Vote buying, vote buying, can't Nigerians reject vote buying? If these corrupt politicians or through their agents come to you for vote buying, can't we say No. Nigerians are the problems of Nigeria. |

Charismatic Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has issued a stern warning to President Muhammadu Buhari over the continuous detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. DAILY POST reports that Mbaka returned to his Adoration Ministry in January, months after he was suspended and sent to the monastery by the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Calistus Onaga. In what could be considered a major message to the nation since he returned, the fiery priest, on Sunday, warned Buhari of dire consequences if his government continued to keep Kanu. He spoke while addressing thousands of his Adoration members. He did not spare the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Governor, Godwin Emefiele, over the scarcity of the new naira notes. Mbaka said if Buhari and Emefiele did not take immediate measures, they would suffer. He said, “It is only in Nigeria that the court can set somebody free and the government will say ‘No’, keep that person. “We pray for the full release of Nnamdi Kanu; Ndigbo are suffering for what they know nothing about; students, workers will not go to work; everywhere is locked up on Mondays; our leaders don’t care; it does not concern them; how can you say it does not concern you? But you are a leader; you must care. “God set someone free and you say the person won’t be free, what God will do to you, you will regret your decision. “Why the judiciary? There are three arms of government- the executive, the legislature and the judiciary, and one arm will say the other is useless. I ask in the name of God and by the power of the Holy Ghost, that our leaders should release Nnamdi Kanu. “We cannot be distracted by new currency and fuel scarcity and there is a problem- the judiciary is dying. If the court can acquit someone and the government will say ‘No’, then the country is finished. It is a coup d’etat against the judiciary and as a man of God, I stand to say, release him. “Do the needful; our people are suffering, a lot of suffering in the country, perpetuated by our so-called leaders; I am not a politician, I am a prophet of God. My job is to speak when God is angry, I will represent the voice of God in anger, when God is happy, I will speak and represent the voice of God in joy. The poor masses are suffering. “If holding that young man will cripple this country, why not release him; Nnamdi Kanu’s case is like a trigger in the gun; you must be careful how you touch the trigger when a gun is loaded. “Don’t tell anybody he is a nobody; he represents a people and the court has said release him; why not release him, especially for health reasons? “I have to render my voice so that when tomorrow the leaders begin to suffer calamity, they will not ask ‘what did Fr. Mbaka say’.” On the naira swap, he said there was no justification for the sufferings the citizens were going through. Mbaka said, “People will suffer to make money and still suffer to take their money and there is still a country; tomorrow you will say Fr. Mbaka said; why do you force me to say something? I am giving both the President and the CBN governor a mandate from heaven, if they don’t want to react immediately and stop this self-imposed wicked suffering on the people, they will suffer. “What a rubbish; why do you multiply misery; people are sleeping in the bank to get their money; in which country has it ever happened? People are now selling money; not dollars; it is easier now to get dollars than to get naira; parents cannot have money to buy foodstuff for their children; I don’t know how many will be alive by the time the so-called new currency will come out. The new currency is not even good, the design very poor, the colour separation rubbish; “And everybody is talking election, election. Will dead men do the election? Men of God you better open your mouths; I have come back from monastery to see my people in suffering, in agony; it is time to tell Pharoah, ‘let my people go’,” he warned. He lamented that parents now spent their nights either in ATMs or in filling stations, stressing “you are killing people; what kidnappers are not doing; you are doing worse. People cannot access healthcare, by the time the doctor gets alert, the person is dead.” He said 99 percent of the population was ignorant of the new naira policy, describing it as “evil in the land. If you are not ready with the new naira, why not push out the old naira?” He said he was saddened that upon his return from the monastery, more Nigerians had lost their jobs. “Do you think that if this situation continues, that Nigerians will do election?” He queried. “What is happening now is a coup d’etat on democracy. But who will say it? To buy pure water, will you do a cash transfer? Why mess up Nigeria because you people are going? Why didn’t you start it all the while? 8 years was enough for you people to stabilise it, wickedness. No job, no food, no house. “The present government, I want to ask you, change, or you people will cry, what you are inviting, you cannot face it. “The Hausas are crying; the Fulani are crying; the Yorubas are crying; the Igbos are crying; the Niger Delta people are crying; the Middle Belt are crying, who are you now leading?” DAILY POST reports that this is not the first time Fr. Mbaka is coming hard on President Muhammadu Buhari administration. In April 2021, Mbaka had called for the impeachment of President Buhari over the rising insecurity in the country. However, the presidency later accused him of demanding for contracts.

CBN is not unaware of these sharp and wicked practises going on commercial banks, infact they are accomplice, if not how many commercial bank managers have been sanctioned. CBN failed in their supervisory function to commercial banks so they should take the blame first. Talking about hoarding cash, it is happening in almost all the commercial banks, they don't want to loose their top customers and such they reserve those new notes to them thereby making it difficult for others access to their hard earned money. |
Mr Emefiele, I am surprised that you don't talk like a professional, if CBN actually want to know how the New naira notes given to commercial bank were used, they can do that. Everyone is blaming CEOs and Managers of commercial banks of sabotaging the efforts of CBN, Don't CBN has right again to sanction any commercial bank found guilty of this act, or would they (CBN) say they don't know how to get those information. If no bank has been sanctioned by now to serve as a deterrent to others, it means CBN is also a culprit. Talking about POS agents and exorbitant charges for withdrawals. Who will monitor them to ensure that they don't charge unnecessarily? Emefiele what are plans in ensuring that what you said are being implemented. The CBN has failed in their responsibility of monitoring the activities of commercial banks as regards the usage, distribution and circulation of these new naira notes... Period!!!!. |
This is how primaries should be done not sending delegates who collect money from all the candidates and vote for the highest bidder. |
It will only take God to save this country, whoever that will emerge the president of this country come May 2023, it is not going to be easy for him. |
They will still come up with another directive in the next two days. Very unfortunate that our so called professionals are only reactivate and not proactive. If Emefiele is a professional as he claimed, he would have seen all these playing out even before bringing this policy to the desk of the President. President Buhari on his own accepted everything hook, line and sinker and append his signature. Anyway below is a quote coming from a freedom fighter if only we had believed him, we wouldn't be where we are today:
|
I don't know why people are making things difficult for others, CBN has mandated commercial banks to be paying lower denominations to their customers. Did they make those lower denominations available to them? If yes, why is if you go to the bank they say they don't have cash. Even though some managers of commercial banks contributed to the scarcity of the new naira notes because of the business they are doing with them, what about the lower denominations? Are they still doing business with those ones? CBN please I implore you you to rise up to your responsibilities, truth be told you still have more to do.

Is this election is not postponed let me bend. Naija hmm, we have never been serious for a deadline before and after independence. Who is ready for bet? Am in. |
Lol "they don't know how to do". Please teach them how to do. Just pay attention and listen to this Baba, his statements and views are not coherent. It is not his fault anyway but his supporters have refused to tell him the truth. I will only advice them to make a script for him , so that he will use a written script in any campaign going forward than disgracing the party upandan |
So what is the essence of all that initial gragra. Emefiele I thought you are a hard man finally you have bowed to pressure. It's a shame !!! |
Those of you saying it can be popsy, go and look for the tiktok video and watch it, she actually mentioned pussy. Since the management of the School frowned at sex for grade, why didn't her report if she was actually facing that. She enjoyed it and made her ways to finals thereby putting the name of the institution in a mud. Whatever punishment metted out against her, she deserves it...period. Nonsense. |
Where is Buhari please?? Do we still have President in this Country? He should address the citizens on this issue please. |
If Emefiele eventually extends this date, he has been defeated and nobody will take him serious again. |
Buhari is just a silent achiever. Since all this call for extension of deadline from NASS, NLC, some governors, and some other individuals. He has never said anything on it or will he say he has not been hearing. Buhariiiiiiiiii........... The fear of Buhari is the beginning of wisdom. He is the only one that can direct Emefiele for this extension but he has bluntly kept mute. Buhariiiiiiiiii. |
But our N5, N10, N20 and N50 make sense even N100 . Why can't CBN print more of these lower notes let it circulate and leave this higher denominations. When you have more lower denominations in circulation, nobody will have more than 10k at hand because it will be very bulky. By so doing nobody will mandate any person to go cashless, doing transfers knowing the implications of carrying bulky lower denominations. A market women who sells pepper in the market will also benefit because one can only have cash that will be able to meet his daily needs. |
I don't understand what is actually happening in this country. Emefiele accused CEOs of commercial banks of contributing to the scarcity of new naira notes as CBN has printed a quite number of these notes. Then the NASS invited the CEOs for questioning. What was the questions put accross by the NASS to the CEOs, where they able to refute or defend this claim by Emefiele. That is what we want to hear, if it is not so, what is the essence of inviting them in the first place. In that case, there was no meeting. And finally, is Emefiele not supposed to be in this meeting?? This people are just playing with our intelligence. |
My brother how can you combine rice and sparghetti? If you want to eat rice, eat rice, if you want to eat sparghetti, eat or you combine any of them with beans. I don't know who is teaching Nigerians this kind of combination. The other in one eatery, a guy requested for okro and ogbono soup mixed together. |
How did she know the dog is pregnant? If the pregnancy of the dog is at earlier stage she wouldn't have known but it is obvious that the dog is pregnant maybe by the size of it's tummy. Aborting the puppy may be very risk. She should know that. |
Haven't we reached a stage whereby we can vote in any location? INEC still have much work to do in nearest future. PVCs just like ATMs should be collected at the point of registration. Just like ATMs too, you can use your PVC to vote any where you are in the country, until we get to this stage, that is when I will take INEC serious. With this we are 💯 percent sure of free and fair election. |
Please you and your friend should equally assist me for a job in Nasarawa. Connect me with a good job there, I will comfortably leave in Nasarawa and wouldn't complain. Please email me asap. Thanks |
I don't know why people cannot reason with their senses, the deadline is 31st January no doubt, what efforts are they making to make sure that the new notes are readily available? Till today ATMs are still dispensing old naira notes even payment across the counters in banks is still old notes. It is not the business of the law makers, because if they want the new naira notes they can easily get it by all means rather it is the poor masses that would suffer for it. How many of us can boast of 10k new naira notes at hand today? |
Please my fellow Nairalanders, we have two things facing us right away now. Some state govts have given public holidays for their citizens to go and collect their PVCs so as to exercise their franchise come Feb. 25. CBN on the other hand said no going back on Jan 31st deadline for collection of old naira notes. Now the question is between Collection of PVCs and depositing old naira notes before deadline, which is more important now? |
Did Emefiele say 100 days? When did the new naira notes was officially flagged off for circulation ? Someone should check for me was it not 15th of December 2022? From Dec 15 to Jan 31st, how many days please ![]() |
iLoveYouToo: |
Nigeria can never learn. Between collecting PVCs and e depositing old naira notes before the deadline , which will you choose. Misplaced priorities. You are asking the citizens to go and collect their PVCs and you have set 31st deadline for collection of old naira notes. Who do us this ![]() |
I don't know the kind of professionals we have in that sector. There are so many ways to go about this cashless economy rather than what CBN did. CBN just wasted funds in trying to print new naira notes. The correct thing they would have done is to allow the old 200, 500 and 1000 notes in circulation, print more of 100 naira notes, let 100 naira notes be the highest denominations. then any 200, 500 and 1000 notes received by the bank will never go out. Mandate banks to be paying 100 notes, ATMs paying 100 notes, give a reasonable time for the retrieve of the old 200, 500 and 1000 notes. You will see people will be forced to go cashless by making transfers knowing the implications of carrying 100 notes with them which will be very bulky. |
Email me asap, I will advise you? |
