It is that time of the month when most salary earners smile home. Some have been paid and some are yet to be paid.

Personally, I haven't had a full time job in over 4 years because of school. My first full time job before I gained admission paid me 8k per month.

I recently landed a full-time job (remote) that offered me a monthly pay of 500k. As a final year student, who has never earned this amount of money in a month, I'm blown away �.

So what's the highest amount your full time job has paid you?

Hello guys, I believe this will be the best section to post this.

I've been independent since I was like 18 years old. I'm currently a final year student, and I've sponsored my way since I was in SS3 up until now.

Since I gained admission into the University, I have lived in a family (maternal) compound. I was paying all kinds of bills except rent.

About a month ago, I was given 3-days notice to vacate the portion of the compound I was occupying (a self-con). This came as a big shocker for me as I was unprepared and very broke at that time. I moved in with a neighbor, and my living condition has not been delightful.

By the grace of God, I was able to raise about 400k from my business ( I freelance on Upwork). I paid about 280k for a self-con apartment 2 days ago (Yes, houses in Calabar are expensive).

The apartment I paid for was recently built, and I will be the first tenant to move in. Now, here's where the problem lies, the apartment does not have a borehole yet, they rely on water-board, and the water supply in Calabar is terrible. I feel cheated because I simply churned out 250k, and sometimes I will be going outside my apartment to get water.

I blame myself for not taking my time to inspect the compound. The agent I used was not sincere; as a matter of fact, because of desperation, I paid about 6 agents, and I discovered "these so-called agents are a bunch of time wasters and insincere lots, who are just after inspection and agent fees".

I've met the landlord and talked to him about the water situation, and he told me he has plans of fixing a borehole but maybe not anytime soon.

So yeah,as a first-timer I believe I made a mistake in renting this apartment. Any advice for me, will be much appreciated.

Almost everyone in Nigeria with access to the internet has some sort of formal education, but spending a little time browsing through social media channels and forums will make you question if some of these people immerge straight from the bush.

It has become a norm for people to quickly result to insult and abuse when a person raises an issue contrasting to their opinions. People with uncouth behaviours are littered all over the internet. Amazing thing is, these are mostly young people (a large number of them are either in higher institutions or with secondary education).

I believe this issue is as a result of bad parenting and a failed educational system. Parents don't teach their children to treat people with respect, and the schools fills our heads with Chemistry, Physics and Math, while they ignore human relations. The religious system has a share of the blame too.

A young lady who made front page on NL created a thread about a guy making threats about her life and her not knowing what to do. Majority of the commenters resulted to abusing her instead of giving advice.
Empathy has been thrown out the window....quite pathetic.

That thing is an eyesore. This is where Cross Rivers and Akwa Ibom states are always miles ahead.. Erecting bill boards in a very irritating and haphazard way is so common in Nigeria. It's ugly and seriously defaces the environment.. I also think that where they are allowed, regulations should be stiff on standards. We need to start seeing beutiful billboards.. Not all these metallic objects everywhere..

Phone gurus in the house I am very loyal.

I currently use a Google Pixel 2xl and the thought of upgrading has been on my mind for a while. The 2xl is a really decent phone no complaints here. Although, it has it's short comings like for example it's a mono sim phone and has no headphone jack.

I would have loved to get an higher version of the Google series but they're expensive for me right now.

I'm really not a heavy phone user, I just need a phone with a decent camera (that beats the quality of the pixel 2xl) and enough space.

So please is the Oppo A93 a good option?

It's not bro, AliExpress was my last resort. I use a HP pavilion gaming-15. The screens I could find around worked but did not fit properly. They were all to big.

Hey guys, I bought a laptop replacement screen on AliExpress about 3 weeks ago. I wanted to get it as quickly as possible and I opted for shipping using DHL.

First my package spent 7 days in transit before shipping and it took 4 days to arrive at Lagos. My major issue now is my package status is current on hold since Monday last week. I have contacted DHL support several times throughout last week and I was told my order is being held by customs and they are working on clearing it.

Please had anyone else experienced this issue before?

I use the Google pixel 2xl and it is by a mile better than these phones this Chinese companies produce. I will even advice anyone to go for the Samsung A or M series than getting an Infinix or Tecno phone.

I have a a very close friend who was in the army that confidentially told me that some top generals in the Nigerian army in bed with these terrorists. He told of one particular incident that made them cry like a baby. They were laying ambush for this book haram terrorists. He said that they were sure a top book haram general was on the move and they outnumbered the terrorists. As they waited patiently, all of a sudden the convoy of the terrorists stopped and they received and order for a commander somewhere to immediately evacuate that area and return to base. Guys I hate snakes and I'm really scared of them. Just this evening about 10pm I saw a long snake in my backyard, honestly the sight of it sent shivers down my spine. After standing still for over a minute, before I could mutter the confidence to get a stone and try to kill the snake from a very far distance, it crawled.

Right now I can't sleep knowing a snake is around somewhere.
I am 24 and gosh snakes scared me more than anything else. What can I do to get rid of these things please?

My friends mom travelled to Kano from Calabar since on Tuesday. We last heard from her that Tuesday evening. This woman is just so stubborn we told her that this wasn't the best time to travel but she didn't listen. I just hope she's safe.
