Pearl1910: Yeah... If not for hybrid battery, Dynamo and AC wahala, d best car to use for ehailing is a Hybrid car like Prius, Muscle Hybrid or Civic Hybrid. Fuel is d biggest single most expensive expenditure in this business.
So people should target standard size vehicles with 1.4-2.0 litre engines. Although note that if your engine is small, then u shouldn't be competing with speed on the express with other cars. Plus ur maintenance should be without blemish if u want that engine to last. I do my services regularly, car is 18months now, never worked on the engine, and the engine is still very sound. My major challenge since I bought the car has been the AC system |

What do you guys gain in lying under this hot sun? Damn! There is no point saying he is lying. If u as a person can't do that, don't project it on others. I am telling u my car will do that amount and fuel go still remain, mind u my engine is a 1.6l engine. |

You even use an accord and you make that much with 12k fuel? I'm not even sure you can gross 85k with that. Haba!!! Definitely you will gross that in Lagos, with that amount of fuel. |

harzhan: Bosses, I hail o!
I am considering getting a car (skoda octavia 2010) to start this Uber/bolt/indriver biz and I have a few questions that I haven't found answers to after randomly going through the pages here. Questions are:
1. Shey the car good for this business? Won't make sense to spend the bulk of my money fixing it intermittently. Also, would the car qualify for their requirements?
2. I know the best is to do this business personally. However, what's the estimated weekly income if I get a partner?
3. What are the basic tips a newbie should take note of?
I don't mind if you just drop links to the answers. I am currently using a Skoda Octavia 2007 The car is super good and reliable. Just make sure the car is in a very good condition b4 u buy. Things u should look out 4 Good engine Good transmission First body Working AC Good legs and tyres U are good to go. |

fk001: Lol, it seems we have different visions and how we see life,
No disrespect but the way you quoted how your classmates dad's trained his children to university by doing taxi work, perhaps you are the type of person that will be contented with solving his basic and immediate needs without looking into the bigger picture. If that's the case then ehailing will give such contention.
But if you are the type that sees the bigger picture of freedom other than solving basic needs and "training children to University" then you need to look for an alternate source of income or plan B because ehailing won't pave that road to freedom. I actually don't want to comment on this issue again, but I like Ur view, to me you sound open and sincere. Now this is it, with the current reality on ground in Nigeria, inflation, poverty, lack of job for graduates bad roads, no power supply, and the rest. What other thing can a person do to atleast salvage his own situation?? People should name them?? How can you tell an hungry person to go and learn tech skills like coding, ui/ux, graphics design, video editing, web developer etc. When reality don set in already. Now the mix-up here is, nobody wants to drive for ever, I believe everyone has plans, and life is in stages. So if e-hailing is someone's heaven today, people should not talk down on it, don't make people feel it's a crime to drive. Wish I could do voice note here, would have expressed my self better. This things we call ordinary here, is what is raking in millions for people in saner country, like ordinary security (gateman), ordinary gardener, ordinary carpenter, ordinary bricklayer, ordinary barber, ordinary electrician etc, as baz001 will likely call them. If people don't do this ordinary things, how will a vip like u survive?? It's fine if u AV been emancipated like some people claim, leave others to survive till they are emancipated as well. Let me stop here. |

BAZ001: God will bless cornner44 for me, even though I want Mohammedson to deal with him on behalf of me and Dru…
Ehailing was used to pay bills, food to eat and car maintenance. If I get 100k job in Nigeria, I would have been driving bolt only on weekends and will never resign.
Google how much be flight ticket now and see if ordinary ehailing driver can afford it. People working in big coys will still sell property to relocate abroad. By d time u convert millions of Naira to dollars and aboki give you dollars you go hate Buhari the more.

BAZ001: You just like trouble why you dey mention Muhammadson2020, Twice in your post
You guys should stop discouraging & deceiving people please… People are making money in this business easily week in week out without stress, just ask for the strategies or join telegram group to know how to do it.
Kweku started with 1car, later 2, 3 & 5 cars and was adding to his fleets of cars every year till date. PearlGabrinchiii started with 1car now 3cars CheerfulGiver moved from matrix to 2016 Corolla without loan and got married in April… bolt money. Johnnybegood12 same telegram group moved to his own house this year… same bolt money. What of people that use bolt money to jappa ? Musa 1.0 moved from gateman to car owner under 1 year .
The list is endless bro
Baz001 my man You know I know Ur ways Not new to me, Weedsdom wan finish u Well so far so good, u don jaapaa Good for you, We wey still dey 9ja, hopefully our vote go count One more encouragement for whoever wants to get into this hustle, go ahead and do it. My story is enough motivation for anybody. It's over one year now, my car is still very sound and good. When I wanted to buy that manual car ehn, no be small thing 4 dis thread, but now nko? I don come I don see I don conquer. What are the chances that if I had invested the money I used to buy car in another business, (maybe buying and selling) that I would have made much more than my capital and still have the business running smoothly, considering the way inflation is rocking Nigeria economy. Anybody here that wants to buy a car solely for e-hailing should not kill their self to buy flashy and expensive cars. My advice, go ahead buy a car not more than 1m - 1.5m that has a sound engine good gear and neat interior, u are good to go, u would recoup capital quickly. PBUY |

donfortune48: My dear brother Viking07.
Are you really the one that typed this? Abi person borrow your phone from you?
I remember your early days here, when guys were advising people on finding alternatives as soon as possible and you were on the team that was praising Bolt and how profitable it is.
I remember when we tried to warn intending drivers to tread carefully, that the dashboard displays here doesn't correlate with the reality of the job, but you countered us and claimed we are rather discouraging people for no just course.
You claimed you're a part-time driver but you make over 300k per month. Yet you couldn't afford 200k to fix your car from bolt? That your main hustle have you bail you out?
Mehn!!!! Time is the only constant.
You people claimed that a devoted driver can comfortably save 250 to 300k per month. That's about 3.6m per year and 10.8m in 3years, yet you and most of them in your team including pearl1910 are the ones discouraging someone from taking a car on HP for 5m. I just dey observe una.
I'll say it again for those that need to hear. If you're a young graduate intending to enter this Uber business, please try and have an exit plan as soon as possible. One truth I can tell you is that the job can sustain you and help you raise some funds for any other plan you have. If you ever enter without a plan, believe me, you will get trapped and you may end up regretting like Muhammadson is currently doing.
People have been attacking him, but I totally understand his points and reasons for his outburst. Even though he's passing his message wrongly.
Again!!! Have an exit plan from the get go. Never depend on the hustle completely, otherwise, the little money you'll be making will distract you from any major career plan you had. And you may later come back here after 7yrs to attack people. Just as Muhammadson is current doing. Wish I could like this post more than a thousand times. I would not want to point out something's to avoid argument, but I would rather highlight the statements that got me liking the post. Truth be told, I will encourage anybody that wants to join this hustle to go ahead. It's good enough. Reason why most people complain is that their problems are bigger than e-hailing, and they want to just magically solve everything at once with the same e-hailing and start having more than enough in their account balance. Life doesn't work that way. You have to follow process. Some people live a very flashy and high social life that they can't comfortably maintain, thereby stressing their profits. So many factors affecting drivers. |
