Education / The Acceptability Of Online University Degrees In Nigeria by johngreggk: 3:25pm On Jul 07, 2014
Hello fellow Nairalanders.

Please, I need your help with some answers to this question. Being that Online Educational Programmes (like Degree, Masters Degree and PhD) are somewhat unconventional in Nigeria, are certificates obtained through that mode of study really acceptable here should one obtains any from any renown foreign University that offers such programmes (online) as does the University of Nicosia in Cyprus, for example?

Thanks in anticipation.

Politics / Re: 24-hour Curfew Declared In Southern Kaduna by johngreggk: 11:06am On Sep 21, 2013
Hero10001: O Kafanchan City! my sweet Play-ground!!
Why na??
I served (NYSC) 2011/12 in Kagoro area of South Kaduna which is a few km from Kafanchan,.

I can confirm that the major problem there is caused by HAUSA-FULANI men cos
South Kaduna including Kafanchan is a full-Christian area.
However, I enjoyed my service year in there; (Lagos boy na)
"Dog meat" on mondays@ Mallagun. Bussa drink on Tuesdays@ Samaru. Burukutu and Palm-wine on wednesdays after CDS,@ Tum.
Pork meat on Thursdays@ Tunga.
Night-Clubbing on Fridays@ New-world hotels.
Sundays?!! Winners Chapel@ Kagoro.

There are security men at every junction(ARMY n Police)
but there's always tension of FULANI-HAUSA men arriving anytime through the bushes.
We normally sleep with "one eye open" and always good to go in a 7/7 dressing(not like Lagos otondos)..
I always move around with My lagos fares cos e fit happen anytime.
I thank God i came back to Lag safely.
Dunno when to visit North again.
Anyways R.i.p to the dead..
Its good to know you once stayed in my home town and know how things are over here. Every one knows we are peace loving and accommodating, enough to give the Hausas' the portion they stay on. They are very few at the middle of the town and are the ones that always decide whether you sleep with your two eyes closed or not, as we're always on the defensive since 1987 when these all began. They stimulated the Lion nature of the Southern Kaduna man who was always known to have the nature of a lamb. My God give us peace.

"Reminded that the Presidency had consistently denied any involvement in the crisis, Yerima said such was already expected.
He said: “Of course, you don’t expect them to admit that they are part of it. They will always claim that they are not part of it."

But you did not provide any evidence to prove they're involved. And you don't seem to be the only people who worked hard to bring the democracy to stay. GEJ is a Nigeria like any other. In fact, this is not making any sence to me.

I have order items from the US also through them, and it was delivered to my door-step fast and in good condition. Presently, i am expecting another consignment from them that i just ordered for about 2 days ago. They are very reliable, direct, and genuine.
Thank you so much for that contribution, Kenmaro.

Technology Market / NCC Begins Mobile Number Portability Scheme by johngreggk: 9:58am On Apr 23, 2013
Regulator of the telecoms sector, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) yesterday in Lagos kicked off the implementation of the mobile number portability (MNP) scheme, saying the development will give subscribers freedom to choose which service provider to use.

What this means is, consumers of telecommunications services will no longer need to acquire new numbers in order to move from one network service provider to another. They will simply take along their existing numbers along with them to any network of their choice. The power and freedom of choice will, henceforth, rest with the consumer. If a consumer is dissatisfied with the quality of services being provided by a service provider, he/she can simply port out of that network to any network of his/her choice without losing his/her subscriber number. It will revolutionise the way calls are being routed since the National Destination Codes (NDC), that is, the network prefix such as 0802, 0803, 0805, 0809 usually identified with operators will no longer play the role of unique identifier.

Religion / “we Did Everything Prophet T.B Joshua Asked Us To Do Before The Cote D’ivoire... by johngreggk: 6:04pm On Feb 05, 2013
“We did everything Prophet T.B Joshua asked us to do before the Cote d’Ivoire game” – NFF

Top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation have conveyed their deep-rooted appreciation to Prophet T.B. Joshua of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations for what they described as his special support for the national team, Super Eagles leading up to Sunday’s 2-1 defeat of the hitherto dreaded star-studded Elephants of Ivory Coast in the quarter-finals of the on-going Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

Prior to the epic encounter on Sunday in Rustenburg, South Africa, the Super Eagles were merely given an outside chance to prevail over the Elephants who were loaded to the brim with superstar players including Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure.

But Stephen Keshi’s team who went into the game as underdogs, stunned the world including with a magnificent display of amazing skills, grit and team play, to edge their West African neighbours out of the tournament at the quarter-finals stage.

Apparently on cloud nine, Nigeria Football Federation top brass and Coordinator of the Super Eagles, Emmanuel Atta was lavish with encomiums on Prophet T.B. Joshua for what he described as “his wonderful role in the 2-1 defeat of Ivory Coast”.

Moments after the encounter, Attah sent out sms text messages to The “SynagogueMan of God” thanking him for standing solidly behind the Eagles in the game against Ivory Coast.

“We’re very appreciateive of him. He was wonderful and we can’t thank him enough,” Attah screamed excitedly.
“T.B. Joshua was fervent in his prayers forthe team. We observed all that he asked us to do, starting from a day before the game. This is a special victory for the team and the nation and we cannot thank God enough.”

Attah also expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their support and prayers forthe senior national team. He assured that with more of such support, the Eagles will continue to work hard in order to make Nigerians happy.

That is the more reason why we, in the middle belt, must stand against any bill that will make the region a cattle grazing area. A bill like that is on the offing. Cattle rearing is good for our country, but in an event where human lives are endangered because of the barberic life style of the sole practioners (the Fulanis), they are very dangerous to harbour.

so what?
what i can't understand is how can ppl celebrate the very tool/object used to kill their prophet?
Forget about the cross stuff on this thread. If you're a non christian, it will continue to be a mystery to you just like you may be thinking it is on matters of your faith to som1 who does'nt share it with you. However, everone has the right to his believe, and we all must respect that right.

cold: Is there some sort of competition going on between the two major religious strains? The Muslims find an inscription of Allah on a goat, the Christians find the sign of a cross on theirs. The Muslims find the sign of Allah on a rock or on the ground, the Christians try to out do them by sighting Mary or Jesus on a window pane.Oma se o!

No! no need for any competition or attestation of genueness. Non of all these is what should make him who he is. God remains God in all generations, believe him or not. He does'nt need any body's defence.
Politics / Re: Katsina Gov’s Wife Orders Sack Of LG Staff by johngreggk: 4:44pm On Jan 07, 2013
stagger: Easy case to win in court on a legal technicality. There is nowhere in the Nigerian constitution where the First Lady sacks a councillor. That woman had better cross over to Kaduna state and ask Mrs Yakowa whether she had an inkling that she would be First Lady on a Saturday, and wake up on Sunday an ex-First Lady.

Of course, she can cross over to Kano and ask Hajia Maryam Abacha how far. The house where her husband died is still under guard here in ABJ.

People never learn.
You 've just said it all.
Religion / Re: Crossing Your Legs In Church, Is It Wrong? by johngreggk: 9:28am On Jan 05, 2013
I uncontiously do that as well and was onece corrected and I heeded to it. But I 've been thinking, if there is any thing I should not do in the Church (the precence of God) I should't do any where at all, even in my room when I'm alone. Is there any place that has no God's presence? While praying? Yes, I need to get into a suitable mood. Well, its just my personal opinion. But we need sincerity in our worship.
