Politics / Appeal Court Dismisses APM Suit Seeking Obi’s Disqualification by Joevics(m): 5:31pm On Feb 08, 2023 |
The Court of Appeal Abuja has dismissed a suit by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) seeking to disqualify Peter Obi as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP). Delivering Judgement, the President of the Court, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensan dismissed the appeal on the grounds that the appeal lacked merit and APM lacked the legal right to initiate the suit. The appellate court also awarded a cost of N200,000 against APM, in favour of the Labour Party and Peter Obi who are the 2nd and 3rd respondents in the suit. Obi is in the race alongside top contenders like Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). With less than three weeks to the February 25 presidential election, the northern region has become the toast of presidential candidates as contestants jostling for Aso Rock’s top job continue to flock to the North-West, North-East and the North-Central geopolitical zones which make up the northern region for bloc votes which runs into tens of millions. Like others, Obi, a former governor of Anambra State in southern Nigeria, alongside his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, who is from Kaduna in the north, have also taken their campaigns to the region. https://www.channelstv.com/2023/02/08/breaking-appeal-court-dismisses-apm-suit-seeking-obis-disqualification/

Biodun556:Which college of medicine? Lasu College of Medicine was established on February 1999, while Tinub was sworn in on May 29th. Lagos State University Teaching Hospital Ikeja was founded in 1955. So which are you talking about? 2 Likes |

BreconHills:The national assembly recently gave the CBN the independence to regulate the fiscal space via the CBN act. This is like going to the supreme court to stop the actions of the Efcc chairman, even though he's not independent. If you want to challenge the CBN policy, you go to the federal high court. Stop quoting rubbish. |

ImperialYoruba:You said Tinubu built Lagos. So who built those hospitals that he was renovating? Also, what did he do with the increased IGR? What did he do with the almost 100 billion debt he left for Fashola. 3 Likes |

I had an argument with a Tinubu supporter this morning and asked him to mention one hospital Tinubu built. He said Tinubu didn't build any hospital, but rather refurbished existing ones? How can you be the owner of Lagos and a governor for 8 years without building a hospital? Impossible Urchins, Nairaland branch; please mention one hospital Tinubu built from scratch. 4 Likes 1 Share |

This current crop of justices needs to be investigated and removed. How can a case be move to the supreme court directly? And stop quoting me when you don't understand the law. 85 Likes 8 Shares

Why isn't he saying the same thing now? He's quiet. Politics is a game of interest. Then he wil even curse god to help Buhari win, thinking he will get the 2023 ticket. Now he's been mute and confused. This same Amaechi borrowed billions and sold state assets on his final days in office. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

garfield1:Abians didn't have a reason to vote in 2019. They do now. Moreover, no one person will get the bulk of the votes in Zamfara this time. Even LP will get votes there. Whereas, LP will get at least 80% votes in Abia. |

walefresh3:You are really foolish. Firstly, the pictures you posted has nothing to do with Tinubu. Those are privately owned buildings and I'm 100% sure that you haven't stepped your foot into one of them. ... Since you mentioned HDI. I want you to research what Tinubu did in health and education, and then quote me. |
Politics / Re: Datti Baba-Ahmed: Nobody Will Get Kano's 1.9 Million Votes Of 2015 (Video) by Joevics(m): 4:15am On Feb 08, 2023 |
garfield1:You are not informed. Zamfara has about 1.9 million voters while Abia has over 2 million. Again, neither PDP or APC can get 80% of Zamfara votes. But Obi is likely to get over 80% of Abia state votes. 76 Likes 3 Shares |

IkennaOodo:Story. It's an election. The opposition has every right to challenge anything they find funny. Moreover, the LP candidate and the PDP candidate both have links to the governor. Obidients, from what I've seen are rather pushing towards Frank Nweke Jnr. |

garfield1:I thought so as much. But a lot has changed in Ogun since OBJ declared for him. As for Osun, 25% would likely be about 175,000 votes. Do he can pull through with votes from Igbos, non indigenes and his Osun supporters. |
Politics / Re: Breaking: Stears Survey Indicates Peter Obi Will Be The Next President by Joevics(m): 11:18am On Feb 07, 2023 |
My only concern in this election is the south South. If they vote for Peter Obi, then he will win. The 25% in all southwest states except Ekiti is guaranteed. The 25% in North central states is also guaranteed. |

Politics / Re: Projection For Total Voter's Turnout In Presidential Election. by Joevics(m): 8:35pm On Feb 06, 2023 |
Lol. South east will have the highest turn out this election. Southwest will have low turnout, especially amongst Tinubu supporters who believe he would win by rigging. IPOB has already stated that they are not against the election. |
Politics / Re: 2023: Fresh Nextier Poll Projects Peter Obi’s Victory by Joevics(m): 6:06pm On Feb 06, 2023 |
Digitron:The mistake most people make is thinking that Peter Obi is not known in the North. He has become quite popular, especially since Tinubu and the APC started talking about him. Yes, 27% may seem high. However, bear in mind that Obi has a specific demographic in the north (minority Christians and non-northerners, on lockdown. You can arrive at over 25% if you add the northerners that just like him based on what they heard. 1 Like 1 Share |

Digitron:Lol. Obi has several support groups in Kastina. They have been campaigning since Inec declared the campaign season open. The governor of Kastina had to send the Police to disperse them when they wanted to hold their 1 million man march. Kastina is up for grabs for APC, PDP, NNPP and LP. 4 Likes 1 Share |
