kokaneprodigy:Na so... Like say no be two different rules for different scenarios. |
timbros:Lol...dem too plenty for this thread. Hosanna hosanna today Crucify crucify him tomorrow ![]() |
iamoyindamola:Help me ask ooo. E confuse me ![]() |
kokaneprodigy:Nobody argued that being in an offside position is an offence. What we clearly argued is that being in an offside position and involved in active play is what is an offence. How would you say he did nothing afterwards when he made that dashing run? You think that run towards that dangerous zone didn't change alot of things You think just kicking the ball is what is called active play? If Rashford had just stood in that offside position (instead of running towards the ball) thus not involving in active play and Bruno scored, do you think anyone here would be arguing about the goal? |
kokaneprodigy:Good, this is another of the rules clearly stated and that's because Gakpo was involved in ACTIVE PLAY. So how is Rashford not involved in active play when he made that dangerous run to that dangerous zone? How is he not involved in active play with respect to this rule
|
BlueRayDick:Another factor. You see that and outside the box shots too. |
kokaneprodigy:No wahala, make we dey watch. Na time I no get to even do matches research on this stuff na why. EPL refs are never never consistent that's my issue. I remember Liverpool Vs wolves (2days ago), they played a ball for Gakpo to chase and as he was chasing it, the defender following him kicked the ball out for throw in.... Yet the linesman raised the flag for offside and ref blew(in the first half) Mind you, Gakpo didn't touch the ball yet he was deemed offside. I read a post where spy said you need to touch the ball to be deemed offside and I just laff reading it ystdy night Like I said... Pundits, footballers and ex footballers didn't just become ignorant of this rule all of a sudden!! But then, no wahala |
BlueRayDick:I believe our Midfield. If our defence and attack can be fully focused, especially that attack cos they need to be clinical, then I see us getting 3 points. Martinelli needs to be up and doing against Wan bisakka cos that guy is a beast defensively. It'll be a big physical battle between Gabriel or Saliba and Werghost. Thank God he isn't that skillful and fast. And most importantly, we need to be wary of Rashford runs in behind defences. |
kokaneprodigy:Na real Living God we dey serve. It's up to us now to ensure we do our own part ![]() |
iamoyindamola:One day one day it'll rear it's ugly head again and we'll revisit this topic again. I just hope that, that time, I pray it doesn't happen against us |
Ballzproblem2: ![]() |
ObaIgwe1:Lol... You're doing it as if he owed us anything? News flash: He doesn't!! He liked us, arsenal liked him, Chelsea liked him. If it was personally within his power, obviously he'll be in North London not South(abi West). We both brought bid and if arsenal is that desperate for him to join us(just as he had shown that he's desperate to join us) then they would have outbidded Chelsea but obviously that's not our model. Moreover, Ambition or money or family or all three can influence anybody especially someone who doesn't owe anybody anything. Well, it's all over. We move, hopefully we'll get someone better. We lost Vlahovic to juventus and got Jesus We lost L. Martinez to Man u and got Zinchenko. Nobody that's is present here will say he isn't happy with any of the two signings. Hopefully, we'll definitely get someone better ![]() |
Casemiro to miss arsenal match. Another reason we need to maximally capitalise biko |
Spy and Kokane, I saw Una mentions thou. It's surprising how almost everyone (including professional players and pundits) see that thing as offside except PGMOL. I can go on an on with examples but let's just move on to other discourses... Anyways, Sunday have been set perfectly for us. It's our home also. Hopefully, let us make it count. We need to!!! COYG!! |
kokaneprodigy:Lol... I couldn't find the guy sha but I watched the clip on YouTube (since I remembered it's fa cup final) I believed these two are different and here's my reason. 1... The distance covered by Ramsey wasn't much (just a step). And this has always been my point. 2... Sanchez made a follow through immediately he played that ball to that zone. Not that he capitalised on Ramsey's presence/action there. Bruno clearly capitalised on Rashford interference Even Ederson was expecting Rashford to take a shot and have already readied himself before Bruno (from the opposite side) took it. All these facts are based on this rule below that I marked orange
|
ObaIgwe1:Like I said earlier, he was influenced. You don't know the number of people that "chuuk yarns" to his ear and head (esp people close to him like family and all). You're making it seem as if Chelsea brought money once and he just jumped on the offer. This guy blatantly rejected Chelsea and say he's going to only Arsenal when Chelsea came earlier. The main reason they went for Felix since the guy clearly rejected them. You think someone who rejected Chelsea just under two weeks and was already doing a praying emoji when arsenal had that breakthrough would just choose Chelsea in less than 2days? Even the guy unsmiling unveiling pictures will tell you the he isn't happy with the decision he made but here you're branding him as "fake friend" |
kokaneprodigy:Lol... No problem boss ![]() |
Izurejoice:Starting 11? You're sure? I'll check cos I can't believe we're one of the most expensive |
iamoyindamola:Yeah... He was influenced. Two days before Chelsea hijacked the deal, i read that Shaktar was telling him to choose Chelsea over arsenal as even though they're struggling cos in the long run they'll win trophies more than us. Moreover, I read even his family members were speaking to him too about Chelsea. If you notice, that day Chelsea hijacked the deal and it was official, I said here that I don't blame him one bit because he was influenced. He isn't really happy and I'm not surprised |
iamoyindamola:Of course, they would have agreed cos the breakthrough was there. Even Arteta In his pre-match conference gave hint about Mudryk and we know how Arteta hardly gives hints. Remember we're the only team interested as Chelsea initially backed out Chelsea hijacking the deal at the dying minutes is what caused everything. And I'm sure it's more than that 5m they're brandishing about. Chelsea acted desperate. If we brought our own 5m, they would still top it and that would result to a bidding war |
Spy360:Who tells you most big clubs look at selling you for higher price in the future. Their own is that as they're buying you, let you perform very well at an optimum level. That's why he signed 8½ year deal It'll only be a loss (just like Felix - athletico) if he flops. Mbappe was bought for 160m, nobody is saying PSG haven't gained anything. Ronaldo moved at a world record fee. 10yrs from then, the money looked small. And hijacking the deal doesn't automatically means he'll flop. Chelsea still hijacked deal of Hazard and Willian from arsenal and Tottenham respectively and both turned out great. I hope this one turns out wrong for them tho ![]() |
iamoyindamola:it'll be a miracle if we lose UCL position sha. But I just want to trust the board this season for any decision they make this season. It's the reason why I'm not hyped up about any transfer news unlike last season I was always complaining |
iamoyindamola:But you know Shaktar already agreed to our deal of 95m and it was just structure they were working on before Chelsea hijacked it at the last minute right? If there was breakthrough and Shaktar did a turnaround, why then would you blame arsenal for time wasting? |
iamoyindamola:Well.... They might just trust Nelson and Smith Rowe if they don't get any other signings. But I'm 98% sure that we're not getting anybody after that failed Mudryk deal, reason why my hope is not up for any signings Tbh. I think they're just been wary of deadwoods Tbh |
Spy360:Alright... Understood ![]() |
Spy360:You wouldn't know the bolded until it pans out. He might turn a hit for them and everyone will forget the price. He might turn a flop and your prediction will be right. I rate the guy highly sha and like I said in Chelsea thread, I just hope the guy proved us wrong that he's not who we really thought he is ![]() And yes, I hope it affects them in the long run too ![]() |
iamoyindamola:The big issue is that you think we've not addressed Partey position this season when the club thinks otherwise (Elneny). Remember, the club only started bidding for Danilo and later Douglas Luiz when they found out Elneny is out for a lengthy period. Not saying I'm agreeing with the choice but I just want you to see that what you think isn't addressed by the club is contrary to what they're thinking. The only thing the club might be looking out for are just wingers(cos that's where we're short on), reason why they went all out for Mudryk. Maybe there's a plan B, but I don't think there's is because we were so confident of landing him as there was no other rival (just as we did Zinny). |
Spy360:No rule blames any player for the bolded. The only case Akanji had was that if he genuinely kept Rashford offside? If Rashford is involved in "active play", any other thing doesn't concern Akanji again. He'll only be blamed if Rashford is onside and he thought he was not or if Rashford isn't involved in active play. Now the rule of offside is that.. the offending player is offside if he touches the ball or by interference (ie you don't need to touch the ball). The case you're making for Rashford is that he didn't "touch the ball" which is right. But my case is that he caused an "Interference" and below is the rule I'm basing it from(screenshot attached , the 2nd rule I colored orange). Now, tell me how Rashford didn't break that rule with respect to "his obvious action"?

BlueRayDick:This is exactly why I brought out those figures for people here to see that we have a model and a good one at that. The model is working excellently. So when I just want to clear the air when people feel that we should have gone all out for Mudryk signing or that the club is stingy and useless. 95m for someone who wouldn't be a starter is even very big enough. For us to even bring that huge sum for someone who wouldn't walk straight into the team shows how talented the boy can be BUT we won't be forced into over doing it. We've got hungry boys at a very great price most teams would be jealous of. That's not an easy feat. The least Edu and the crew deserves from us is for we to trust them at least. As for the bolded, that's why I'm not even bothered that we missed him. I mean, we were the one that brought him to limelight because we really assessed him well. If we can spot him, then it means there are other Mudryk we can spot as well The issue is not even about buying expensive Just to make mouth or feel among else we'll litter here with deadwoods. The main the is to buy Right and ensure to hold them tight. I think arsenal are doing the two perfectly well |
Ballzproblem2: ![]() Omorr, na die oo ![]() |
Our 1st 11 transfer fees (in pounds) Ramsdale - 30m Saliba - 27m Gabriel - 25m Zinchenko - 35m White - 50m Partey - 45m Xhaka - 35m Odegaard - 30m Saka - 0m Martinelli - 6m Jesus/Nketiah - 45m Total... £328m All these players (bar Xhaka) were all recruited by Edu and Arteta. Kudos should be wholly credited to Edu(and the recruitment team) for really a job well done especially in this hyperinflated market. Kudos also to Arteta for Making a monsters out of all these players. I think we're one of the cheapest first 11 in EPL
