Rent in regional areas are very cheap compared to the city. Someone I know pays $70 per week as rent in Newcastle, while I pay higher in Burwood. Jobs: I can't say for certain if non-regional areas have more jobs than regional areas. Although Population can be a discerning factor. Cost of Living. Know your stomach, budget your feeding in a month and try to cut down on unnecessary expenses. Bring lots of food from Naija so that you won't spend on feeding for more than 6 months. Don't get addicted to brioche loaf like me 1 Like |

Ruben225571: You don't put cheap and Australia in the same sentence, they aren't of the same class . I haven't heard of full funding schools though you might be fortunate enough to get scholarships (Dean list) but after you've completed a semester and if you're GOOD. Or maybe some discount on tuition as someone has said earlier 1 Like |

Smile4mee01: If you can get a disability certificate.... You would be more than okay cos it's an mmm . Bring your driver's license, it's only valid for 6 months though. You can convert it to Victoria's driving license. Download Airtasker there are loads of job there... You can use that pending when you get a real job As for accommodation, there are two ways about it 1. Get a room that the rent is Not more than $150 per week 2. Rent an apartment with 3 or more than bedrooms (the more bedrooms and fewer bathrooms it has the less it cost), make sure when you divide the rent each of you don't pay more than 150. Here's the spoiler. Depending on the type of people you get, increase the house rent of others to include what you'd pay for bills and you're good. Before you start telling me am selfish, land here first 3 Likes 1 Share |

EMMAACHILE: First and foremost, I can't tell you that and then again, people who live here would agree with me that my rent is cheap even though it's not the cheapest. International students are Australia's cash cow, people pay twice of what I pay a week in the so called student houses and some other places |

Good evening all, This is about rent and accommodation. For some days now, I've been thinking about rent and the excessive amount most of us pay including myself all in the name of renting a room. An idea then popped into my head, what if you can gather friends and rent an apartment on your own, you can get your own private bathroom In that way, you not only save yourself the wahala of some housemates or landlord. You also pay cheaper rent since you know how much you'd pay in a week, month and so in. At the moment I pay $150 per week which I still consider expensive. Anyway the purpose of my writeup is to say if you need a cheap place to stay and wouldn't mind sharing an apartment with my humble self. Where I'll make sure you don't pay more than $150 in a week. Let me know P. S You have to be in Victoria though, It's mainly for Deakin University students although anyone is welcomed. Check how much you'd pay rent after dividing that number by 2 2 Likes 1 Share

Hey guys, am going to talk about a very important thing in the morning.... Housing/ rent A very unfortunate event happened to me very recently and I would like to share it with you all. though an waiting to resolve issues at the moment. When looking for a place to rent make sure you know the rules guiding the place and also your right as a tenant. Don't stay in a house for 2 weeks without your rental agreement by your side because it will come in handy when any situation arises. 1 Like |
