lagbaja: 80% of Niger land mass is covered by the Sahara desert. Also, if you look at the occupied areas of Northern Nigeria and Niger, you will notice that they have similar population density which ranges between 50 and 90 persons per square km. That explains the wide disparity in overall population density of Niger Republic compared to Northern Nigeria Now, you agreed that the 80% of northern Niger lies in Sahara desert which made Nigeriens migrate to the south and made the south more populated than the north. Now, why didn't you agree with the other poster that said in human habitation, the south is usually more populated than the north...Is it not same reason that made the northern cattle rearers go to the south during dry season in search of food? If truly North is more populated than the south, why is bvn enrollment in the south more than the north? When it comes to indices that involves taking our biometrics like jamb registration, number of active telephone lines etc?the south is ahead of the north.Even vat payment, number of vehicle registration etc. Moreover, the fact that Kebbi state is the largest producer of rice doesn't mean that the north is not a dry land except both central region.Even in the Sahara desert, some crops and animals thrive there and can live for more than 100 years. |

tbarrister: The North obviously have more population than the South. The number of votes says it all
It's only in nigeria where a man with 1 wife and 5 children, practices family planning and late marriage yet thinks his region has more population than a man with 4 wives and 38 children (+- wives), frowns at family planning and loves early marriage. Hahaha Be deceiving yourself there..Every matrix that can be used to determine our population like number of registered vehicles, bvn, number of active telephone lines, number of active bank account, number of students enrolled etc, the south has more.. Moreover, why is it that the population of Niger(country) with the same culture, tradition and religion with larger land mass than the whole of Nigeria is just 20m plus while Nigeria northern region claim it's over 100m. |

Don't stress yourself opening a domiciliary account. If you have a gtbank naira account, give it to the sender. When it's sent, gtbank will open a temporary dollar account linked to your naira account for it to be warehouses and gtbank will pay you in dollars. They won't give you naira even if you want it in naira. |

APCNig: Gbaja has a replacement already. His name is Akeem Muri-Okunola. He is currently Tinubu's Private Secretary, that was the same position that Raji Fashola was holding when Lai Mohammed was Tinubu's Chief of Staff in Lagos.
So, nothing catches Tinubu unaware. He plans for decades to come, not just few years I don't think Akeem has the charisma to be the chief of staff.Akeem is young too.Gbaja is an experienced administrator and politician. I think Faleke can rival Gbaja. |

bitbillionaire: The man has a point.
Abuja by the virtue of it's geographical location at the center of Nigeria and it's role as the capital city of Nigeria is the mist detribalised city that actually unites all Nigerians, unlike Lagos where yoruba people no wan gree say 'na no man's land'. It makes sense that the headquarters of all Federal Parastatals should be in Abuja; otherwise, kukuma scatter the agencies and Ministries to many states.
Tinubu ought to have maintained the status quo.
If the current CBN's building in Abuja is no longer enough to contain staff nothing stops them from building or renting another office in the same Abuja for additional staff they have.
Moreover, in this age of internet, zoom meetings, whatsapp video calls, CBN staff in Abuja doesn't even need to come to Lagos for any thing when they can request for electronic version of whatever documents they need from any bank anywhere in Nigeria while staying in Abuja You can't supervise banks virtually.Thats why there is no effectiveness. All loans granted by banks are supposed to be monitored by CBN, Usage of Form M and Form A are supposed to be monitored regularly.Effective monitoring will reduce fraud in the banking industry. |

Ezemeiyogu: When all these relocations are done and Lagos takes all, nobody should cry "Lagos belong to the Yoruba". You can't site everything in Lagos and then turn and want to have absolute control of Lagos. I see this administration addressing or trying to address the wrong things. This is the least of the issues bedeviling this nation but then, I don't expect anyone to agree with me. It's what it is! Lagos will allow you to prosper as you wish but don't bring your tribalism to Lagos..Less I forget, don't meddle in Lagos politics. If you can adhere to these, I assure you of the maximum hospitality that foreigners enjoy in Lagos. |

When it's time, the southeast will succumb to regionalism and resource control and that's it. Tinubu is not Jonathan who doesn't know the power he has. |

DMerciful: This is a political move, only a discerning mind can see it. You think the northern elites are foolish?
When Tinubu move key sectors he can move to Lagos, he'll begin to talk of restructuring. If there's restructuring with resource control, where do you think the funds from CBN and FAAN would go? Lagos! You are seeing it as a political move ryt..Look at it, does it make sense to you sending Cbn staffs to Lagos for banking supervision for 2 months and lodge them in hotel and still pay them out of office allowance?Mind you, it's only banking supervision department they are moving to Lagos not the whole cbn.Dont forget that the banks they are supervising all have their head offices in Lagos |
