Take it from someone who knows consider all the pros and cons before you get into it. I've seen men leave thier wives because they said that the women gave birth to children who were sicklers. Many men run away from the responsibility of catering for people suffering from sickle cell aneamia. What makes you different from them? Is it this your professed love for her? I hope not because sometimes love is not enough. You must realise that this decision you are about to take is one of a life time, and can also be life altering.
Medically speaking, you are probably the perfect match and truth be told if you really do love her as you say you do then she should marry you. But should you marry her?

1. Do you have the resources for the various medical bills that will come your way? can you Provide for her and give her a relatively stress free life? She must not over exert herself both physically, and emotionally. Anxiety and lack of peace of mind like say worrying about an unfaithfull husband can land her in the hospital with a serious episode of crisis.

2. I suggest you see her experiencing one of her crisis sessions. it might last as long as three of four days. be there for the whole ordeal. if you go through that then you'll be better equiped to know if you can go through this for the rest of your life or hers.
If you honestly answer these questions then you'll know what to do. Good luck.
P/s It really can work. i know a guy who married an ss and they now have four beautiful kids 2boys and 2 girls. the last two was a set of twin. you just need to be dedicated and probably get her help in the house to asist with the kids and house chores.

great news the problem has been solved it turned out to be the fuel pump so i bought a new one and the car is as good as new. I'm very grateful to you guys for all the help. thanks its nice to know that people are willing to help in time of distress.

no there is no light on. the car seems perfectly normal until i get to a red light or need to apply the brakes then it just goes off.irespective of wether the ac is on or not. i put it back on neutral and start the engine it starts up immediately like it never stopped. and all this while there is no light on the dash board.
they were tampering with things on the throtle board and then some hoses. they even cleaned the plugs and another mechanic is alleging that it might be the fuel pump. the thing is i don't even know if they know the IAC or PCV cause i don't.
to say the truth i only know how to put water and then check if there is oil in the car. I think all these mechanics in PortHarcourt are WACK. maybe they are as ignorant as i am.

sultaan i took the car to the repairers and i think its gotten worse. i told them about the vacumm problem the iac and pvc thing and they seemed to agree but it still has not been solved. i noticed that the problem gets worse when my fuel level is on the low side. I cant' find a good rover auto repair guy, and a friend of mine has directed me to a repairer that specializes in legend automobiles. i'll be taking it to him tomorrow and i pray that he'll be ale to solve the problem.

I've got a 1995 rover coupe with a 6 cylinder legend engine and it just developed a fault. when ever i press my brakes the car goes off. i then have to put off the radio and ac put the car in neutral and start it up again, then it starts with no problem. I've taken it to the mechanic and they can't seem to solve the problem. I'm afraid to drive the car for this reason. what could be causing this problem and how do i solve it? pls help me quickly.

As a sickler my self I can honestly tell you that the worst thing parents can do is to knowingly bring a child into this world to suffer. My parents got married without knowing anything about the genotype. They got to learn about Sickle cell anaemia after giving birth to me. So from the tender age of 6months I've more or less lived in the hospital. I've been fortunate enough to  be in a family that is well off or else I don't know what I would have done. A class mate of mine that was a sickler died when we were in sec. school cos there was no money to pay her bills and she was refused treatment at the hospital. Are you ready to be running in and out of the hospital almost every month? and even if you are can you watch your child suffer through agonizing crisis believe me when I say that the pain is indescribable and unbearable. I wouldn't even wish for the devil himself to go through such trauma. the only thing that can relief the child are narcotics that will knock the person  off and at that the strongest of these drugs can only keep you sedated for about two hours. then the agony starts all over again because as long as you are conscious, the pain is worse than  someone taking a hammer to break every single bone in your body one after the other. Even when the child is not in crisis he or she cannot lead a normal life. For me I can't stand for up to 10mins at a stretch I get dizzy can't stay in crowded places cause I need a lot of oxygen. the plain fact is the child must not do anything strenuous and that includes going out and running around with kids their age. the child must be under constant supervision. He or she could squat or bend down and as he is about to get up, an agonizing pain shoots through his or her spine and waist and it is as if the bone is broken the crisis has started. In several cases the child that is born without any deformity may become a cripple from one of the crisis. What about the need for blood transfusion in this time of HIV? as this is always a possibility with children of sickle cell. the constant taking of drugs every single day of their life. believe me its not easy to bring up a child like that. And these children can be the most stubborn lots in the world everything they are told not to do is what you see them doing.  It is not an easy life you want to get into So if you choose to go ahead I hope you have got lots of money for medical bills, energy for sleepless nights, and bucket for your wife's tears because you are going to need it. You should also know that most Sicklers don't live past the age of 20. they say you out grow it but I've come to realise that its a lie. I'm now 24 Thank God for his mercies But I still go through excruciating crisis as I did when I was a child. I go to the hospital every month end infact it is like my second home I've even gotten used to spending the holidays there Christmas included. Recently I was sent to NYSC camp at the end of the first day I had a serious breakdown just from the registration process alone. I was immediately rushed home the next day. I URGE YOU STRONGLY PLEASE DON'T KNOWINGLY BRING A CHILD WITH SICKLE CELL ANAEMIA INTO THIS WORLD. IT IS THE MOST HORRENDOUS THING A HUMAN BEING CAN DO TO ANOTHER HUMAN AND THEN TO CLAIM AFTERWARDS THAT YOU LOVE HE OR SHE IS JUST PLAIN HYPOCRITICAL AND WICKED.

As far as I am concerned this NYSC thing should be scrapped faster than you can say Go. It is the most wicked thing this government and the universities can do to fresh graduands. Take me for example, I graduated in July 2005, was supposed to go for service in september of that year but my stupid school was not fast enough and nobody from the entire school was sent for service. I relaxed said no qualms @ least I was not alone besides I was working I would go for service in February 2006. It has come and gone where am I? still @ home Just cos there was a botch up by the same stupid University. OK @ least I will go in September right? Wrong again I did not go and I still had hope I had a strong faith and believe. Infact I knew that I Would go In February 2007. I saw the list that was to be sent to Abuja hard copy and all in Black & white. I even quit my Job in December 2006 Just so I could rest for a month before I serve my stupid blasted Nation Boy was I wrong, Stupid and foolish. February has come and gone and again the entire school did not go again cos they submitted their list late. I have ended up spending months doing entirely nothing. My faith was dwindling but it was still there they just had to add more names and presto I'm off for NYSC. Now its the Turn of the government to kick me in the gut while I'm still down so they introduced the Quota thing. [flash=200,200]http://Bleep THE GOVERNMENT & UNIPORT[/flash]. To me Government can't run itself how do they intend to tk care of their youths and the federal and state universities are like all other government institutions they lack moral code of conducts, work ethics and discipline, in short they should not exist @ least if my School was Privately Owned They wouldn't dare keep me @home for two yrs .The ppl that were responsible for this injustice would have lost their jobs and it would serve as a warning to others. I just graduated with a 2:2 from the university of port Harcourt in August 2005. i read education (chemistry) and possess the degree B.sc(ed). the problem i am facing right now is that i have just discovered that i am not suitable for most of the jobs available in Nigeria. can someone help me with suggestions on what to do?
          i mean what direction should i focus my career because it is now obvious i need to take a course or something.
although i have not yet served I've been working in the Accounts department of a marketing firm since October 2005. i use their accounting package orion which is kind of oracle based. and i also do other office jobs.
          i would love to leave there immediately i start service as the pay is very poor. the problem is i won't be well equipped to face the Nigerian labour market.   
          please someone should help me quick.

then to both of u that is tenhap and u mek, i would really like to know how to get a job in any of the UN organizations. I've already become a member of the galaxy recruitment. but most of the jobs i see there I'm not qualified for.
         it has been a life long dream of mine to work for the UN. i studied education/chemistry in the university of portharcourt and i just graduated with a 2.2 in 2005. I'm hoping to get into UNESCO. Right now I've not served but I've been working in a company as an accounts officer since October last year. i carry out some of the activities tenhap mentioned like assist in the payment of salaries, suprevision of filing, preparation of receipts, sales orders, invoices, purchase orders, good receipt notes and also go to the bank at times i also help my boss keep track of his appointments and i deal with customers. oh i am also computer literate and in my office we use the oracle (orion) accounting package. i also process the activities at the end of the day.
          can any of you guys help me? pls i would be really grateful.
