Congrats!

What's the traffic on your site like?

Is the site built on a new domain?

Thanks.

Thanks.

The traffic is really small, but I am still building it up.

And to your second question, yes.

Good evening nairaland.
Please I have just got a new phone and need someone to tutor me on what I can do to make money with it.

I don't just want to be jumping form Facebook to Instagram and other social media platform without anything productive.

Please I need someone to teach me. I am a good writer too.
PS. I got the phone because I couldn't afford a laptop. I can start from somewhere

I love your mindset. Not everyone sees things like this...Kudos.

You said you are a good writer, so I will say you should go for freelance writing. You don't need a laptop for that.

All you need to have are good writing skills, your niche (what you write on) and a good portfolio. Then you just need to sign up on freelance platforms and offer these services as skills.

You don't need to pay a dime to anyone to get started. That's how cool it is.

I see a lot of people here who feel like the posted information is not useful at all. The truth is that a lot of Nairalanders have broke mentality so they feel information like this is useless.

It was from a post I read about freelancing that prompted me to do further research on the topic and today, I am making much more from freelancing than I used to in my 9-5 job.

Please I have UI/UX and Graphics skill Buh still looking for placement, I have applied to virtually all the product design jobs on indeed nothing yet anyone who can help with a job or internship would probably save a soul funny how u take time to learn this skills and still struggle to get jobs. Link below is my portfolio link thanks.

I went through your site and I can only say it's amazzziiing. Rather than doing nothing applying for jobs on Indeed, you can start freelancing on Upwork. Who knows? You may get a full remote role there.

Besides, have you tried out LinkedIn. There are opportunities there too. Cold emailing dey there too....find a badly designed site, send an email to the founder telling them how you can help and he/she will likely hire you if they find you good. Just don't focus only on Indeed....there are opportunities out there bro.

No matter what field you are in, having certain career skills can increase your likelihood of success.
Here are the skills Employers are looking out for in recent times.

1. Sales and marketing
2. Healthcare and nursing
3. Data skills
4. Creativity
5. Artificial Intelligence
6. Blockchain
7. Communication and Negotiation skills

I guess the data skills includes data science, analytics (power BI, Tableau) and machine learning. Those skills are hot.

I did a data science internship last year so I know how important the skill is. However sad due to Nigeria situation, I had to drop coding for freelance writing....i.e writing on ML and AI and so far it's been going well!

Thanks for ur prompt response.

Hmm. Where and How do one get the right emails to meet the targeted customer?

I can't teach you that. That's what you will learn from courses on email marketing.

@ bolded
Please does the client provide the e-mails to send messages to , or I'm responsible for that?

I'm still trying to understand the whole e-mail stuff..

The freelancer is responsible for drafting out
emails (promotional based messages) that would engage and compel people to take action.

Between, how old is your site, and did you do any tweaking to get the approval?

Thanks.

Well, the site was created about a month ago. Already, I have a lot of articles there and I am still creating more. I guess I just need to get traffic to the site.

Also, I didn't do any tweaking. Just applied and got accepted.

Hi guys,

I recently applied for the Google Adsense program for my new site and I was accepted after like 2 weeks or so.

I believe there are people here who have made good money from Google Adsense, so I will appreciate any advice on how to earn comfortably from the program.

Bro, I want to find out if you need to have a certificate as well as work experience for you to be accepted on upwork.

Both are not compulsory but they are quite necessary. It's easier for clients to trust you when they see that you are certified in a particular skill and have good work experience.

sorry to stress u sir......
I got the writing skills..
And i am done with upwork verification and so on but since how many days now i haven't recieve any work.... Pls why

Lol, do you think upwork will automatically give you work to do? You have to get out there and start looking for work. Send proposals to clients and prove to them you can help with their work. That way, you can get hired and start earning.

I really love this sir

Keep up the good work

Please can I get some of your samples?

I want to attach it to my proposal

Thanks.

Glad you enjoyed it.

But I can't just give you my "samples" to attach to your portfolio. You have to make yours yourself.

Every freelancer has a unique portfolio containing what and what they are experienced in. It's not wise to use someone portfolio as your own because you are not experienced in that field and may just end up "burnt" on your first gig.

What a coincidence, from Reddit to Nairaland

You're doing great bro!

And your Upwork threads are educational

I apologize for referring to you as " Nigerian boy". I think it sounds somewhat derogatory.

Please I have a question regarding Upwork's direct contract. Does Upwork still collect their 20% fee when using direct contract?

Thanks man. I'm glad I could help!

For the name, no need to apologize....I actually love it grin

Now, for your question, Upwork can't collect 20% fee when it comes to direct contract....when they are not mad angry angry.

They only collect 3.4% of the paid money as fee for using their platform. I explained it well here:
