All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in the North East geo-political zone have endorsed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as Presidential candidate for the 2015 elections.

Director General of the Atiku Support Group, Abdulrazaq Namdas, stated this at stakeholders zonal rally at the Zaranda Hotel, Bauchi, on Sunday.

He called on all the people in the North East and Nigerians in general to support Atiku for President, as it would solve the leadership challenges confronting the nation.

Namdas said the former Vice President has all its take to serve as President, with the wealth of administrative experience, business and cordial relationship with all sections of the country.

He said Atiku is a detribalised leader who should be supported in the interest of the much desired Igbo Presidency.

He described him as a “selfless person and democrat that we want him to come and salvage the nation’s democracy”.

Namdas said Atiku has judiciously contributed to the promotion of unity and religious tolerance in the country.

Also speaking Bauchi State Coordinator of Atiku Abubakar for President, Shehu Barau Ningi, said: “We should come out en masse and rally round the former Vice President the political giant, and administrator par excellence

“As you can see, Nigeria of today is not the same with Nigeria of yesterday, the kind of challenges we are facing today are not same with the kind of challenges we faced some years back, crime rate has risen to a new level and criminal activities have taken a new dimension such as arm robbery, theft, thuggry, prostitution and drugs abuse are no longer seen as crimes,” Ningi said.

He added: “That is why we are calling on the party not to hang its fate on a new comer but rather on Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who has established himself and is indeed a household name in Nigeria politics.”
