Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo estimates that iPhone 12 preorders are more than twice the level seen for the iPhone 11 last year. He says that preorders reached somewhere in the 1.7M to 2M range within the first 24 hours, contrasting this with a 500k to 800k range for the iPhone 11. However, while it has been widely predicted that Apple’s first 5G phones would generate another ‘super-cycle,’ similar to that seen when the company launched the first larger-screened devices which debuted in the iPhone 6, there isn’t yet the evidence to support this scale of demand.... Kuo says that first 24-hour orders for the iPhone 6 were around 4M. However, this year only two of the four iPhone 12 models are yet available for pre-order. Pre-orders for the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max don’t officially open until November 6, though some carriers will open theirs before then. In terms of the split between the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, Kuo estimates that demand for the more expensive model is higher than expected. The standard model was expected to be the more popular of the two, but early signs in iPhone 12 preorders suggest that demand is split equally between them. This is interesting when you consider the relatively few advantages of the Pro over the standard model: * Telephoto lens * LiDAR scanner * Max storage of 512GB (versus 256GB) * Small difference in brightness (800 nits versus 625) * Apple ProRAW * Night mode portraits Looking ahead to when all four models are available, Kuo predicts the following splits: * iPhone 12 mini: 10-15% * iPhone 12: 30-35% * iPhone 12 Pro: 30-35% * iPhone 12 Pro Max: 15-20% He believes demand for the mini will be hit by the fact that it doesn’t support dual SIMs, which are popular in China. Demand for small-screen phones is low in the Chinese market anyway, so the combination of factors will limit sales. The good news for Apple in China is that a combination of two factors are boosting demand for this year’s iPhones. First, demand for Huawei smartphones – a popular alternative to iPhones – has been hit by the US export ban, which means that they are no longer available with Android support and Google apps. Second, Apple’s move into 5G has come at the right time for the country, when there is significant infrastructure and marketing for the faster mobile data standard. Kuo says the impact on AAPL’s share price is harder to predict. It will depend first on whether pre-orders for the first two models are indicative of sustained demand into November, and second whether demand for the iPhone 12 mini and Pro Max models matches expectations. MagSafe chargers and cases have begun arriving ahead of the iPhone 12. The phones themselves have also begun to ship, though Apple’s delivery contract specifies that they are not to be delivered before Friday. So basically, Apple is still Apple, no matter what happens, Apple fans are still going to buy their products.

Chivic6452:Try holding the power and volume up or down to boot into fastboot, if you are able to do this then your problem is half solved, get back to me. And if you cant turn it on at all then you’ll need the Qualcom Flash Tool, forgotten the exact name. |
teamsynergy:Very true, and the blocky design of the iPhone 12 makes it prone to much damage when it drops naked, it won’t even flip, It’ll just drop flat. Apple always claim they have the strongest glass on each of their flagships but we all know how it’ll turn out when it drops. |

Apple this week announced its new Apple Watch and iPad models at the company's 'Time Flies' virtual event. Among the products announced, the Apple new iPad Air garnered a lot of attention as it carries Apple's latest A14 Bionic chip, which is also expected to power the upcoming iPhone 12 series. Now, ahead of the new iPhone launch, it would be interesting to see how Apple's A14 Bionic chip fares against some of the other players like Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 SoC, or Samsung's Exynos 990 that powers its Galaxy Note 20 series. Part of that excitement can be satiated now, as a new report shows that Apple's A14 Bionic chipset has lost to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 SoC in an AnTuTu benchmark test. Reliable tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) recently put screenshots of an AnTuTu comparison of the Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max and Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max, which will be powered by Apple's A14 Bionic chip. The results show the iPhone 12 Pro Max achieved a total benchmark score of 572,333, which is much lower than the 629,245 benchmark score when tested on an Asus ROG Phone 3 that runs on the Snapdragon 865+. We were not able to verify the authenticity of the iPhone 12 Pro Max scores independently. If true, this will mean a significant victory for Qualcomm, which has been losing out to Apple in the chipset race for the past few years. The scores can also be lower as the iPhone 12 Pro Max might not be running on a final version of the software. It is likely that the A14 Bionic chip can put out more performance if paired with a stable software and device. All of this will be cleared soon, as the next generation of Apple's iPhone is set to launch in the coming weeks. Apple's A14 Bionic chip is the world's first 5-nanometer chip to make it to a consumer device. Apple says that it has squeezed in 11.8 billion transistors in the A14 Bionic chipset. This helps the A14 Bionic to deliver 40 percent better overall performance, and 30 percent better graphics than the A13 Bionic chip that powers the iPhone 11 series. https://twitter.com/UniverseIce/status/1306543787762544640?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1306543787762544640%7Ctwgr%5Eshare_3%2Ccontainerclick_0&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fd-22876512991058279207.ampproject.net%2F2010010034001%2Fframe.html

elvischukie:It kinda looks somehow when you go from an ios device (iPhones 6s+ and higher) to an android device, you’ll feel it in the performance, that’s why it’s recommended to go for high spec android Like the Redmi Note 9s when coming from iOS so you’ll not feel like the phone is slow. I did the same thing you did , i changed from iPhone 6splus to Redmi Note 9 Pro and i can tell you the experience was very good. Am back to iOS now tho (iPhone XR) cos the phone is way too big for my hands and I just feel like changing ecosystems, although i still have a redmi 7a just to have the feel of the wide range of miui features. |
Please recommend a good phone for me, a phone having huge battery for long lasting time browsing the internet. Below is my spec and budgetSamsung M31 is the one for you. |
