If Odegaard isn’t available, we could try playing Saka in that role why Sterling plays the right wing.

It would be nice exploring that option. It’s also an opportunity to improve on Sakas quality.
Well, it'll be nice exploring that option but it's Arteta that we're talking about.

But anyways, Odegaard will be available

I was expecting an emphatic Yes, so that I can ask Rol.and17 and other Arsenal fans to come and pass a vote of confidence.

Havertz was lazy but he has goal sense more than Jackson. Both are not Chelsea's standard though.
Havertz getting this little praise is because is no longer in Chelsea. I assure you, if both Havertz and Jackson were in Chelsea, you might have preferred Jackson.

Well, against Man u, I didn't think you guys would lose even though I hoped you do.

Even their own fans didn't really have hope they'll win sef. They're just hoping for Miracle the way it happened last season.

If na against Arsenal or Man City you talk this one.. then Ehen!! grin grin grin

Diving is not something u should be blaming a player for not doing well. Diving itself is a punishable offence in football; It can always go against us .

Let him just play his normal game abeg and let's take our chances when they present themselves.
Fair enough.

But I still believe sometimes we should learn all these dark arts, esp exploiting on player's careless. Most top teams use it and capitalize on it to win matches they would have ordinarily drawn or lost which I believe is not against the law esp when done smartly.

Huhh??

No be if Arteta realizes that it's a mistake?

One thing is know is that Havertz is the main striker and an Auxiliary midfielder for Arteta. I will be surprised (but happy) if he didn't start him against Tottenham

Arsenal fans are difficult to please. Last season Saka was diving and I remember some of us were not happy with him.
I don't remember anybody here not happy with him for diving. Perhaps opposition fans maybe.

The only one we were aggrieved against his diving (esp I) was against Neuer cos that diving was all shades of poor dive(leaving the ball and jumping into Neuer leg). Esp when it's a one on one chance (and not 50/50 ball) that would have put us ahead.

Aside that, I don't know or remember anyone not happy with him for diving

He should leave diving for people wey sabi cause he’s not good at it. Moreover, he can be penalized for it
Yeah, there's a reason I said if that's what he wants cus those his poor dive against Bayern and Aston Villa last week seems to me like something that he want to input into his game.

This one against Brighton, if he'd dived, it would have been a straight pen(except ref wan do us strong thing). That was a really really careless slide/tackle from that Brighton's player. I was expecting a fall from Saka that I was really disappointed he didn't fall instead of being disappointed with his follow-up miss.

There's a reason Havertz is not in our team again. Jackson shouldn't be leading our attack too. They are birds of a feather only that Havertz is not completely useless in 1v1 as Jackson.

Will you give us Havertz and take Jackson?
Boss, as for the bolded, I can't say.

When Havertz was playing at Chelsea, he was one of the players I normally troll here— from his style of play to his finishing— it was so worst cos I knew how many chances this guy misses on per basis. The only thing I knew he was good at was heading balls.
I knew how I wailed endless when we bought him. He's someone I wouldn't touch with a 6 foot pole normally even if given for free

I'm shocked he started giving returns in terms of goalscoring (for us). If Havertz can do it for us and I can calm down a bit, I don't think I would really say no to Jackson.

Tbh, with a straight swap between Havertz and Jackson, I won't outrightly say no
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 3:55pm On Sep 02, 2024
Tbh, Saka should learn how to dive and he should be good at it while doing it(if that's what he really wants)

When Havertz played that big chance and it rebounded to saka, a Brighton defender recklessly slided through to Saka but he evaded it. That's exactly the kind of ones he should be looking to initiate contact with and fall down not all those ones he was doing (esp against Bayern). See how Havertz did his own against Bournemouth last season.

I knew how I smh immediately Saka evaded that tackle esp in that situation(when there were so many bodies around the goal side)

Airmark is terrible.

In a bid to discredit Jackson, this is the Havertz goal he is comparing to Jackson.

Is there any way in this world that the two sequence is remotely similar? Look at the distance to goal the keeper came out that made it possible for Havertz to lob him. Look at the angle. Havertz came in centrally so he can pick a spot to lob. How can Jackson do the same from that tight angle? Havertz had no one marking him, literally. Look at the defender breathing down Jackson's neck, making life difficult for him.

But no, Airmark must come and disgrace himself because it's Jackson matter.
Worst part is that in that same match, Havertz have same or even better chance than Jackson to put us 2-1 ahead but he missed it. Come to our thread and see how most of us were complaining about that missed chance in our thread

But Airmark won't see that one. It doesn't fit his agenda grin grin

The truth is that Ten Hag has lost it. It is funny that he is still in charge of the club as of this time. This goes to show that ineos doesn't really see the truth, they move by the dictate of their business only.

Pay off Ten Hag and allow him to leave immediately if they want this season to yield anything good.

Even without touching the ball, that free kick would not have stood because the ball was still rolling. And then, why was Joao Pedro not penalised for the same offence?
J. Pedro kicked his own when ball was totally out of play. If he did that on the pitch, then it's a pure yellow card. No foul/offence for ever kicking ball when it's out of play.

All this people with injury please when are the coming back?

This was just a perfect time for Merino to show up but injury again.

Meanwhile, I was just watching the highlights, can someone remind me again when Rice mic the ball please and how was there penalty earlier on?
Try watch this clip and forward and watch the red card incident well and you'll see the kick of the ball from Rice.

As for the bolded, I wonder how that isn't gathering much talks tbh.

When the ball hit the Brighton's player hand, it (the hand) was away from his body. The distance Ben White hit , theball was far away and the ball was definitely on target. In fact, it would be argued that it would end up at the back of the net without that handball from Brighton's player.

So how the hell was that not given.?

I'll send a link if I see it again

You mean "harmful"?

If it was harmful from medical point of view, I think Odegaard would have been substituted earlier.

That pass really pain me sha cos that's a potential winning goal but knowing the situation of happened to Odegaard and knowing that it's Odegaard himself, I just believe it's the effect of the knock that caused it

Merino and Rice are out of NLD

Odegaard will definitely be fit. But who will complete the midfield triangle?

Make Arteta just play Calafiori.
Lol, you're forgetting Jorginho?

Odegaard, Partey, Havertz.

Saka, Trossard, Martinelli.

He'll be available for the NLD hopefully since he was still able to play on before being subbed. It's 2wks away so I believe he'll be available.

But then, our options are Havertz, Jorginho and Nwaneri (tho I believe it's too sudden and mighty for the lad since it's Nld).
