The world is still very much in a pandemic and mission stations would open up as soon as they are given clearance by their government not by Nigerians.
Sadly no amount of our pressuring or telling them anything would make a nation take decision in our interest against their country’s.
Exercise more patience
Another thing you should understand is that most government agencies try to look into issues when it’s all over social media. South Africa has not yet opened up their airports and also has a higher COVID case than Nigeria but they will start accepting new applications from next week. It’s because they are always vocal and active on their High Commissions twitter handle and also disturbing TLS on LinkedIn. Surely, one of their the top bosses will stumble on it and ask questions to know why things are being held up. So please contribute to making our petition visible.

I understand your point but since there has been movement and some places have it under control then they should allow essential travel. Attend to those who needs visa for essential travels etc. Someone should not lose their family or job because they don’t want to reopen now. Their work do not involve face to face interaction as much as possible.

It’s not their mind it’s all about the mind of the mission so indirectly it’s the mission decision to reopen VAC not TLS decision.
They just replied me on LinkedIn that the UKVI in Nigeria has not opened yet so they can’t do anything. So we will have to wait till they reopen. I would suggest going under @ukinNigeria handle on twitter to tell them to allow for new applications and work on existing ones.

I guess I am in the same "situation" as you... I did my biometrics March 3rd (Tier 2) and up till now, I am expecting them to return my passport. Meanwhile, UKVI confirmed to me that a decision has been made since March.. I don't know why TLS is yet to return passport despite opening for passport return last week.
I had my biometrics on March 19. A decision was not reached before the lockdown. Did you get an email from UKVI that your passport is ready for collection? How did UKVI confirm the decision to you?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by johnez1987: 2:07pm On Jul 04, 2020
Has anyone who was awaiting a decision from UKVI before the lockdown received a reply on their application? I’m just wondering if they are attending to people who have already done biometrics.

Yes ..
When did you go for biometrics? Also what category of visa did you apply for?

TLS just announced the opening of their centres for passport return services only. https://pos.tlscontact.com/los_en/ for those who are waiting to collect their passport or apply for the 30 days vignettes

Thank you Sir. I'm done learning HTML/CSS, I used freecodecamp, MDN, and a course on udemy. I'm learning JavaScript at the moment with MDN and eloquent javascript.

I see the job listings on SO every time I visit that platform, do prospective employers go through applicants profile on SO at least to ascertain a level of interactiveness or they use other metrics like github, and a portfolio website? Thanks.

You should build up your GitHub profile, portfolio if you are a frontend engineer. But more often than not you need to articulate your skills in your resume.

Good evening sir, sorry for the intrusion. how long have you been coding and what advice would you give a beginner that is just starting out? Thanks.
Been writing code for about 6 years now. If you have no experience with coding I would suggest starting with html/css if web programming is your thing. If you have a little experience then you can start learning python or go to https://freecodecamp.org to start learning.

Please what website did you use to get the job?
It depends on the field of work or occupation you are looking for. Mine was on LinkedIn and stackoverflow. You might want to check which site advertises the job you are looking for.

Hi Everyone. Hope you are all well. I seriously think we should all start putting pressure on TLS contact to open their centers, especially on LinkedIn. Especially those of us that are waiting to apply for tier 2 visas to get to out jobs.

I’ve been following Their page on LinkedIn, and whenever they post anything, South African applicants descend on the comment section, asking that they open the centers there. I think Nigerians waiting should do the same.

Don’t know about all of you but I’m very frustrated. Let’s put the pressure on please.

This is the link to their LinkedIn please comment in the comment section of their posts. https://www.linkedin.com/company/tlscontactofficiel

I think we should tag @ukinNigeria, @ukhomeoffice and @pritipatel on twitter, go to the TLS Contact page on linkedIn and pressure them to reopen the VAC. My passport has been there since March. I am supposed to resume for a job since April. It’s getting frustrating. I pray my employer do not change their mind.

NYSC / Re: NYSC... C14, GOMBE State Letz Meet Here by johnez1987: 7:08pm On Nov 01, 2014
The new call up letter can be reprinted for those who paid 4000 naira but for those who did not pay you either have to pay for the 4k or hope when they send the remaining call ups for stream 2 yours will be included. But I wouldn't gamble that if I were you.
After the 3 weeks camp in Niger, we would be asked to choose a state you will be redeployed to. If you are lucky you might be sent there or sent to a state close to the state of your choice. This was confirmed by a friend in batch b stream 2.
Also you can redeploy to the state of your choice if and only if you are married and u want to be with your spouse or you have a serious health issue which will be verified. Bringing a fake medical report will attract penalty and punishment.
God bless us as we wait for the stream 2 set and may God put us in the state of our choice
Amen
