Abi u no no say some public fees almost dey like private and you are talking about increasing
See if you give a fool 10 million to buy spoon
He will still end up using all the money and still not buying the spoon
Its how they spend the ones they have now that matters

God bless you. You understand the point.
He's only proffering solution the government would never do.
This so called ASUU will calm down when the time comes and will come back next year again with strike. ASUU and govt are the same.

Payment of salaries to lecturers and maintenance of infrastructural facilities. The wage bill alone will swallow the revenue generated from school fees of students. Since ASUU keep asking for increment in funding and improvement in their welfare, the government has no choice than to increase fees to meet up.

Even if school fees are increased to a million we would still arrive at the same conclusion. It's sweet to analyze these things but those in power have a different motive, to enrich their pockets.
The government you are thinking doesn't have the money can find other sectors but education is a taboo to them.

The number of cases have increased today. It is in the light of this that I will urge the FG to impose a forceful and aggressive lockdown for 4weeks.

Nigerians are already used to the lockdown so there is nothing to lose here.

Together we will defeat this virus.

Insha Allah.
This one just wants attention.

The fees goes to the government not lecturers.

You are still taking yourself round a circle. So how does increasing the school fees solve anything. The Same government that don't do anything naw will then do something when school fees are hiked.

We are Nigerians let's be realistic Biko..

. Balderdash, but I believe everybody has his/her choice. You reason emotionally, and that has punctured you submission, try reasoning factually. You can not compare Nigeria's situation to Kenya's, because they chose to lock their schools till next year doesn't mean Nigeria should do same. And if am not mistaken, the ministry of education has already said a handful of ssce students who contracted the virus have been cured. So, what are you talking about? Many of you people are hypocrite, just because your means of income is not totally affected by this prolonged closure does not give you leave to tall down others. If FG gives resumption dates, you should stay in your room. At least in April when interstate lockdown was lifted, some person were giving analogy of Noah's ark and dove, you too can do same. ASUU doesn't take part in elections. When lecturers take part in elections, he or she is not representing ASUU. FG need to do the right thing . If they aren't ready to fund education, they should increase school fees.

Increase school fees for those same lecturers to embezzle.
Last last we are still going round a circle. We all know how the average man in power behaves.

Lemme ask u just one question
Are a student??
They will conduct election but won't open school..
So Covid-19 cannot be transmitted during voting and campaign
Only people who are not schooling in Nigeria or are not in school that will support this..
Who be ASUU sef..
One old man will just be speaking for an intire body..
Time don reach to declare this ASUU educational terrorist..
If it's not safe to open school then it's not safe to be paying them their salary.

You now see why Nigeria is this way.

When school resumes, don't resume, stick to your graphics designing.

1. Election will come student will participate
2. Church/Mosque activities student will participate..

3 All other social life student will still participate
But to resume school, student ain't eligible
Fear God

some people will not like this but let's be honest with ourselves, instead of mounting pressure to open schools when we ain't sure of the safety, why don't we pressurize the government to fix our education sectors with good and standard facilities, each states should take responsibility of putting things in place, it can't be looting Everytime, they need to fix things ..this is the best time for government to empower the graduates with enough respurces to go into agriculture..this will help the economy back before Things get back to norm..work with telecommunication companies to reduce the cost of data, talk to each local government to provide a hall in different locations that will be closer to every child to pick up their daily guides and classroom task to be sorted and return back for submission with proper social distancing while the graduates are busy doing something to boost tge economy before things get back, we will be surprise that we will have a good economy when the world is finally back running.. government make una think of one strategic way na, make una lead time well

Bros you sef think am. Deep down in your heart, do you think the government would do any of these. Each time you ask yourself that you'll get no as the answer.
Most of us have survived without the government, and we'll continue to survive without them.
Do you think the government don't know what they are doing?
Anyone hoping on the government is deceiving themselves.
Let them open everywhere let's cater for our health.
We can't keep staying at home.
Give the government 2 years to prepare it'll still be the same story.
But they can run political rallys and love-vendor up airports to be safe. SMH for this country.

Yeah that’s true reopening the university now the country is now open….we Nigerian citizens are too self centered,Kenya stopped all academically sections till next year, those students ain’t human also…the cases of covid 19 on Gahanna student is quite increasing ,Gombe some wave students already have that, now the families is now suffering for it…..why pressuring the government, the wunt
be the one to suffer that never…..,a year of academically missed sections is better than losing a life…… the government should please not use a sentiment over losing a life….beside they was a war in Nigeria that lasted over 3years everything was on stop …..next year of school resumption is not bad….wish the government going to see this

You and the government think alike.
Very illogical thinkers.
Over 6 months and they can't still put things in order.
I don't know y a fraction of Nigerians can't think outside the box.
You are mentioning war, mentioning Kenya and Ghana.
Are you at war??
Are you any of those countries.
Some of you just come out and make unreasonable comment.
If you are asked when is the right time for resumption you'll mention when vaccines are ready. So we should stay at home for years when the rest of the world is moving on. The international airports and schools which is more delicate to open.

If they give the Nigerian government 2 years to prepare we'll still arrive at the same conclusion.

It's very clear and obvious schools are not open because something is being avoided.

Is any school as crowded as a typical Lagos market or a typical Lagos bus stop at the close of work hours.

The virus is deadly but the past few months we survived despite our porous systems.

feel free to aire your opinion provided you don't rain insults. before I got admission into the university, I stayed over 6 months due to Nationwide ASUU strike caused by government at a time when there was no pandemic....it was only UniIlorin that opened because they opted out of ASUU. as a matter of fact, with the population of students choked in some schools, how do we practice social distance? how prepared are the school authorities in terms of putting hygienic measures? the only issue I wish the school to be opened a long time ago would have been for the sake of the private school teachers.
I have also stayed at home for 6 months ASUU strike just so you know. I graduated and got back in to study something else
I doubt you stay in Lagos. If you do you would ask me about social distancing. Have you seen the market places and bus stops.
Have you not seen political rally in different states ,was there social distancing effected. Does this government look like they would do anything about those things you are highlighting. At times some of us make comments like we ain't Nigerians. What do you think the government will do?
If they'll do nothing they should allow students cater for their health themselves.

He is serious.
To a large extent we have been able to build immunity against covid 19.also treatment has improved sufficiently with above 90percent recovery rate.
More efforts should rather be geared towards preventing other strains from coming into the country.
That's why I am rather not pleased with the international flights to resume soon.
I doubt appropriate measures will be adhered to.

Brother that's the funny country we find ourselves. They are opening the means the infection came into the country. But choose to close down school till eternity.

how will you open schools and let state workers remain at home I question this your decision Mr Governor. Banks are partially opened making things pretty difficult for customers, state workers below level 12 are at home, churches are still on 50% attendance, transportation is still high for the common man, bars, lounge and others you still close down. please, it's better you open the while sectors and not risk the lives of students.
What are you saying sir?
So students should die of depression at home.

6months plus at home and you are asking why will they open school?
Lemme reserve my comment sir.
