CrimeUS Court Gives New Date For Hushpuppi’s Sentencing by Jogideen(op): 10:49am On Feb 05, 2022
The United States District Court for the Central District of California has announced the postponement of the sentencing of Nigerian fraudster, Ramon Abbas better known as Hushpuppi.

The court case has been postponed till July 11, 2022.

Justice Otis D. Wright granted the order after Hushpuppi’s lawyers led by Louis Shapiro entered a request for postponement. He is expected to remain in custody in the intervening period of the delay.

Ripples Nigeria reported a couple of days ago that Hushpuppi was previously scheduled to be sentenced on February 14 for duping people across different continents to the tune of millions of dollars. He pleaded guilty last year to the charges, seeking a lighter sentence.

Hushuppi risks getting a 20 years jail sentence; a 3-year period of supervised release; a fine of $500,000 or twice the gross gain or gross loss resulting from the offence.

Same court had also ordered the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to arrest the suspended Head of the Intelligence Response Team, DCP Abba Kyari, for his alleged role in a $1m scam allegedly perpetrated by Hushpuppi and five others.

Nairaland GeneralBuhari Doing A Lot To Protect Nigerians – Lai Muhammed by Jogideen(op): 8:07am On Dec 16, 2021
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on Wednesday, reacted to a remark by former President Olusegun Obasanjo that President Muhammadu Buhari has nothing more to offer in tackling banditry, kidnapping, and general insecurity in the country.
Mohammed said the remark that Buhari can’t tackle insecurity in Nigeria is fallacious and untrue.
Addressing a press conference in Abuja, the minister stressed that Buhari is doing a lot to keep Nigerians safe.
He pointed out that the president is equipping the military to effectively tackle insecurity in the country.
“Gentlemen, President Buhari has done so much, under very difficult economic and social conditions, to tackle insecurity in our country. Not only has he done so much. President Buhari continues to do much more to keep Nigerians safe. To say he has nothing more to offer is untrue, fallacious and smacks of dirty politicking.
“By boosting the number and capacity of our fighting forces, Mr President is putting them in good stead to tackle insecurity not just during the life of his Administration but long after he would have left office. President Buhari is leaving a legacy of security, infrastructural development, economic prosperity and social cohesion for Nigeria. This may not seem obvious today, amidst daunting challenges, but posterity will be kind to this President.
“Yes, banditry and kidnapping have added to the state of insecurity, President Buhari has also continued to provide quality leadership in order to ensure that our security agencies decisively tackle the cankerworm of insecurity of any hue,” Lai Mohammed said.
“No administration in Nigeria’s recent history has provided the security agencies with the hardware needed to tackle insecurity as that of President Buhari, in addition to raising the morale of our security men and women. Only last week, Mr President commissioned an armada of naval boats and ships in the latest effort to enhance our nation’s maritime security. The army, the air force and the police, among others, have also been receiving modern hardware to strengthen their arsenal.”

Nairaland GeneralNorth Bleed For Protest by Jogideen(op): 7:45am On Dec 16, 2021
So Arewa is now crying about insecurity after openly promoting and supporting life styles and things that only fuel insecurity in the region(and all over the country).

Now they’re pleading for the Yoruba and Igbo to join them in protest against insecurities in the North. But during the EndSARS protest against police brutality, the North refused to join. In fact, they publicly kicked against the Endsars protest.
There will be no peace in the North. How will you ever have peace, security and development with 15 million Almajirai on your streets?
The problem of the North started when they decided to accept repentant terrorists into the society.
If you ask me, the North Is Bleeding Protest is a waste of time, it won’t make any difference.
Meanwhile I just heard that a member of Kaduna state House of Assembly Hon Lirwan Aminu is reportedly shot and killed by Bandits on his way to Kaduna.
Couple of days ago, apopular and controversial Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi revealed the kidnap of his senior brother by bandits, saying they demanded ransom to regain his freedom.
When you patronize and applaud terrorism, this is what you get.

EducationJUST IN! Sunday Igboho Diagnosed With Likely Kidney Problem In Beninise Prison – by Jogideen(op): 4:00pm On Oct 13, 2021
Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, has been reportedly diagnosed with possible kidney or lungs illness.
One of his lawyers, Yomi Aliyyu, made this known in an interview with BBC Yoruba, noting that the rights activist developed the illness in Benin Republic prison custody.

According to him, the agitator has also been critically ill and rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The PUNCH had reported that Igboho is currently in a detention facility in Benin Republic.

The Soka, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, home of the pro-Yoruba self-determination activist was invaded by men from DSS about 1:30am on July 1, 2021, leading to the arrest of 12 of his aides, while Igboho managed to escape arrest.

Igboho was later arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic, on July 16, 2021, with his wife, while travelling to Germany and has since then been in detention.

The lawyer raised an alarm that Igboho needed urgent medical attention, saying, “Igboho was not diagnosed with this sickness before he was arrested in Cotonou. It was so critical that they had to rush him to the hospital.

“I can’t tell if he has been returned to the prison from the hospital but what I know is, he’s battling ill health and it seems his kidney and lungs are already being affected.

“Even though I cannot tell which part of his body the sickness has really affected, I know it has to do with his internal organs.”
Sources in the umbrella body of Yoruba self-determination groups, Ilana Omo Oodua, confirmed the development.

“Yes, he is ill and his kidney appears affected. We are not very sure yet. Another test result is expected for confirmation. We are working on that and I can assure you that he is in safe hands,” one of the sources said.
When contacted, the spokesperson for Ilana Oodua, Maxwell Adeleye, said, “Expect our reaction soon. But the government should be warned that nothing must happen to Igboho.”

Following the raid, Igboho sued the Federal Government and demanded ₦500 million as special damages for the damage done to his house and his car and another N500 billion as exemplary and aggravated damages.

The court had awarded N20 billion against DSS for the “illegal” invasion of Igboo’s home in Ibadan on July 1.

Igboho also sought an order of the court directing the respondents to return all the items seized from the house.

He listed the items to include, N2 million cash, one thousand Euros, travel documents including international passports belonging to him and his family members, gold jewelry and wristwatches, two mobile phones, and other items yet unknown but which were allegedly carted away by the SSS.
