Jobs/Vacancies › Re: How Being Educated Brought The Biggest Shame Of My Life by jkbee(m): 9:15pm On Jun 05, 2017 |
Beosten: I grew up in a town where there were four government primary schools. Note that there was nothing like private schools there in those days. I was a popular pupil then, because I was winning inter-school competitions for my school. I was a class captain throughout, and senior prefect.
I repeated this feat in my secondary school, and became almost a household name in a town of over 50 thousands dwellers. My type should have worked harder to earn good grades in the university, and probably get retained. But I was hustling to fund the education, and consequently shared my time between earning money and lectures. So, handouts and photocopies were my learning aids. I graduated with second class lower.
My fame soared when, during my university days, my school principal invited me to teach finalists Mathematics due to dearth of teachers.
Fast forward to 2017, no job is forthcoming. A brother of mine from a different mother now owns a car and an auto-mechanic shop. He was known as a very poor student because people wondered at such discrepancy in IQ of related brothers.
To keep body and soul together, I'm doing a job that requires me rendering a service from door to door everyday. I make at least 25k in this job monthly compared to 13k these proprietors are offering me--their argument is that B.Tech degree is not suitable for teaching. It's a common knowledge that only the uneducated and street urchins do this kind of job I do now.
Now I rendered the service to a couple who happened to know me back in the days. I couldn't recognize them at first. The wife was a classmate of mine with four children while the husband was a senior student in our high school then. The husband recalled how the then English teacher used me to ridicule the SS3 students to which he belonged. They couldn't pronounce 'colonel' correctly. So, he shopped for me in JS1 and I got it right. Living in a city now, I didn't think of it that I could easily run into my contemporaries.
"Is this not Yemi?" he asked rhetorically. "Didn't you proceed to the higher institution? How come you are doing this kind of job?" he continued.
The wife reminded me of her name, and I recognized her.
If 17k is used for feeding, 2k for consumables monthly, how much will I be able to save to start a decent business? Note that responsibilities like parents and siblings in needs make it difficult to have savings.
Venting one's frustrations on keyboard these days is soothing, so I'll advice you be like me. Hmmm... I feel for U Bro... God wl pick Ur call, no be Ur fault don't be too hard on Urself. |

As it was in the day of Noah... I Pet3:3 Above all, youmust understand thatin the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised?Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. |

Celebrities › Bisi Alimi Voiced His Support For Kemi Olunloyo, Called Her Haters 'sham' by jkbee(op): 4:17pm On Apr 01, 2017 |
Bisi Alimi reacts to Kemi Olunloyo's arrest, says it is a shame to the country . Gay Nigerian, Bisi Alimi, has taken to his Instagram page to express his displeasure of the arrest and detention of controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo. On Thursday, March 30, it was reported that Olunloyo had been remanded in prison for the second time in two weeks after she was granted bail. She doesn't deserve to be arrested. Alimi expressed that the shame of Olunloyo is the shame of the whole country, adding that the act would only make her more popular. He further added that religious people who believe she deserves to be locked up are a disgrace to the country. he wrote below:"The shame of a nation: @hnnafrica has fortunately or unfortunately become the shame of this shameless country called Nigeria. This image will forever linger in our memory and it will make Ms Olunloyo more popular than anticipated. The plan was to crush her but it is not going to work. But to a more pressing issue. The arrest of Ms Olunloyo in a democratic, supposedly religious country for commuting absolutely no crime is nothing but a sham and a shame. A shame to the dignity of the democracy of the country call Nigeria and a shame to his people. This is the same country that idiotic Dino is being laughed out and not locked up. I don't care what you think of Ms Olunloyo, but if you are religious and think she deserves this, then something is wrong with you. If you believe in social justice and you think she deserves, then you are a sham, if you have humanity and think it's her fault then you are nothing but a disgrace. No matter what her offences are, she doesn't deserve this uniform nor the prison." Think Naija cares? |

Nigerian graduate with '2 masters degree' turns ‘party clown’ to make a living. The issue of unemployment in Nigeria is on the high side and it appears the government is not bothered about it and ready to make amends. Graduate with 2 Masters Degree turns party clown at children's partyA man identified as Osazee Edigin, took to his Facebook handle to post pictures of a Nigerian graduate who turned into a ‘party clown’ in order to make a living. He posted the guy’s picture saying: “That moment I was beginning to have hope that Nigeria will get better, I came across a graduate with TWO MASTERS DEGREES in a Mascot regalia doing MC job for a one year old birthday party. Whoever may have contributed to where we are today will never have peace whether dead or live. I feel like considering Libya.” So pathetic!

Politics › Fayose's Six Shocking Prophecies For 2016 by jkbee(op): 11:54am On Dec 18, 2015 |
Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose, has come up with unbelievable prophecies for Nigeria in 2016.
He gave the prophecies during a press briefing in Lagos on Sunday, December 13, 2015. Fayose had lambasted the Senate for the controversial ‘Bill for an Act to Prohibit Frivolous Petitions and Other Matters’ otherwise known as the anti-social media bill. Fayose said the bill was part of a plot by the All Progressives Congress to hide corruption and prevent Nigerians from exposing them. He also said the intention of the Senate to gag the social media is one of the wishes of the President Buhari.
He however went further to say that: “We are going to release a lot of things. They have attempted to cow everybody and that is why they are sponsoring the anti-social media bill in the National Assembly. They want to cow the press and the people. I am surprised that the media is quiet about this bill. The press can’t talk again, they are afraid and it shouldn’t be so.
“Most of those who supported Buhari one way or the other will regret it because when you promote a lion and don’t remember to guard the claws and the jaws of that lion, one day, you will end up in its stomach,” he warned.
The governor predicted 15 things that would happen in Nigeria in 2016. He said:
1. Corruption under Buhari will be on the increase, poverty in the nation will be at its highest in history. He said: ‘I want to tell you that power generation will be at its lowest ebb in 2016. Our earnings will be low. I can’t remember some (predictions) but I will address another press conference to tell Nigerians what to expect. We cannot continue with this deceit and propaganda.’
2. Power generation would drop while 6.7 million Nigerians would lose their jobs.
3. Chibok girls would not return in 2016.
4. There will be removal of oil subsidy within the first-quarter of next year.
5. There will be so much disobedience to court orders.
6. “In 2016, our girls will never come back because the BBOG people has started enjoying the booty. Why will an armed robber be fighting a pickpocket?”
The governor ended by condemning the federal government’s probe of a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki. He urged the President to “make public, the monies spent by the Office of the National Security Adviser in the last 16 years.”
Fayose never gets tired of attacking President Buhari. Recently, he urged the president to resign if he cannot solve the economic hardship in the country.
Before that, he had accused Buhari of being selective in the fight against corruption, saying he should be bold enough to probe Obasanjo’s administration and others so that his anti-graft war can be total. https://www.naij.com/670949-2016-chibok-girls-will-never-return-5-shocking-prophecies-gov-fayose.html |
