I just want to be sure in order not to waste money and get a fake passport. Cos someone told me that there is a particular alpha-numerical code that (original) passport carries, and when ever that code is been keyed into the FG portal, all information about me will appear. But if it is a fake passport, when d code is imputed, it wont display any info about me.. and it could possibly lead to arrest.. so I was scared when i heard this that why i want to be sure I can get an original one from the Fed, Secretariat via the guy at the gate.

Yes I went there but I was confronted by those Immigration officers at the main gate and one of them offered to take it up for me.. but am not sure of (them) him.... I dont know how authentic the passport would be if I should do it through the guy.. undecided

But please also help me on this. I want to apply for my International passport and I personally have all the requirements but the other part of the requirements is that of a guarantor, whose international passport data page, driver's license and passport photos are needed. Now, the international passport of the person who has volunteered to be my guarantor has expired and he has not yet renewed it because according to him, he has no intention of travelling for now. So I want to know, will the Nigerian Immigration accept the data page of that expired passport or must it be a valid one before it will be acceptable? Please advice me.. Thanks
