the pen is too big for them. Please demarcate and please look for nearby farmers to buy the feed from you. It'll expire 3 months after production. Feeds are best used within one month from production date. Grower is not meant for them.

@kayo while waiting for the pictures I guess you do the isolation and give special attention to them. Do a Little post mortem examination. Check the tigh muscle(for gumboro) and proventiculus(for Newcastle) for hemorrhages. Admacine + oxyfuravit/kepro NCO will help for now

bros its NEWCASTLE
if you look well you will see white poo
as you know newcastle is stubborn it cause almost 100% motrlity and its effect with 24hrs
i suggest you look for strong antibiotic +virucine, remove the birds and disinfect the cage with diluted Hypo and wait.

i once put 50noilers, at about 5weeks this disease attack it only leave 18 female bird for me all within48 hrs
sorry4 d loss but remember to always vaccinate against gumboro, newcastle
His own case could be Newcastle due to the respiratory distress and the mortality pattern but your own was gumboro if you ask me. The mortality is so fast and it comes with whitish diarrhoea too with high morbidity.

Can't find much problem with this except the feeders and drinkers, if you're going for manual, it'll be cheaper than that. If you're going for automatic it should be costlier than that. I believe the battery cage will come with full accessories. For the office equipment I believe you mean some farm equipment like debeaking machine, automatic vaccinator, lantern, heat source (gas brooder, coal pots), buckets, demarcator, scale, knapsack srayer etc. From the analysis, I guess you're new. You should have grouped them well. The vaccination which I believe medication should be part of it, Feeding, money for acquiring things like charcoal, kerosene, wood shavings, disinfectants, cost of doc should come under cost of production. The crates and cages, office equipment, drinkers and feeders, battery cages should come under farm equipment. Can't find feeding for the broilers because that money for feed can't feed both in this recession. I'll also advice you start small. Its not always easy at the Beginning, visit farms and learn more and get an experienced worker. I stay in the East, a poultry consultant. I've done such work for people in Imo state. You can reach me on 08108887841 call and WhatsApp. Thank you

Asides the fact that it is meant for humans, you dont apply tetracycline to prevent but to cure a baterial infection where a strong resistance to normal antibiotics is observed.

like a said, you've nothing to worry about as your birds are just 100.
sir yemi he needs to worry 100 broilers no be here. Some persons can't afford to feed them. Let's encourage others we all started somewhere. Thanks #noqualmsplease

Not all of them will eat quickly and I can't force them to eat. What I usually do is to dip their beaks in their water as I take them out of their shipping box and soon as they swallow they know how to drink. The milk acts as nourishment till they are able to eat. Within 30 minutes yesterday they were all active and drinking by themselves despite the journey from Ibadan to Lagos.
newly hatched chicks can survive for close to 72 hours without feed. To me the milk is not needed now unless you want to vaccinate and for the tetracycline, its an antibiotic just that it's meant for human which may even be stronger

Agriculture / Re: Why No Big Poultry In South East by Jofez: 4:37pm On Mar 15, 2017
The reason they still come to south west especially Ibadan is because most hatcheries are located there and they've made good names. Not that we don't have hatcheries in south east, doc transporters are all in Ibadan and you know not all buses carry doc. If you buy from sunchi in Enugu, you've to look for car to transport it and its usually commercial car or "chatter" which is very expensive. So to save yourself the stress, you order from Ibadan and call the driver coming to your area to bring them for you.
