meelife:1. No limits to number of deferal but school can withdraw thier offer if there is no tangible or sufficient proof of evidence given as reason for deferal. 2.There will always be a refund if you dont commence your study. Refund minus administrative fee. Study your school refund policy, in some instances where students did not complete their deferment process or did not commence the semester, without genuine evidence, administrative fee deducted maybe upto 50%. 3.You must update Dipb and ask their advice on your current situation, that is your letter of deferment, new COE and reasons for the deferment. And your new intended time of travel. That might be your only saving grace at the port of entry. 4. Make up your mind about your travel plans, be ready when you are ready. |
Ernest31:Do a little research your self, there are a list of countries passport holders eligible for the e-visiting visa, unfortunately, Nigeria is not one. Try subclass 600, if u can fufill requirements. |
vikmeek:Your best bet is to have SOA ready even if you are not going to submit any. 1. A friend got a visa, applied Macquarie Uni without doing english test or submitting SOA, however, hes got upto 7 oversea travel experience including doing a 6months course in Ireland. 2. Someone i know also submutted an application, school was Uni of Sydney. He put in some property and assets document as proof being financially capable. Embassy specifically asked for a SOA, he had to put fast money in his account and showed documentation of him recently liquidating one of his assets before he was granted visa. BottomLine: No matter your Uni assesment level, so far your country is AL2 or AL3, embassy reserves the right to ask for more financial proof if not satisfied with what you have submitted. |
efosases:Your best tool is http://cricos.education.gov.au/Course/CourseSearch.aspx Fill the required field and click on each institution to see the cost of your program |
Ogalanyaidi:There is no much concern with different names if he is genuinely your uncle and sponsor. Accompany the statement of account with relevant I.d, e.g passport, a duly signed letter with his contact details, stating the exact nature of relationship with you and why he his willing or going to be your sponsor. This with relevant docs like his payslips, employment letter or business reg., and any other assets he owns should fly. If your uncles account balance is hefty, cool. If not add the 6m from your mum as part of financial proof. |
vikmeek:For australia, this is about the only general scholarship category they offer for Nigeria and certain africa countries. It is highly selective and you are bounded to go back to your home country for at least some certain number of years immediately after study. https://www.australiaawardsafrica.org |
uckennety:I think you have sufficient documents. Attach a letter with your uncles affadavit and his valid I.d e.g. passport. The letter should introduce him, state his work or business and also state clearly the connection as a relation, and the reasons he would be sponsoring you. A good Sop that blends your circumstances up to why you need the degree is what u need to work on. I believe you would get a visa. |
To all visa hopefuls, keep the hope alive, no one knows exactly whats causing the delay, but i know this present delay is not peculiar to Nigerians and student visas, alot of people are waiting for their skilled visa invitations that are now overdue, friends i know from UK and netherlands including a Caucasian are also waiting for their holiday visa and work visa respectively, which is overdue too... I will advise all student visa hopeful to contact their schools and be sure of the last date they can resume and get an official response to this effect, should the day elapse before this delay is resolved, just defer to next entry and advise the DIPB immediately with the deferment.. Its too early to loose hope, Visa grant is just the beginning of the beginning and I foresee many grants falling on you guys soonest... Keep the hope alive.. |
For prospective students, please make sure ur chosen course of study is accredited by relevant professional or government body of the field. If it's not stated on the please ask the school and be sure...Don't waste ur money studying a non accredited course in Oz if u want to use the study qualification for P.R. application. The Finance and banking course in ECU is not accredited, and am sure there are more courses like that in ECU and other schools. Having said that, any nairalander in canberra please? I would like to know how suitable it is for students in terms of jobs and accomodation, I just got an offer from uni of canberra and might be coming over very soon.. |
Lissimo2:It is not possible to start work without "not just" enrolling, but commencement of ur study, Ur best shot is just to source for the required money.. The best ur uni would do for you in ur first semester is to reduce ur unit load as a fresh student,(if u av tangible excuse that u might not be able to cope with the unit load) ,after u must have paid ur full semester fees. they would never give u a payment plan for ur first semester because you have signed financial declarations claiming you have the required funds. |
johnHadey:Only God knows what these people are upto.. The last time I checked VEVO, they included masters by course work, and now its no longer there... please ignore this message.. |
For those that don't know, Master's by coursework has been included with masters by research and doctorate to have unlimited work right during and off school session.. This is a big relieve as most work agencies had always used the work restriction to segregate us.. Though it's not easy to combine work and study but this gives a kind of psychological balance knowing you can apply for any job with unlimited work right.. This information is available on VEVO. Know your right. |
Solitin40:No, the course has been restricted for international students...am a kitchen assistant/casual labour jobs.. |
I hail all the bosses that find time to come here to help people, hopefully when am more settled, there would be time to come here often and help those wanting to come, as there are days I sleep for just 3hours, no time to bath or anything, just on the move for work and study.. Anyway if you are coming to perth, u could send me a pm, for pickup and tips on settling down... I got to know of this forum not till my medical stage, but the love and help cannot be quantified... I actually got to ds country and settled without anybody, believe me, it is not the best experienced, and I won't wish that for anybody.. Just have a plan and motivation b4 coming to oz...it might be very rough initially, but with time u would settle down... It is well my brethren. |
BADNEAT:This an example of what ur sop should contain... Funny enough I would be changing course to masters of nursing (graduate entry) next semester.. Statement of Purpose. The dynamic world we live in today is a place where immense financial and economical activity has resulted in wealth being amassed and destroyed at an unprecedented scale in different parts of it. These have brought about challenges which will require increased depth and understanding for the changing dynamics of markets and economies, which will present opportunities to build more reliable systems and institutions. I believe this backdrop provides a great opportunity to further my academic studies in the area of finance. My interest in Money planning stemmed from my childhood days, when I would try to dictate what and what not should be bought for me based on my personal priorities and also try to get cash value for proposed presents or gifts I was promised, though this actions where involuntary at that time, it became a part of me gradually and consistently. I also grew up knowing my mum to be a savvy business woman and a strict financial planner, and I guess that also naturally rubbed off on me. I was able to gain my firsthand experience in one of our family business that started right after my secondary education, it is a water factory that produces safe drinking water in economical packs and made affordable for low income earners. Apart from the factory being a great opportunity that sharpened my business and financial planning skills, I was also motivated to work because the brand name for the factory and products was coined out of my first name. As my mum was busy with the other businesses, and I was the only sibling available at the time, we intended for me to assist the new factory for 2years, after which I can go for my university studies, but 2 years turned out to be 5 years, albeit, without regrets as ![]() ![]() ![]() ? is the most profitable of the family subsidiaries today. Work descriptions while at the factory included but not limited to Sales, distribution and accounts managements, Production quality and quantity management, Logistics management, Staff deployments, Brand representative and customer service. It was from this experience that I felt studying Industrial Mathematics at undergraduate level would overcome my weakness and satisfy my interest and provide me with solid basics and more knowledge for a future career. My desire to pursue further academic studies is fueled by the enriching and complementing experience I have had with ![]() ![]() ![]() My undergraduate academically rigorous degree in Industrial Mathematics also enhanced the passion of finance as a further academic study. I believe that further studies in finance and banking especially one that is more mathematical, will deepen my understanding and knowledge, which I believe is going to be useful in improving myself, family business and the general economical landscape of Nigeria. Some modules provided in the Finance and Banking course at ECU such as "financial analysis and modeling", "financial markets and institutions", "investment management", and "quantitative skills for business" are of key interest to me because of prior knowledge and the practical application it will have to recent problems confronting Nigerias economical landscape. I was also very fascinated to discover that some subtopics for my course like Statistics, Probability, Time Series analysis, Growth rate projections, error analysis, complex systems analysis e.t.c. are actually topics have come across in my undergraduate study. To achieve my career goals, I know I need to learn much more about current developments and techniques in finance, financial markets and financial applications and also acquire hands-on experience of financial analysis. Earning a master’s Degree in Finance is a next step in my career that I dream to achieve. I believe this master's Degree will provide me with theoretical understanding, an in depth idea of practical approaches in aiding managerial decision-making and research skills to enable me to develop an expertise in the core areas of financial strategies and global corporate financial operations. My short term goal and first point of call/duty on returning home after this course would be to reposition the ![]() ?? brand, not just as water manufacturers only but a competitive health&safety brand that would manufacture and produce other healthy liquid based products like Vitamin water, Energy drinks, Ozonated water, e.t.c while still maintaining its core values of safety, healthy and affordable. I love to impact knowledge and share ideas too, so, I would apply for part time lecturing job in Nigeria, preferably, my home state educational institutions. Knowing also that the Nigerian economy is not at its best at present due to the ailing price of crude oil and other factors, the present Government is aggressively trying to diversify from crude oil dependency, now the Youths are getting tremendous support and encouragement to engage in Entrepreneurship, Agriculture, Vocational skills and more. In view of this, I tend to believe that there would be more need for proper quality financial advisory and planning, especially on seeking/applying for funds, managing finances and utmost utilization of available capitals, most especially for start ups and the small, medium enterprises(SMEs) which my expertise should come in handy. I would also explore other areas and ways I can be of service for my country and contribute my quota to the Nation's building. My long term career goal is to combine fundamental, technical and quantitative analysis (i believe returns can be exploited effectively from these combinations) effectively by becoming a very successful and reputable Financial Analyst and Investment consultant and own/partner a world class Financial/Investment Firm. The Masters of finance and banking, though available locally, would not give me the indepth satisfaction of quality, inclusiveness and experience that I so desire, also the travel experience and the global connections that would be made would play a major part in my life goals of being an international player in the financial field. Australia happens to be a developed country that has a rich and vibrant multicultural and peaceful society with a world class educational system where all her Universities are world class and their Degrees honored and respected globally. It was no hard choice settling for my oversea quality study destination. I have also fallen in love reading about Perth as a city and what it boasts of, most notable is the geographical location and weather conditions that sounds or seems just like Lagos City. My choice of Edith Cowan university for post graduate studies stems from the facts that ECU is a new school (25 yeras) in Australia, its thirst, hunger and drive for achievements is astounding as regards any new Organisation or institution, this is evident as it was named in the Times Higher Education(THE) Worlds top Universities under 50 years in 2015, also, the 2015 Good Universities Guide rates ECU five stars, the highest star rating, for teaching quality. I believe that the intellectual ethos that ECU fosters will be of more advantage to me, as well as the climate, international and well diversified environment on offer where social and intellectual challenges are present, thus further developing and enhancing my psychological, analytical and logical mind-set. All these will provide me an opportunity to deepen my understanding of finance in a more meaningful way, and in an environment which will be academically challenging and allow me to develop further as an individual. Also, being surrounded by like minded individuals who share the same passion and desire about the subject will allow for an exchange of views and ideas that would benefit all parties. I appreciate the time taken to consider my application and I hope that the information I have shared has demonstrated both my academic ability and my passion to be a part of Australia's prestigious academic institutions as an MSc student. Your name. |
Who is coming to or through perth anytime soon, Holla at me... |
veeokafor:Try kiwi.Com or tripsta.Com They offer the most affordable tickets and accepts naira card, if u av to use kiwi.Com , then the card name must be the booking name, otherwise they won't process ur payment. |

lawland:Except she travelling on south Africa airways to s.a and her next flight too is still SAA, they will lodge her in protea right at the airport there, but if not the case, she would have to use one of the numerous leg chairs right at airlines desk lobby umess she has the mone to book. Sorry 4 late response, it's not easy settling here...especially when there's no one on ground to help.. Finally got an accommodation tOday tho.. Anybody coming to perth should Holla for heads up so u don't go tru the stress most of us went tru. |
lawland:She won't go tru immigration except she doesn't have the connecting flight ticket which am sure she has....no rechecking watsoever, I booked 3days b4 travel for 1054$ with tripsta.Com via Skyscanner.com, southafrica airways took me to southy and Singapore airline to Singapore and later to perthave on anode Singapore airline....I didnt see my baggage all tru till I got to perth. Once she reaches s.a, let her not go downstairs where most people are going atall...she will see a sign for international transfer...it's a quite path up stairs....let her go through then she will see different airlines desk at the far end of that path of international transfer...she can now walk to the airline desk of her next flight to check in and would be given another boarding pass...she would then give or show them her baggage ticket so if it's not already transfered to their flight, they will help her go claim it and put it on board. |
For those on transit, no matter how long, dont pass Tru main immigration, just go straight to where u see international transfers and look for the desk of the airline of ur next connecting flight....and av them assure u ur baggage is on ur next flight... I had 2 stops.....jo'Bourg 8hrs and Singapore 2hrs....no stress connecting... |

bykeman01:.you know Tafe is like Vocational studies where u get diploma and advanced diploma certs? Which is way lesser than a Bachelor’s degree....u need to be able to convince the case officer why u would be applying for a lesser qualification...yes u can work for a certain amount of time while studying...Tafe cannot qualify u for P.R, it can only support ur Bsc/higher qualifications if in related or the same field.. . Use the document check on this link to know the documents u will be submitting. https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/500- |
