finemocha: Criminals are usually declared wanted and are hunted till they are caught. Simple lyrics, no need using a dictionary to pen a song only your family will buy out of sympathy. nuzo: The jingle you're talking about was in 1996 for Kevin Ugwu on FM Enugu, then it was just 2 & Black and boy did they rock!! I listen to 2, Black & Faze and don't give an eff who's the best Why are we so obsessed with comparison in Naija, is it our complex in always trying to prove that we're better than the next person?, |
Music/Radio / Re: 2face Idibia Featuring Beyonce by Jio(m): 7:11pm On Mar 31, 2006 |
kashmoney: Do you need to be the best before you can do a collabo with Beyonce? Despite all the hating, 2 keeps doing his stuff in his own way and I think that's why he's successful. He doesn't fall into the stereotype you guys want to see. It reminds me of how IT geeks will forever call Microsoft products scrap but one Mr Gates keeps rising to the top. It's the KISS theory. Keep It Simple and Stupid. |

Romance / Re: Involved With A Married Man by Jio(m): 7:29pm On Mar 03, 2006 |
In this time and age, only the desperate 30s should be contemplating polygamy. Can't believe there is a Naija married man who has not shined the Congo and he's promising marriage and giving you a good time. But if it's actually true that you're yet to consumate your relationship, then there is only one word for the promises and trips, BAITING. |
Sports / Re: Is Chelsea Arrogant? by Jio(m): 5:58pm On Feb 28, 2006 |
nightrider:Now I understand why you are so anti-Chelsea. It's the frustration of losing 10 matches in the premiership and NEVER winning back to back premiership. How much did Fergie pay to get a nobody Keano from from Nottingham Forrest? £3.75m in 1993 for a nobody? For others Ruud £19m 2001 Andy Cole £6m 1995 Dwight Yorke £12.6m in 1998 Jaap Stam £10.75m in 1998 Sheringham £3.5m in 1997 Bryan Robson £1.5m in 1981
I never complained about the high fees chelsea pays for players, because then i would have to complain about real madrid and Ac milan and all other great clubs. Rather i complained about the sneaky way Chelsea does it. Alex ferguson said recently that when buying players he has to hide now, because he wouldn't want to alert Chelsea to talent he has uncovered because they have a way of going through the back door. Can you blame him? Robben, duff, Obi taken from Man U , Essien from arsenal, have all been taken through the back door. Chelsea's tapping of Ashley Cole etc.
Robben, Duffy, Obi, Essien. You dropped these names as if they were obscure players before Man and Arsenal "discovered" them. Let me take these one after the other Jose has won 7 (8 if you count this year's premiership) titles in 6 years so what's so special about 17 in 20 years? Jose won Champions League, UEFA Cup, 2 Portugese League and 1 Portugese Cup in 2 and half years with Porto Jose won UEFA and Champions league back to back before anyone called Rafa Jose has won titles with different clubs
Tinkerman was sacked because Chelsea wanted the best. Why should Chelsea be ashamed of losing to Barca? You keep screaming Barca as if Jose didn't oust them last year without a striker. |
Sports / Re: Is Chelsea Arrogant? by Jio(m): 7:32pm On Feb 27, 2006 |
As a die hard Mourhino fan, I can't help but reply night rider. Mourhino has only been a coach for 6 years and for 5 of those years he has won titles. not moi moi titles o, he couldn't have won more than there was to win within the short time he has been a coach. Obviously Nightrider is a Man U fan and before you throw any stone, dig into your club's history and look at the use of money in the recruitment of Steve Bruce, Bryan Robson, Gordon Strachan, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Andy Cole, Teddy Sheringham, Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney to name a few. Have you ever asked yourself why Man U has not been able to produce another set of players like the class of 91 (Beckham and co youth FA cup winning side)? Instead of hating Jose, why not look at the wider picture?? Pay close attention to the influence of Jose, Rafa and Jol. Very soon, Wenger and SAF will belong to the record books. |
Sports / Re: Is Chelsea Arrogant? by Jio(m): 1:14pm On Feb 25, 2006 |
@ababoy1: Which year was Chelsea playing in front of 3000 fans? Hope you're not talking of the Bentley era of the 50s? What tradition are you talking about? First year of RA, Chelsea placed 2nd and the shout was "Money Can't Buy Success" but when Jose came and we won the league it's now "Buying Success with Dodgy Russian Money". If money can buy success, how come Inter Milan has not won serie A title with all the money Moretti has pumped into Inter or the Galaticcos are without a trophy for 3 years? When you hear Blues haters talk, you'll think Chelsea was struggling in the bottom half of the league before RA came. I think the way we won the league in style last season breaking almost all premiership records was too much for some to take. |

demmy: Is Mourihno really a nobody?? Google Jose Mourihno and see his profile. He became a first team coach in 2000 and has won all there is to win in club football. What else do you need to become the "Special One". Before you say it's because of RA's money, check out what he did in Portugal with a budget comparable to a Championship side. A TRUE BLUE for life |

A joke about what Sir Isaac Newton would have done when the famous apple fell in his garden if he was a Nigerian (he would eat the apple and then say "No be God" got me thinking about Nigerian inventions. Not that I know of any invention from Nigeria but watching the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona on TV I couldn't help but wonder what we'd have been our contribution to the WiFi and BiMax world. The first guy I asked said he would prefer a mobile shag detector so that he could remotely and easily tell if his boo was cheating on him. Nairaland people, lets dream of gadgets Nigerians would have contributed to the world if we had the know how. What would you have wanted?? |

Why pay for a distro when I can get Fedora Core with very good community support for free every 6 months oasis: What's your beef with the Hausas? This comment is racist to me. Due you have documented facts to back up your claim or it's just your perception of the Hausa people |
Politics / Re: When will Sub-Saharan Africa be on par with first world countries? by Jio(m): 7:12pm On Nov 08, 2005 |
The collective greed that governs our existence in sub-Sahara Africa has eroded the little (if there was any) value system we had and without this value system we cannot have any meaningful development. 1 Like |

TV/Movies / Re: Americans Don't Watch Nigerian Movies? by Jio(m): 4:14pm On Nov 07, 2005 |
Angela just made a good point, watch Nigerian films when you want to laugh or you really have nothing to do. @Omon.............How can an industry that's at least 13 years old (living in bondage came out in 92) still be in the infancy stage You don't need an IQ to understand a Nigerian movie, in fact the first 20 minutes is enough for you to decipher the whole movie. These movies are meant for the LIGs ( Low Intelligence Group). |

I used to have a hatred for gays and lesbos until I worked for 2 months with an NGO that deals with sexuality...................We have to learn to accept it.............people are born gay but the over-religious and stigma loving country of ours stops these people from openly expressing their sexuality.......................but it won't be for long............................I've friends in naija over are openly displaying their lesbo side........................if my child isn't straight......................what the heck....................I'll always love that child no matter what........................... |

Choosing between your mother and your wife [or babe(s) for singles like us] shouldn't arise at all...............If there's any monster-in-law scenerio, learn to draw the line...............both parties have different and non-conflicting roles in your life....................what you have for your mom is an undying and never ending love ....................and what you have with your wife is a contract that is renewed daily and can be terminated anytime..................... 1 Like |

Music/Radio / Re: 'You Are My African Queen' lyrics (2face Idibia) by Jio(m): 9:06am On May 05, 2005 |
Trae, I have always thought you are an artiste worth his salt but I might have to disagree with your view for once. How can you ever get tired of a classic? Nigerian artistes have produced few classics over the years like Fela's Lady n BONN, Sonny Okosun's 'Which Way Nigeria' and Mike Okri's 'Omoge'. 2Face's 'African Queen', Sunny Nneji's 'Oruka' and Styl-Plus's 'Olufunmi' are the best songs to have come out of Nigeria in this millennium. From your blog, I know you are more disposed to rap music, so would you rather one of Nigerian Rap Songs be rated on same level with these songs? Brother, keep it real! Let's hear it for these guys in 2004. |
