Nigeria and it's troubles. our problem is that when issues spring up,we don't tackle it on the path of rationality but we allow political, religious and tribal affiliations blind our rational thinking and so we miss out on the collective solutions. When boko haram were bombing churches,Moslems in the north kept silent thinking it will just be churches until the havoc was turned towards mosques and it became glaring that we now have a common enemy before we sat down to think of a way out. When NA shot and killed innocent people in the east who were unarmed, doing their peaceful demonstrations on the wickedness and dictatorship of Buhari, the other parts of the country applauded and the internet went on fire supporting lawlessness and wickedness but guess what? it has suddenly gotten to those in the north and others will get their own fair share of this acts. "Rain doesn't fall on just one man's roof. it falls on the entire community roofs" we must start seeing our problems as a collective problem no matter the region experiencing it or we perish as a nation. |
We live in sham believing we are one in this country. I don't preach separation but I know that if you go to the north, you will be denied certain privileges cos you're from the south and same happens in other regions. we should as a people,do this: 1. abolish state of origin 2. rotate presidency amongst all the regions or better still implement true federalism. 3. implement PIB Trust me,the best way to bury Biafra is regionalism but I wonder why the Nigeria govt after saying the east has no natural resources and are ravaged by erosion still don't want regionalism. Bring regionalism and let those easterners suffer if you feel your claims are right. |
How true is this? |
When the president utterly disobeys the rule of law and makes those judges look incompetent and we stand applauding that decision, one day we will be in same position and enjoy the ride. I don't pity KANU but I pity Nigerians who in the nearest future might face the same measure which they applaud come to them. But why did Nigeria not sign protection of human rights at the UN meeting under buhari? our so called big English lawyers didn't raise eyebrows about it and that's why the next four years will be utterly dramatic as per the rule of law in Nigeria. |
The sad truth that we have failed to see.

Dear op,I don't mean to be rude but I think you just needed attention and it is not wise to get it by pulling others down. The so called Biafra will never depend on oil as the reason for wanting out. It goes beyond that my brother. let me educate you a little. Igbo people are the least amongst the major tribes in Federal civil service in Nigeria and yet they are the richest individually in the nation. this tells you that a hike in fuel or reduction of salary doesn't affect those people cos they live on getting your needs to you-food,shelter and clothing. there are more than 1000 four-storey buildings in Onitsha built from personal hard work of the Igbo people and no state including Lagos can boost of having such in Nigeria. The Igbo man creates more for Nigeria through import duties, taxes levied on them in all the markets in Nigeria, rents they pay to market owners, etc. There is oil in IMO state, abia and even Anambra but the reason is far above oil. Ask Dele momodu about Igbo people. they have the most brilliant and gifted people in the entire Africa and that's why the world don't want to give them freedom. their potentials can give world power to a country in Africa and make them colonise other African nations. Go and read articles about this Biafra online and see for yourself... where are all the locally made guns in Nigeria from? please be careful when you talk about this Igbo people cos they are the only tribe making Nigerian embassies worldwide busy. |
What advice do you really need? you should just leave that family alone and save yourself from the havoc of them knowing who you really are. I doubt the validity of this story though. Too good to be real. |
Please Op,is the $2 for mobile data usage for the research work or for both the research and the write up? I will advice you still give it to those Philippines cos Nigerians ain't cut out for $2 for 1000 words except you want to have monkeys write for you. "if you want monkeys, then pay peanuts"Robert Kiyosaki. |
OP,if what you report is true then the govt should move into actions as quick as possible to ensure these guys are paid to avert another disaster. the budget had been presented with 3.3m barrel per day production of crude with staggering oil price at the international market. These guys can reduce production to 1m barrel per day and cripple the economy. the said amount is even a stipend compared to what those Abuja politicians give to their girlfriends weekly. |
I love and recommend removal of fuel subsidy but we should do this before doing that: 1. revitalize our refineries or privatise them. this will boost local production and also create jobs for the teeming youths. 2. Do massive orientation to Nigerians for like three months on the benefits of removal of fuel subsidy. this was the issue I had with GEJ's govt cos Nigerians just woke up to the harsh reality of the removal without knowing the benefit. 3. Create a different account for the money realized yearly from the subsidy stuff and channel it into something Nigerians can see like roads, tertiary institutions buildings and research centres, etc. |
Am not against govt borrowing to meet needs but we should borrow with plans on ground to pay back within the four years allotted to us and not leaving behind junks of debts to pay by subsequent govts. |
What a marvelous plan for the future though I know how much will go into this project especially free tuition fee for science, technical students in our tertiary institutions. But,I think we as a nation should leave behind tribal sentiments and religious bigotry and think towards being a great nation. Invest in Aba made stuffs and have quality standard of international acceptance and help market those products abroad. China started like that and today the world depends on them. Mechanise agriculture in the north and encourage agric processing plants all over the north with channels created for exportation to help generate income for the nation. All these will create jobs instead of making tuition free and have junk of graduates in the already laden unemployment market with no industries to work in. we are poor, yes! but we don't free education but subsidized ones with the hope of getting employed or having a policy to support our ideas as youths. |
though am not an economist or a financial analyst but I think I go with oby on the part of having a public suggestions on the way out of our rigid CBN policies that is crippling the economy. What CBN fails to know is that the idea of the few on financial regulations maybe wrong so their should be a collation of ideas from past CBN governors, world bank reps from Nigeria, bankers, etc. madam oby seems to know too much outside the office so she should be given the position of CBN governor with a six months ultimatum to ensuring a stable exchange rates and if she fails, lay her off. it is easier to know all the solutions to a problem outside the problem but when given the mandate to solve it,it becomes difficult. |
@OP,the correlations are just physical and social based which doesn't take into cognizance the health related part of giving birth at old age yet I concur with you. but we should also know that children given birth to at old age are prone to gene oriented diseases due to mitochondrial degeneration in cells. |
If the Igbo people are causing nuisance in communities where they inhabit as claimed by other tribes, then let them have a nation of their own. But my opinion is regionalism is the way forward for Nigeria as a nation. if people feel their resources are used to enrich others, then they should be made to control and manage those resources and this will weaken the urge to be the central control power and kill tribalism. we will develop and be a nation not dependent on oil as our only source of livelihood if we constitute regional govts. |
Jeffy1206:Do the manufacturer release updates for this phone and does it have SD card slot? how much will it cost me to get it down to Onitsha? |
Yeske2:It is not true. The rice to be shared is available and will be made available to civil servants by next week. it will be cocharis rice with Anambra logo on it. that's what I heard though. |
AustineE1:my brother, say what you know. I am a civil servant with Anambra state and as much as I must commend the Obiano led govt, the pay we receive is low compared to other States in the country. Even Ebonyi state pays better than Anambra state but we are hopeful that once the governor gets to it's #3billion IGR/month he will do more as he promised. |
This is what happens when you have a governor that has pride and believe in self sustainability... Every State should look inward to create jobs and increase IGR from it's natural resources. Thanks to the man who thinks outside the charade of going to Abuja every month for cash. If the governor continues in this direction,Anambra will be the glory of Nigeria by 2020. #WillieIsWorking. |

Dear Nairalanders, I am prompt to alert Nigerians on the issue not cos I fell victim to the scammer whose pictures are on display here but cos she did it to another Nigerian and so I feel it's high time we all get to be aware of her and her tactics. last year,I travelled down to ekpoma to meet with omokhomion A. faithful at her cousins place to discus modalities on helping me get goods, mostly female clothes, shoes and bags from Dubai as she is based there. after the discussions,we agreed that I will start the importations through her as my agent until when I have gathered enough experience then I will start travelling to get those goods myself. we also agreed that I kick start the deal with 400k which I 280k to her first bank number 3080124284 and 150k to just confirmation Nigeria zennith account number 1013398258 from ogidi branch on the 22/9/2015 with her name cos she requested I do that so they pick goods for her before she gets to Dubai. Two weeks later, she started giving me stories and next, block all sources of getting through to her. I then decided to get through to her cousins at http://www.facebook.com/emprezOmokhomion explaining to her what travailed between her cousin and I and that she should get through to Faithful's parents cos I haven't met them in person. she called me begging that I shouldn't take them to okija shrine as I threatened to do in my mail to her. All efforts to get through to the cousin and her family proved abortive and I moved on even though I know the mum works in Yabatech as a non academic staff and I didn't feel I should travel from Anambra to Lagos cos of the issue as I feel the only way to deal with her and her family is through report to either ayalele shrine in Benin city or okija shrine in Anambra but my parents shunned that idea so I left it to die but will still resort to it very soon. fast forward to why I am writing, recently, I received a message from an unknown man on Facebook of how she duped him. the man may have gotten my messages on her page http://www.facebook.com/poshaffairs warning people from dealing with her as she is a scammer. I searched that page and realized that she has deleted the page. I will post her full details here so we be careful about dealing with her and please help tell others about her cos she is a snake looking for who to devour. A president who goes to foreign lands to shake hands with women but comes to Nigeria, a country he leads, and refused handshake with female ministers on religious reasons should not only be criticised but made to apologise to all the female citizens in Nigeria. check out this pics!!! @lalasticala |
