Official:
UPDATE ON 2017/18 NECO RESULT
Please, If you know that you had sat for NECO 2017 (this year,), Just be patient dear and keep your fingers crossed. The result is about to be released.
The information reaching TOJESUS has it that the examination's body has just started the final stage of the marking process. A stage called "Proof Marking".
I was just told this morning by a reliable source, that the result will be released soonest. The result won't exceed 3rd week of this September, in order to allow candidates to make use of their results for 2017 admission processes.
# MY ADVICE:
If you know that you want to make use of this year's NECO for your POST UTME/screening registration of your chosen school, please just go ahead and pick their form and put "Awaiting Result". When the result is finally released, you can then upload yours in the school portal or present it during your admission clearance....simple!
Don't be waiting for NECO result to be out first before you can register, because you might end up loosing the admission form.
Putting "awaiting Result" does not stop you from being admitted. It's your POST UTME that will determine your admission.
Success to you all.

Good evening all, that was posted on fb, please I want to ask is it possible to do what is suggested in this write up and also is it advisable to do so?

Jyoti Amge, world’s smallest and shortest woman according to the Guinness World Book of Records, has finally tied the knot. Amge married the love of her life, a man who has promised to love her till the end of time.
Jyoti Amge who was born on 16 December, 1993, was on her 18th birthday officially declared the world’s smallest woman by Guinness World Records with a height of 62.8 centimeters (2 ft 0.6 in). Her restricted height is due to a growth abnormality called achondroplasia.
However, her union has sparked outrage online, as media users are more concerned about their activities in the ‘other room’. Lol

Hi Folks,
I came in through Logan Intl Airport, Boston just yesterday and it was a breeze. No serious interview other than how long are u staying, what food items do you have on you etc. I flew Qatar Airways, i should say it was indeed a long flight. I just want to thank everyone who's share their experience here. Though I wanna check with you guys, the CBP stamped our passport but the 6months deadline wasn't specified, infact the "until" date was blank. Is that the new trend?
How cheap or expensive was your flight ticket.

@ Mr. historian
Now that the ban on post ume has been lifted, does this mean, if someone pass waec and jamb and doesn't pass post ume ,no admission for that candidate.
Or what if someone passes jamb and has some defect in waec but passes post ume does it imply that such a person can get admitted.
PoliticsDespite Agitations, Nigeria Won't Breakup: GOWON by Joan011(op): 2:53pm On Jul 25, 2017
- A former Head of State, Gen Yakubu Gowon (rtd), has expressed optimism that Nigeria will remain united despite the agitations
- Gowon believes that the youths of the country hold the power to make it great again
A former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, on Monday, July 23, said Nigeria will remain one despite the agitations in the country and other developments threatening the unity of Nigeria.
Gowon spoke at a forum lead by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and which is the 50th anniversary programme of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Ibadan, Oyo state.
The dignitaries present at the event were the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, who represented acting President Yemi Osinbajo; the Oyo State Deputy Governor, Moses Alake, who represented Governor Abiola Ajimobi; and the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Punch reports.

NAIJ.com gathered that others at the ceremony were the President, African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina; Chief Joe Makoju, who is the Special Adviser to President, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote; and other dignitaries from across Africa.
Gowon said: “I am not scared for the unity of the nation. I have confidence in Nigeria and the youths of this country that they will make sure that they take over and do better than we left for them.
“I have no fear that all these rantings and so on, no; I have confidence that the youths of this nation will keep Nigeria going and make it greater. Diversity is our source of unity and strength.”
He also said that there must be concerted efforts to trigger the interest of the nation’s youths in agriculture.
He also said: “The average age of farmers in Nigeria is 60 years; soon, they will pass on and that includes me. We have to encourage the younger ones to be interested in agriculture so that they can take over from the older generation that have been feeding the nation.
''This is what happens in Europe, America and China today and we must encourage it in Nigeria.
“During our time, agriculture was the main thing and plans were made for agro-allied development.
''We started to clear big areas for agriculture and inviting the federal and state governments, private sectors and even individuals to get involved in agriculture.”
In his speech, Obasanjo urged African countries to increase their interest in all aspects of agriculture and research while effort must be made to engage more women in agriculture.
The former President said: “Looking back, lITA has been a major blessing to the continent of Africa. In the past 50 years, the institute’s research has helped to avert major disasters that plagued African staples, including cassava and maize.”
Osinbajo, who was represented by Ogbeh, said Nigeria was heading for 450 million in population, arguing that feeding such a large population would be tough but possible.
Osinbajo: “At over three per cent growth per annum, we are reportedly heading for 450 million persons by the year 2050; but feeding 450 million is tough though not impossible.
“If China and India did it, we too can. So, as we move on, we must reflect on the challenge of quantity of output and quality of consumption. And to achieve this, we urge you (IITA) to engage in more research.

A change to foreign student visa policies being discussed at the United States Department of Homeland Security would require international students to reapply annually for permission to stay in the United States, according to the Washington Post.

The change being discussed would attach an end date to a student’s study programme. Under current federal regulations, a foreign student’s immigration status is valid as long as he or she is enrolled in college or university and follows the rules. Students can transfer from one educational institution to another and many remain in the country for years without having to reapply, the Post said.

The proposal also would require students to reapply for permission to stay in the United States if they move from one programme to another, such as from undergraduate to graduate school. Foreign students who need more time to complete their studies could also be required to apply for an extension.

Foreign students pay a one-time fee of about $200, but that could change if the proposal moves forward, the Post reported.

The Post noted that the idea, far from being a done deal, would require regulatory changes, which could take at least 18 months.

Citing two unnamed Department of Homeland Security or DHS officials, the Post said the proposal was prompted by concerns that current federal regulations for student visas are too open-ended.

A DHS report released last month found that students were among those most likely to overstay their visa. An estimated 2.8 per cent of the more than 1.4 million student and exchange visa holders in 2016 overstayed their visas, more than double the national average for visitors.

DHS spokesman David Lapan confirmed to the Post that the agency “is exploring a variety of measures that would ensure that our immigration programmes — including programmes for international students studying in the United States — operate in a manner that promotes the national interest, enhances national security and public safety and ensures the integrity of our immigration system”.

The change, if implemented, could be expensive for universities and would likely dissuade more foreign students from studying in the United States.
