Good day house. Pls I have a serious issue at hand... I misplaced my degree certificate and my school in Ghana refuse to issue another one. I used only my degree transcript for IQAS assessment for educational purpose. IQAS reports read that my degree is equivalent to Canadian 4yrs degree but states that its a B.Sc partial completion which i don't understand. Now that i want to use WES with no degree certificate. Will there be any issue for me

Hello gurus in d house,

I need your thots on this issue. I've obviously missed my sept 17 resumption date since i am yet to get my study permit, its been 11 weeks now. The school has deferred my admission to April 2019, as there's no Jan start for my program. The issue is i really do not want to wait till April, I'm thinking of withdrawing my application and then just go do my masters in d UK, which will end by May/June, just about when I'm supposed to start d Canada program. I can then apply for EE or PN with my masters degree which wld boost my points.
Wat do u guys think? Wat r d implications of withdawing my study visa application and how long wld it take to get my passport back?

kayvine4u
Since your ultimate goal is to apply for EE/PNP in the future i would advise that you patiently wait for April 2019 batch as 2019 is fast approaching. By the time you do the cost/benefit analysis of either having M.sc in the UK or Canada and considering your end goal "PR" Canada would be the best option because you might be engaged in a paid employment while studying, you will apply for PGWP after your program which would add up to your point for EE application. Yes, UK M.sc would boost your points a little but you have to think about the continuous rise in Canadian CRS which is highly competitive for Masters holders unless with a high IELTS score. Canadian PGWP will give you additional points for Canadian work experience and it is the easiest path to achieving your end goal.

I hope this helps.

Sorry for ur delay bro, but let me chip this in. Ur profile is obviously good for TRV approval as against the reasons for ur refusal. One thing about this CIC people that I have personally observed is the VOs that attend to applications. Lets assume 10 VOs attend to ur Application differently, am sure 6 will approve you cos there is progression in Career in ur App, u have strong Employment prospect and also u have other visas stamped on ur passport. Personally I have seen peeps here getting approval without SOP or LOE, and also without statement of Account. Like one of my friends who is in Canada told me a year ago, he said this Visa Officers also work on application based on their mood, A VO that is angry from home and gets to the office, its obvious the first application(that is so tight) she will work on will be affected(Likely Refusal) based on her current mood. While a VO that got an increase in pay or got promotion and works on an Application that isnt really tight can because of her happy mood just approve the application bebe. So my point is that these applications are in the hands of the VO that attends to them. I have noticed that one prayer we fail to pray here is that God should make our application get to the hands of the right VO(the happy Vo). please order for ur GCMS note and patiently tackle the reasons, take ur time and do not rush. And ur next application will def be approved. I await ur approval in the next application.

I do not think this has anything to do with the VO's mood. The system makes it possible for them to refuse Nigerians visa with flimsy excuses. An ICCRC certified Attorney once told me that over 85% of Nigerian applicants are being denied Canadian Study visa. I suppose these VOs are given monthly quotas and once they meet their monthly target they cast die or do oje-koje to decide on who to approve/deny visa. The system has been designed to create wealth for Canada's economy.

Thanks for taking out your time to respond to me ,I really appreciate.
If I get you well, you mention something of me that I'm still young. Well, for that I wouldn't be able to answer that correctly because young age differ to different people (I'd be 26years of age after I'm done with service) so my being young will depend on my employer.
pertaining to studying M. Sc at the expense of MBA, I think I'll give it a try . I need your guide on what to do to enable me secure scholarship immediately after my service- talking about the best and recognizable Canada universities for M. Sc in finance program ,how to get materials for GMAT test, study guide etc.
Another is I don't know if I'll be able to secure job immediately after my M. Sc to top investment banks in Nigeria . if yes, would my age still be taken into consideration then? if yes, what would be my chance of securing my dream job then considering the age I'm now?
About the CFA thingy, I've heard a lot about that too and how rigorous and herculean it is. Do you think employers see CFA more marketable than M. Sc in finance from a reputable institution in Canada . If yes, should I go for it instead? if yes, I need guide on how easy I can smash the exam without stress.
Btw, I have a course mate, we graduated together . He is so intelligent and wants to further as well to Canada but, unfortunately for him he ended up graduating with a 2.1(i.e 4.41 CGPA), strong one. What is his chance of securing scholarship in Canada with that result? Does schools require for your certificate showing your class of degree or your GPA transcript showing your grade point?
Your usual modest response will be appreciated.

This thread is strictly for Canadian study permit applicants. I am sorry to disappoint you as your endless questions are outside the scope of our discourse here... The Almighty Google could be of great help to you if you make her your closest friend because she has answers to all your questions. I hope this is helpful.

Thanks for that response. I really do appreciate. I'd have consider M. Sc instead of MBA but, I got an information that pursuing M. Sc program mean one wants to end up in a classroom ( I. e lecturing job) which I've never dreamed of. I always have dire passion for corporate world talking of companies like investment banks, CBN and other notable financial institution. ultimately, I was told that my dream can only come true by pursuing further studies on MBA -that it's more preferable in terms of prospect,pay,awe-inspiring experience not to mention a few.
I hope I've been able to convince you on my idea of pursuing one at the expense of other sir?

Sorry to say that you were ill-advised as there is no iota truth in what this 'your so-called adviser' told you. You might end up in the class-room only if you studied Finance in education. You have a very good grade in Finance, still young in age if i guessed correctly and have a good prospect to work with investment banks, CBN etc. My candid advice for you is to apply for M.sc in Finance and that would enhance your exposure in finance rather going for an MBA which is basically designed for highly experienced business managers or executives. Besides, while enrolled in M.sc Finance you could enroll for CFA exams ; CFA is the climax of Finance certification, it is highly marketable globally and i advise you consider this certification rather than MBA for the achievement of your dreamed career.

Do not accept what anyone tells you without personally conducting intensive research/findings especially when it has to do with your career. I wish you a successful career.

This saying is apt when it comes to Canadian study permit.

Please I am considering the possibility of changing my school to University of Saskatchewan for a masters program in Finance with a second class upper division. Please is GMAT mandatory for a second class upper division in Accounting. Also is advance payment of fee a prerequisite for issuing acceptance letter by USASK. Will be highly grateful for your response.

Let's not dwell by our assumptions. You need to order your gcms note quickly. I strongly don't feel your wife pregnancy state will be a key factor to your visa refusal.

In your refused application, did you in anyway state that she was pregnant? and it appears that you're self sponsored, is your wife also accompanying you to Canada? Give answers to this.

I didn't disclose her pregnancy in my SOP but I clearly stated that I am married and even attached our marriage certificate. My brother is my only sponsor but i provided evidential document of bequeathed property and stated that my wife would be the one collecting rents from my tenants to fend for herself and our child in Nigeria while am studying in Canada. I have no company and I clearly stated this in my SOP. Thanks for the advise brother. I will apply for GCMS note.

joe10,

I am very sorry to hear your application got refused the second time after sending a CSE to Nairobi Visa office. From my point of view, I don't feel that it's because you reported important changes regarding your application that led to your refusal as it was clearly noted on CIC webpage that applicant must notify them if their circumstances changes like births, deaths, marriages, adoptions, address etc.. Therefore, your wife pregnancy state shouldn't be a reason to your immediate refusal after a CSE was sent, its more likely that your application have been due for a decision to be made before your CSE came into their desk. Moreover, paper route applications as we all know doesn't take long for an applicant to be refused.

I'll advise you order for your CAIPS file so as to get a clearer picture of your visa refusal prior to reapplying for your next visa. A quick one, did you get the response from them today being Saturday or yesterday?

It shall end in praises in your next application!

They replied me on the 29th August. Took 6 weeks

Good day to the Gurus in the house and distinguished Nairalanders.

My Study permit application was refused for the second time. I was initially refused in London on the ground of purpose of visit. I put up a strong SOP to convince the VO why I would return to Nigeria after my studies. Provided evidence of personal investments, bequeathed building from my late Father, included my admission letter which stated that payment of school fee can only be done after receiving study permit and other strong points which I did not include in my first application, but after notifying IRCC of changes in my status that my wife put to bed and stated that I have made adequate provisions for their up keep I was slapped with a refusal by nairobi in two hours after sending the message. This time nairobi stated four reasons for refusal even though I took my time to prepare a very strong SOP. I do not know whether I did wrong by informing IRCC of changes in status cos I know it is mandatory to reveal such changes to IRCC so as to update your profile. I AM NOT GIVING UP YET.

Hope there is progress with your application. Thanks for checking.

Finally my correspondence letter has arrived, and would be in Canada by nextweek for the fall session..

I was denied in June, applied for a second degree which some gurus in the house discouraged me not to go for, that I should go for a masters or something higher, despite having a 5 years engineering degree here in Nigeria 3 years ago.

I re-applied with faith without using a gcms note to tackle the reason.. I just wrote 6 pages of SOP and another 4 Pages of LOE together, and today I was approved of my visa(3 years) from the Kenya witchy witch VO, they denied me before.

Whoever has been denied before, please re-apply till you get it, because you will surely get it.. do not let anyone discourage you, go for what you want and back it up with good application and prayers, you will come out victorious.

I pray for everyone here who is waiting on their decision, you shall all be approved IJN, frustration is far from you.. please pray always, as prayer is the key..

I fasted for good 9 days with no food, just Garri and water.. but I knew after that, the lord would answer me..

I want to thank everyone one here who has contributed so well, and those who criticized me, you all made me strong.. and I can’t wait to always see good news here.

It will end in praise!!

Lol... Congratulations

Good day everyone, my visa was denied last month, and my school starts September 4. It’s obvious I can’t meet up so I asked for a defer, unfortunately for me the next intake in my course is till September 2019.

My Question is, if I should get the school defer letter of 2019 now, can I apply now ? How early can I apply? Will the embassy refuse because of the date is far? I wouldn’t mind being in Canada ,working or doing any skill am good in, while I wait for my school to start in September 2019.

Thanks

Sorry about your TRV refusal. I think you will be taking a right decision deferring your admission to the next calendar year as you have ample time to request for your GCMS note, thoroughly scrutinise reasons for TRV refusal, seek advice where needed and rearrange proper documents for reapplication to avoid a reocurrence.

It is not possible to work in Canada without a work permit, it even against your assertion that your primary purpose of visiting is to school.

I hope this helps.

A lot of information flying around. Please do well to confirm certain things before you act on them. Please nobody here is a VO, i repeat, nobody na VO, so no one has the full knowledge. As knowledgeable as people on here are, mistakes fit dey.

All the best to everyone.

Cheers

Yes... No one here is VO, infallible nor knows it all when it comes to Canadian visa application but we can not deny the fact, there are people here with deep experience and knowledge about the subject matter and are of immense help to many especially the newbies. I have benefited a lot from this platform and still learning from the experience shared by others. If you check the profile of some people here, they did not join this platform few months ago like me but have been here for years and have contributed to the success of many and are still doing same. I think some people should grow up and learn to take responsibilities for their actions. Mature minds do not cast aspersions when they fail or make mistakes in life. I believe every advise dished out here is to guide those who ask questions and it is expected that you do your home work by carrying out personal research in comparison to advice received rather than swallowing it all hook line and sinker. Discourse like this is baseless and could only discourage people from being helpful to others. I rest my case.

I obtained my Study Permit which is to last for a total duration of two years five months. The duration for my program is 19 months plus Co-op - 16 months for study and 3 months for Co-op/internship. In my Study Permit application i provided evidence of Co-op/internship. Will i have to still apply for a Co-op permit as it seems i was only issued a Study permit and no indication whatsoever was referred to my application for Co-op? Could i infer that the long duration of my study was accommodated in the Study Permit?

You can easily apply for your co-op/internship work permit when you arrive Canada provided you have a letter from your school to that regard.

I hope this helps.

Previously some online applications were treated in Turkey and Dubai. But, currently all online applications are treated at the London visa office. In the aspect of comparison between Kenya and London. I would better go for a route that is fast in giving out reponse, so that if eventually my application gets refused, I can quickly pick up my file, re-strategies and reapply rather than going for a route that will take the whole time on earth (9weeks-15weeks) to process my visa and at the end it turns out unsuccessful which could be very traumatizing and frustrating.

As always said by me, no route is best!!

Valid notion
