I was robbed along that Old ipaja road last night at about 9pm. It was a destination trip. When the request came in and I saw Ipaja road, I was very happy and said to myself, it couldn't have been better than that, on a 1.9 surge. Though it turned out to be old Ipaja road and not ipaja road.

After droping rider at one hotel along that same road, I moved a little bit forward from the hotel in order not to block the entrance and then pulled over to take a leak. It would surprise you to know that the place where I parked was well lit because as a night crawler that I am, I always avoid making a schoolboy error.

While I was easing myself, I noticed some funny movements around me, it was some dodgy looking guys smoking what obviously was hard drugs. I was kind of backing my car, saw two guys sitting on my bonnet, by the time I turned properly to face my car, they were like three boys by the side of the driver's side facing my direction and then like four boys by the passenger's side.

Omo mehn!!! I knew immediately that hell was about to let loose. So I quickly put my phone inside my trouser so that it will not damage when it gets to the ground.You know when it's falling down from inside my trouser, it will not hit hard on the ground. So when I felt it getting to the ground, I quickly positioned my leg and push the phone under my car.

Immediately, one of the boys rushed me and held my hand and said "weting u want bring out ?" I said nothing that as you can see I just finished urinating and I'm tightening my belt. He then held my trouser just like the way a police man would 'jack' you by the trouser during street arrest. Na so these small boys drag me enter inside my car and started searching all the places that they thought I would have my valuables. Some of them were standing outside and leaning on my car as though they were the ones that parked the car.

Thank God that most of my trips yesterday was transfers. Only two riders payed cash. They took 4k and some change and then requested for my phone, I gave them the small nokia phone that I have. They said where is the big phone, I told them that the phone was with a phone repairer. Looks like they were satisfied that at least they got some money for drugs, they quickly left and even gave me back my small nokia phone.

Na speed I take come down go carry my phone and zoomed off.
The oldest among those boys would not be older than 25 years. Those boys are ready to die any minute.
Before they left, they quickly hid all their cutlasses, hammer, sharp iron rods. You could smell blood in their eyes. Everything happened less than two minutes.

Another funny and scary thing about the robbery was that the locals that were passing by that sensed robbery, hurriedly passed us and look the other way. Meaning that it was not an unusual thing to them.

One take away from this my horrible experience is : Always have some cash with you, e get why.

1. either it was too too short a trip or
2. u didn't pickup or drop off in the actual pickup and drop off points set by the rider.

This is to checkmate people that request themselves or ask someone to request them. Or people that will just start a trip and end it after a few seconds and expect Bolt will count it like a fulfilled trip.

Sometimes if the person booking is far away booking for someone in that area and they didn't get the exact location of the person they are requesting for, just know bolt will not count that trip for u. So from experience I just cancel such trips if I know it will hinder my completion of the Bonus.

I always beat them to it, if it's 10 trips I need, I make sure I do 11trips, no how no how, they will not cancel 2 trips from my collection and deprive me d bonus. So if u feel that they are shortchanging u from getting d bonus, try and be smarter than them.

I would not want to say much or point out anything from your post, but I remember when people where also complaining about the bolt bonus I was thinking it's not true because I was steady chopping the bonus until I was served.
The requirement for that day was 8trips 6hrs online , I did 11trips and about 9hrs online how does that translate to lazyness?
Just do this thread a favour, to quote this post again if they ever serve u breakfast on this bonus thing.

At the bolded is true, but do u know that while I was about completing a trip, another request came in, I ignored hoping that it won't affect me, still on that trip another request came in, I declined.
That was what first dropped the completion rate to about 60%(am not precise about the%).
That was why I was building it.
And I was happy building up to 84% b4 they struck

I am legit sure of everything that happened that day, I didn't cancel any trip, I accepted & completed all trip when I was trying to build up the completion rate, i built it up to 84% and then I accepted the last trip and completed it, my completion rate reduced to 75%.
Pls don't further argue this truth.
I bought an iPhone 6s which I use only for this hustle, there is no simcard on that phone, I don't make calls or engage anything on that phone, just bolt & Tiktok alone.

It happened that 2 run girls I carry go one club for Ikoyi, changed destination to Chevron, as I was coming, I began to perceive the odour of a burnt rubber, asked these girls if they also perceive it, they said 'no', then I saw something like smoke because it was already to 11PM by then I was already on Awolowo road before that falomo roundabout.

Na so I parked and open door going towards my bonnet. Guess what I saw. Car was on fire around the headlight by the passenger side.

I wasn't aware that my attention was being called to the fire before I entered that Awolowo road because my windows were up.

immediately I saw the fire my mind just cut as no get fire extinguisher but I have 5 liter of water in my booth. Brought out the water and emptied it on the fire, by then I've quickly opened my bonnet. The fire no gree die even with the use of one of those small size extinguisher.


I thank God because one of the people telling me my car was on fire was a lady in security uniform and as she saw that we were trying to extinguish the fire, she quickly brought a bigger size of the fire extinguisher and quench the fire finally.

Imagine this had happened in a deserted area with no one to help. Person for rost inside car or loose the car to the fire.

Thank God 4 safety.
