The only thing that Transcorp can do now is to invest heavily into the power (electricity) sector of the economy. All those rubbish about downstream/upstream (i mean oil) are rubbish. If they can become like GE, i will be on the line to preach their gospel across the nation. |
Those guys are bringing in the new outh. Does anyone know what's up with Bubba. |
Getting a Nigerian passport is damn easy. Get to the passport office with a passport photo, they will give you a form after that they will take your photoshot (which will appear on your pali). Then you are home. It cost just 10k Naira. Beware of the Festac Town office, I'm aware of a few people who got new passports there and had 'problems' while travelling. It seems some of the passports issued from that office are not genuine.I wonder why they have not linked all their stations to a central server where people can get details and info about a passport number. |
Military training helps alot. 90% of past US presidents have served in the army (as combatant) or in some order para-military capabilities. Same also for the UK monarchy. Nigeria need a iron hand. |
I agree, but it's like you are using your site and portfolio as a yardstick (from your refrences to it). Nairaland does not have a fancy layout or picture still thousnads are signing up; Think about that. |
Shake it like a salt shaker! Shake it like a salt shaker! Shake it like a salt shaker! Shake it like a salt shaker! Shake it like a salt shaker! Shake your hips [s]Pussy poppin till you percolate First booty on duty no time to wait Make it work with your wet t-shirt Bitch you gotta shake it Till your camel start to hurt Say the heels on your feet With the strap around your ankles Jangle, jangle, jangle Call that bitch Bo Jangles Juicy like fruit or douche like Coupe DeVille Used to get loose on the goose for real[/s] Those beats are PHAT. Do you guys know that Nigeria version of Lil jon and YingYang twins are PSquare. |
Dan Brown's novel, 'The Da Vinci Code' is only a fictional work. Don't get carried away by it. |
kris is only a praise seeking maniac (no dizzin intended). I wonder why someone will start a thread and start saying he's the best Nigerian designer. For God sake functionality is the main thing, not the design; the design can only appeal to the eyes. Of what use is a Hummer that can't climb a hill which a volks(1st gen) will glide over smoothly. What you think is the worst might be the best for someone else, it's not for you to jugde if you are good or not. All these self praising reminds me of all these yeye politicians i Nigeria right now. |
I find this revelation from cheetahcub et al very amazing, because i carry this card and since the day i obtained it, i have only been able to make payment for a software i downloaded for my handheld device and that took place in August 2005. All subsequent payments i tried making with this card where denied as the system complains of it's inability to get an authorization for the payment e.g-ebay. Reason for this, i honestly don't know. Maybe because the card originates from Nigeria or for other reasons unknown to me. All i know is that, the card has remained with me, utterly useless. In the last Wednesday Guardian (25, 2006), Mr. Basil Udotai of Nigeria Cybercrime Working Group pointed out this problem, he even said that most of the issuing banks staffs and management don't know such problem existed with their product. some guys have said www.graphcard.com work well for them but i have never tried it before. |
templates are good but most of what u see online are so stereotypic and cheap...But the way some people use it, it's more or less a defacement. |
but these small pikins don't know left from right..And most of the so-called designers in here are nothing but Template(s) Defacers. |
I design as an hobby (though it may become full time job soonest). But i don't consider myself a designer, i prefer the backend job. |
You guys need to stop all these rubbish in here. We want the TOP TEN desinerz to STAND UP. |
It's also important to point out that American are the most paranoid people on planet earth. |
What do yall expect from one who's that's crazy and drunked. Afterall he's the kind of dem crunk fellas and babes. |
This thread will surely be the testbed for Nairaland tech-warfare. |
The world is shifting from desktop apps to web 2.0 (web services) and the major thing that powers that is AJAX. We all need fucntional immediacy in our applications, AJax is what's going to deliver that on the web. I was on this site yesterday, so it happens that i wanted to do a registratiion for the forum (not knowing i already had an account there), as i finished entering my email i was told that the e-mail already exist (this is without clicking any submit button), isn't that great. I know the little problems that Ajax have right now (link state etc) will be solved when better specifications come out. Before nobody give a shit about CSS for layout, but with the introduction of positioning with CSS 2.0 we have seen a massive support for moving from table based layout to CSS based layout. Am very very optimistic about Ajax. Anyone can try meebo, Google Suggest, Google Map, and writely to see Ajax in action. That's correct. The truth though is, most web developers are self-taught. So they know little about the semantics of what is out there and when not to use them. Most web developers have never read one RFC. Yet they claim to be developers. How can you be a developer if you don't know the recommended standard practices in your industry?Virtually 95% of what i know i IT i thought myself, still i always go under the hood, that way learning the technology will be very simple since i know the intricacies of what am dealing with. But at times going under the hood will not give you the desired immediacy you may want. Or does it make sense to go through all the Google Map API to be able to get something done with the API. |
In this age of broadband internet i wonder if someone will still be tie down with obsolete apps. Backward compatibilty will always make someone backward in any project. These days 90% of web users have the latest apps on their systems. Anyway it's left for every developer to determine the technology and tools that will be suitable for him. No one can force anyone to use anything. We must all know the backend matter most. A clasical example is the WAEC and NECO online registration websites. Although the NECO site is more appealing to the eyes, but the back end is not that so good. WE MUST ALL DO THINGS THAT WILL MAKE THE CLIENT NOT TO REGRET INVESTING IN WEB TECHNOLOGY. |
But they don't sell cracks, neither do they go about with Uzis and AK. |
Why al these Ajax war. Ajax has come to become the new saviour of the web, take it or leave it Ajax will rule the web in no distant future. Gmail, Kahuna (new Hotmail) and also The new Yahoo Mail they make good use of Ajax. This has shown that Ajax has come to stay. I dey go learn am now now. Learn Corel draw the more!,you are good at it.@mikebuddy i don't know where i can clasify you. But i know for sure you are a wannabe, it's good but you must learn how not to run people down when you don't have genuine proof. If that was desgined in CorelDraw i will take it as an achievement (that will mean am proficient it that). You need to sit down with either PhotoShop or Fireworks to get that. |
If yall confer on me the title of Prophet i really really deserve it. Before my forced hiatus, i predicted that this is going to be a thread where webmasters (even templaters) will come to flex their muscles. Now am more than justiified.

How many graduates have got enough resorces to sponsor themselves to conferences. You are only lucky that you are previledge. 90% of recent graduates can't prove what they say they know. |
It will be a good thing if anyone can surely come up with larger20's idea. But when you look at the logistics required it's only the government that can execute such project. It would have been better if govt provide the logistics and then the private companies charge people say like N100/ID. N100 in 120 Million places is sure jackpot. |
Joftech,If anyone accuses me of any wrong-doing the best i can do is to prove him wrong. Why has NBC not been proved wrong since all these years. |
It's ma job bro . I get paid for something I love doin' and not chillin @home . I bring money to tha table and you should C what I have done in Nigeria (My ma's country) . When last did you do something reasonable fo' ya country? Homeboi.I do things that will make all people happy, not to rob Peter to pay Paul. If it's true that you work for IG's company you wouldn't be saying all these shit right here, unless you want him to be heading back to the court room. Those stuffs are incrmininating. But if it's true, it's means you are been used. I pray you don't end up like Mr. Williams |
I take it that you are not dissin me with that last post of yours, are you? For the record i started the thread that talked about "The worst Nigerian site" here on Nairaland. What i only know is that good and bad designers can co-exist in the market, it's only left for clients to determine the bargain they want to get with their money. Am sure in no time some people will flood this thread flexing their design prowess , thanks to templates. |
One ironic thing is that people that know the stuffs they do don't talk. |
There's national ID here in Nigeria. The only thing is that they have just started the distribution, so it's not everyone that have it yet. |
Yeah i have that book by Kevin Yank. I have fiished it but am still going over it again. |
menike said he works for Murder Inc, that's another name for "Killer-for-hire" so i don't blame him. Am so sorry for a parent that allow their child to be carried away by the decadence of the society. |
