TravelRe: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by john2son5:
Dear VO. Am not sure you understand my msg. There was nothing dubious about my uncle abducting me. I lost my dad and my uncle new my mum will not be able to provide for me, so my uncle and his wife aducted me and my biological mum gave me up for abduction. The whole process was legal. Well, I was only 12year old when all this happened, but to my best of knowledge my uncle didn't lie then. He wanted to make sure I was properly provided for. My question is can I file immigrant VISA for my biological mum or I will just have to use a normal visiting visa (Non Immigrant Visa)?

Hello VO. Hope you are annoying your holiday? I am a US citizen. I became a citizen through abduction by my uncle when I lost my dad. that means my biological mom gave me up for abduction. now I am married and just had my first baby. I want my biological mum to come assist me.
My questions are.
Can i still apply immigrant visa for her?
If no, can I send her an invitation stating she is my biological mum and I need her to come see my baby?
Note - we've always being in touch and always come to Nigeria to see her.

Dear VO,
I have quick questions that need your urgent response.
1. I have my IMMIGRANT VISA, all the single way tickets am getting are too expensive, the round trip are affordable. Can I get the round trip ticket even when I know I won't use the return?

2. Will i be asked of other documents ( marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc) at the POINT OF ENTRY apart from the sealed envelope given to me?

3. I cannot find my orginal police report and birth certificate some days after my interview. I cant remember if it was given back to me after the interview. If I don't find the police report and since am not sure if it is inside the sealed envelope, should I do a new one b4 traveling ? Or it is inside the sealed envelope? because I submitted it on the day of my interview but cannot remember if it was among the other documents that was returned to me.

Thanks Alot VO, my mouth cannot express how great it feels having you to talk to all the way. Thanks

Goodmorning VO,
I am aware you dont respond much to question for NVC but I really want know, if I need to write my name or case number at  the back of the passport photograph am sending to NVC or leave it blank?
This information is really delaying me.
My wife is filing I-130 for me and we are about to send documents required to NVC.
Anybody in the house can also respond to this, if the person is very sure of what I should do.

Thanks all.

Dear VO,
thanks for your response to my question. I read your comment on someone else's question about birth certificate.
I have original birth certificate issued by defunct bendel state but because the certificate is old and when I was starting my l-130 application I was advise to also get NPC attestation of birth. Now I used the NPC attestation of birth and my old original birth certificate. The stamps on the birth certificate are also not very clear again.
Can using this two proof of birth at the same time posse any problem?
Note that my birth was not registered with NPC before now because the commission was not existing when I was born.
Await your response.
My mouth cannot say how thankful I am for all you are doing for us.

Good morning dear VO,

My wife is filing i 130 for me.

All my school original certificates and marriage original certificate are laminated.

Someone told me that laminated original certificates may not be accepted or allowed for verification during interview.

Please dear VO, is this information true?

Is anything wrong with my laminated original certificates for verification during my interview?

Thanks and God bless

Hello VO, thanks for your quick response.
I till have another question,
Your response is making me feel bad the more because the small wedding thing was all my idea and it seems from your response the pictures means alot.
if I do a church wedding with a big reception before my interview, can I add the pictures to my court wedding pictures? Will doing 2 weddings with different wedding gown and suit not pose any problems?

Thanks

Hello Dear V O,
someone told me of this forum, following it till this moment when i have to comment and ask a question.
i will like to say God bless my friend that told me of this platform and God bless you so much ma'am (VO), your response has very informative and helpful.

my wife filed form i-130 for me and it is now in NVC.

we did not do a big wedding, all we did was an indoor traditional wedding and a court marriage, we were less than 10 in the court wedding because we got there very early because of the anticipation that a lot of people are wedding on that day. we were the first couple to be wedded that day, so some friends and family members could not make it on time but my parents and my wife's parents were there with us. we didnt do any reception after the court wedding but there was refreshment in the traditional.
i did not see it as problem until i joined this platform and gets to understand the seriousness of this process. Every information provided to USCIS about our marriage and life is true and we added the pictures we took during this two events. my wife is a US citizen.
my questions are-

1, Do you think this small wedding thing could be a problem?
2, Would you advise, we quickly do a big church wedding before my interview, so i will have more colorful pictures with large guest present to bring during my interview?
3, Are the wedding pictures a primary criteria

i am worried about it now because the whole small wedding thing was my idea, i prefer to put all that money for a big wedding into my master degree when i get there( it was not born out of selfishness, that was just how i saw it then) but my wife will kill me grin if this poses any difficulty.

i wait your response.

best regards
