown are two serious issues:
Who's a Senator and when does a Senator become distinguished?

What does Dino Melaye's mockery of the Nigerian academic community tell us as a people given his position as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria ? Two things readily come to mind here:

It is either a Senate of Law breakers or a Senate filled with Comedians. If not...

What does that tell us as a people?

We are being represented by a group of people who can't differentiate their left from their right. Dino Melaye's inability to differentiate between a ceremonial and an academic gown also confirms the quality of his thinking and mind.

And more importantly, it leads us to question whether Dino Melaye actually had a 3rd class as he claims. Because if he indeed does, he would know that academic gowns, ceremonial or not are not to be worn outside the fours walls of an academic environment.

This leads us by now, we can see clearly the nexus between Dino's bastardization of the University system and his false claim to be a graduate of London School of Economics and Harvard. LSE and Harvard have since gone ahead to dismiss his claim of having their degrees. Harvard in particular said he only attended a one week course. LSE couldn't even find Dino Melaye's name on their database. The same way his name can't be found on ABU's convocation & Alumni list.

So I ask; for how long would we continue to elect misfits & liars like Dino Melaye into positions of authority in this country? How many more of Dino Melaye are we going to continue to live with as a people? At what point are Nigerians going to stop electing crooks? And for how long will this madness continue in our Polity?

Career / Re: Project Management Professional (PMP) Lectures Will Be Going On Here...join Now by jinha(m): 4:08pm On Jun 19, 2016
proddey:
There are two groups of individuals who seek project management certification.

(i) Those who have Project Management experience and have managed project teams before and
(ii) those who haven't managed project teams and have little or no PM experience.

Now before you contemplate writing the pmp exam, it is essential to note that PMI offers two distinct certification exams, Project Management Professional (PMP)

and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

The PMP is for those who have demonstrated experience and competence in leading and directing project teams while the CAPM is an entry level option for those who are new to project management or are still trying to figure out your career path.

So if you're not sure that you have enough PM experience or are somewhat new to PM , then you have to register for the CAPM exam instead. Because when applying for the PMP exam, you would be asked to demonstrate your PM experience in the application form.

To sit for the CAPM exam you don't need any PM experience, you only need 23 hours of PM education training. Youth Corpers and fresh University graduates are not eligible to take the PMP. You have to take CAPM. You need at least 3 years work experience in leading and directing projects before you can take PMP.

Also note that it is the same preparation materials that you'd require for both examinations and the CAPM exam is a lot easier to pass.

Please only contact me for the materials only if you've already gone for the required 35hrs / 23 hrs of training at a registered education provider for PMP / CAPM or you are about to take the classes

Thanks. Will love to have the materials folayanbabatunde@ymail.com

The Nigerian army is just playing mind game with boko haram... They don't know jack about where the chibok girls are, they are believing that in making this pronouncement boko haram will then move the girls out of where they are now and in doing so they can then monitor where the girls will be taken to or better still ambush them when the girls are been taken elsewhere...

Anyways I believe this pronouncement is a calculated one.

Career / 10 Signs You Are Going To Be A Failure. by jinha(m): 4:07pm On Mar 23, 2016
Success leaves clues and so does failure. If you look at the habits of people who generally succeed in the long run they are the polar opposite of those who generally keep on failing.

You can be the most fortunate and blessed person on earth but if you are consistently following these habits, no amount of good fortune can save you.

Here are 10 signs you should watch out for if you want to be successful:

1. You love wasting money and expect your parents to foot the bill

Nothing wrong with parents helping their kids when they are very young or even helping them from time to time even when they are older. But if you keep spending their money frivolously without knowing and appreciating how hard they worked for it, then it means you aren’t mature enough to respect money. And if you don’t respect money, it won’t respect you.

2. You are not disciplined

If you cannot practice discipline then you simply will not succeed. If you always want instant pleasure instead of being willing to tolerate pain today for a payoff in the future, then your life is not much different from that of an animal that only wants food and sleep. If your life is only limited to that, good for you, but you won’t be changing the world anytime soon.

“Confidence comes from discipline and training.” – Robert Kiyosaki

3. You don’t finish what you start

One of the key differences between successful people and failures is that the former usually finish what they start and the latter almost never do. Failures say they want to follow their passion but when the going gets tough, they throw in the towel. Passion isn’t enough if you lack the commitment to go through with it all the way.

4. You love playing the blame game

Yes some people are fortunate enough to get the right opportunities, but without the will to succeed even those opportunities will be absolutely useless. The single biggest factor behind success is how badly you want to succeed and your willingness to take personal responsibility. If all you do is blame your parents, your boss, your friends for your lack of success it means your approach towards life is passive. You believe someone else is in control of your destiny. And once you start believing that, you are doomed.

5. You don’t believe in yourself

If you don’t believe in yourself you are almost certain to fail. Why you ask? It is simple. Those who believe that something is possible make determined efforts to make their dreams come true. Chronic failures on the other hand believe from the very beginning that nothing is going to work. As a result they never put in the effort to succeed or are always looking for signs that prove what they are doing won’t work. Their lack of self belief ensures a lack of action and eventually a lack of success.

6. You don’t set goals

If you don’t have goals it means you don’t know where you are going. If you don’t know where you are going then it is almost certain that you are going to wander around aimlessly. Success is a journey with milestones. But it needs a map to keep you on track. Your goals are your map. If you don’t have them you will end up being lost in the wilderness.

7. You care too much about what others think

Even if people do judge you, it only reflects who they are as a person, it doesn’t reflect who you are. The truth is even if you do end up trying to please some of these people, there will be another group that will find something else to complain about. Stop trying to please everyone, it’s impossible. Instead why not please the most important person in your life? You!

8. You don’t take care of your health

If you don’t take care of your health then no matter how hard you work, it is all going to be worthless because you simply wont be around long enough to actually enjoy the fruits of your labor. A great spiritual leader observed that most people first waste away all their health in pursuit of money and then waste all the money trying to get back their lost health. Why screw up with it in the first place? Take care of your mind and body and it will take care of everything else.

9. You don’t stand up for yourself

If you can’t fight for what you want then don’t cry when you don’t get it. If you don’t fight you will be taken advantage of by others and be crumpled. Yes, being too nice is a bad thing if it kills your dreams in the process. Do not be a doormat. Be assertive and demand what you want, especially if you deserve it. If you are too scared to demand what you want because you think you will be considered impolite, then be content with living the life of a nice guy who is a failure.

“Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.” -Winston Churchill

10. You put money ahead of relationships

Even if you do succeed in your career, you need someone around to actually celebrate with. Nobody is going to be around celebrating with you if you don’t show that you care about them as well. Success in life is not just materialistic, it includes relationships as well. If you ignore relationships for the sake of money, you may be a success in your professional life, but in your personal life you will be an utter failure.
Conclusion

There are many aspects and different meanings to success. Figure out what success looks like for you and then take the necessary actions to go after what you want. If you re-evaluate your life and you see some of these signs, figure out how to improve on them and eventually eliminate them.

Culture / English Language Originated From Yoruba- Ooni Of Ife by jinha(m): 3:37pm On Mar 02, 2016
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has charged Nigerians to strive to promote their mother tongues so as to guard against language extinction.
He said the most spoken languages all over the world today like English had its origin in Yoruba language.
The monarch advised Yoruba speakers all over the world to make use of the language as means of communication in their homes so it won’t go into extinction.

He charged the Yoruba people to remember their roots and pay special attention to the resuscitation, sustenance and growth of their mother tongue if they wished to sustain their culture and identity within the global community.

Oba Ogunwusi gave the charge during the celebration of this year’s “World Mother Tongue Day” which was held at the Oba Okunade Sijuwade Hall, Enuwa, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The monarch also advocated the use of Yoruba language as means of instruction in schools for a proper understanding of their studies as it was done in some other climes.

Tracing the etymological history of languages, Oba Ogunwusi said the most spoken languages all over the world today like English had their origin in Yoruba language.

He berated the situation where these languages are given and receiving attention by the Yoruba people at the detriment of their mother tongue.

He said “the chequered history of Yoruba race with slavery and slave trade wherein their brethren were taken to America and Europe and forced to work in the sugarcane farms did not obliterate their mother tongue completely”.
Nice and tidy.

Celebrities / Re: Basketmouth Shades Olajumoke Orisaguna, The Ex-breadseller (Photo) by jinha(m): 10:43am On Feb 19, 2016
WORDWORLD:
An emphatic YES to Basket Mouth. Even the person that provided the 5 loaf of bread couldnt have gotten the kind of ATTENTION the bread seller turn to model got.

Simply reason is because according to the Bible Jesus Christ said: "IF YOU ARE OF THE WORLD, THE WORLD WILL LOVE ITS OWN. YET BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT OF THE WORLD, BUT I CHOSE YOU OUT OF THE WORLD, THEREFORE THE WORLD HATES YOU" John 15:19

The man who gave the loaves of bread is not of this world, but seeking eternal life hence couldnt have been praised and showered with fame by the world.

But the moment Jumoke accepted to becoming a MODEL, the WHOLE WIDE WORLD STARTED LOVING ITS OWN.

Because unlike selling bread she will be selling her body which is meant to be the temple of God.

Jumoke has been existing in her humble self as a bread seller. If the story had turned out to be like i personally had wished as thus when TY BELLO visited and asked JUMOKE about her preference or if she would love to become a MODEL because the photo of her speaks so.

And Jumoke had hopefully said: I DONT THINK I CAN MEET CHRIST IN PEACE IF I FEED THE EYES OF THE WORLD WITH MY BODY IN SKIMPY CLOTHES..........E.T.C IN THE NAME OF FASHION, CIVILIZATION, ENTERTAINMENT, MODEL.................BUT BUILD ME A BAKERY SO THAT I CAN FEED THE WORLD WITH BREAD.................MY BODY AND SOUL BELONGS TO THE SERVICE OF GOD ALONE AND ONLY MY HUSBAND IS ALOUD TO SEE MY BODY.

PERHAPS SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN WITHOUT ATTENTION LIKE THE PERSON THAT GAVE THE 5 LOAVES OF BREAD TO CHRIST.

HOW THE TEACHINGS OF CHRIST AND MODELING IS AT PAR TO THE EXTENT OF BELIEVING THAT THIS IS AN UPLIFTMENT BY GOD IS AN AMAZEMENT TO ME.

LIFE IS ALL ABOUT CHOICES..............ITS EITHER YOU ACCEPT PRIDE IN POVERTY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND HOME IN PARADISE OR YOU CHOOSE THE WORLD AND THE WORLD WILL HONOUR YOU, RAISE YOU UP BEFORE THEY FINALLY BRING YOU DOWN.

"There is probably an element in of MALICE in the readiness to OVERESTIMATE PEOPLE: We are layiing up for ourseleves the PLEASURE of latter cutting them down to pieces" Eric Hoffer THAT IS THE GOSPEL TRUTH SINCE A MOCKERY OF THE ANONYMOUS AND FAITHFUL FOLLOWER OF CHRIST WHO GAVE THE 5 LOAVES OF BREAD IN NOW AN ENTERTAINMENT BY A MAN WHO WILL ALSO ACCOUNT FOR EVERYTHING THAT COMES OUT OF HIS MOUTH JUSTT LIKE EVERYONE OF US ON JUDGEMENT DAY. OUR SEEKING FOR FAME AND FORTUNES OF THIS WORLD OF VANITY SHOULD NOT TURN US TO BE JUST THOUGHTLESS. COUNT JESUS AND HIS FOLLOWERS OUT OF YOUR PLAY.

Romance / Sex Is The Least Cause Of Divorce − Poll by jinha(m): 4:37pm On Feb 15, 2016
On Thursday, we presented the statistics of divorce rate in some parts of the world and Nigeria. Then we asked what you think the leading cause of divorce could be. We asked if it could be issues relating to money, compatibility or sex. We further asked you to tell us what else you think could be responsible.

poll-divorce

Compatibility, came out tops as the cause of divorce as 44.2 percent of our respondents hold that the two parties entering the marriage contract are mostly blinded by ‘love’ and they only get to see that they are not compatible soon after sealing the deal. Money came in next, other issues third and sex came in as the least reason for divorce.

A dictionary defines compatibility as the capability [of people] to exist or live together in harmony. No wonder many respondents hammer on it with different explanations to back their stand up.

“Many don’t take time to understand each other before they get married. so, they have problems when the realities sets in soon afterwards and eventually divorce when they could not be patient enough to work things out,” a respondent said.

“Compatibility is the main issue because inability to make the required adjustments and changes when people become married is what makes them turn down their earlier declaration of the union. In compatibility is mutual: respect, trust, selflessness, appreciation, dedication, fortitude and alliance to make marriage a huge success,” another respondent said.

“Most people move into marriage based on initial sentimental and not -so – true behaviours. Time brings out the truth in the character and personality of the partners. Often the compatibility issues present themselves at this point. As a remedy, I suggest that truth and sincerity would help,” another respondent said.

Some even hold that compatibility covers everything, “Yes, because compatibility encompasses sex and money. If we are compatible sex won’t be an issue and financial issue will be brought under control.” A respondent said.

Money came in second at 26.4 percent.

“Our poverty entrenched society creates all sorts of misnomer, thus affecting peoples sense of virtue and values, this affects marriage adversely,” one correspondent said.

“The economy is becoming harder and people are finding it very difficult to make ends meet and to be able to look out for each other, the wages are shrinking and making people to think more of themselves only …,” another said.

“Economic wellbeing of a couple is determined largely by financial capability of both partners and either one of the couple. Whenever this is lacking, anyone of the partners that feels most uncomfortable would tend to be tired of the relationship. He/she may decide to walk out of the relationship. Thus economic factor plays a major role in the stability of homes.

Other issues came in third at 17.9 percent. Surprisingly, many respondents choosing the ‘others’ option say feminism and gender equality are responsible for divorce. Some of them say feminism snuffs out the life in humility and that starts the end of the marriage.

“The growing desire of women to be independent. High social profile of the women folk has absolutely made many of them to question the age long tradition of head ship of the man in the family. While modern time has watered down the maximum ruler ship of the man, democracy is the bane of our age. Imposition of self by woman, maybe because of financial power, over the man, is totally unAfrican and in fact to the healthy growth of the family in any clime,” a respondent said.

And one respondent suggested having breaks because of the ‘burden of continuous living together…’

“I have been married for 8 years and can say it may not be any of the aforementioned reasons though I think lack of Money can contribute to it. In my opinion it has to do with the burden of continuous living together without a break. Marriage takes freedom away from both man and woman and after some times this could have negative impact on their marriage. My advise or suggestion is that Man and Woman should take a regular break e.g. one month every 2 years from each other.”

Only a mere 11.4 percent of all respondents said sex was capable of leading to divorce.

“It is sex because it is meant to be enjoyed by a man and his wife. If either of them, especially the man, is not satisfied he may begin to pick up unnecessary quarrel with his wife but unwilling to talk about it in the public. He may then begin to engage in extra-marital affairs. Besides, no woman can keep or maintain a relationship with a man without sex, period,” a respondent said.

“Rising rates of easy access to pornographic material and rising rates of indecent dressing and attitudes especially by celebrities make people
promiscuous.”
