I was at unizik today,on getting to the Admin building, there was a crowd of people. As i got closer,i noticed some were jubilant while others were sad because of the states they were posted.I saw one particular girl crying and was sitting dejectedly under the rain.I need no one to tell me that she must have been posted up north.A thought came to me,that i should snap her and post on nairaland, but on second thought,i decided not make fun of peoples' problem.I left Admin for a restaurant near Utility building, bought some snacks and was about joining a table, then i noticed that a guy there with his friends was very angry, and i left for another table,i overheard him lamenting and wailing that he was posted to Plateau. Some people who got favorable places and those who were able to influence their posting were happy while others were sad and afraid of the unknown.Their excitement and high spirit of serving their fathers' land were dampened in a flash. Finally,am suggesting that nysc should post people to their state of origin since it isnt a crime to serve your father's land in your father's backyard. Please,if you had similar experience, kindly share it for our brothers and sisters who may feel that they are all alone in their plight. |

I think the confusion here lies on ones' discipline or field of study. Those in arts may ignorantly say that diamonds shine, but any science student that knows the properties of light, should know that diamond only reflect light as it is not a source of light energy. |
30secs: Mr geologist, were you ever in Kogi to test rock and soil samples or did you just pull those stewpeed assumptions off your stinky arsssss? Are you trying to say even though kogi borders anambra the oil basin knew to stop exactly at the anambra side of the border??Cant you comprehend simple English? I never said that you cant find oil in kogi, infact i even wrote that there might be oil migration and seepages into kogi.,but kogi state claiming that the oil belongs to them is my problem.and i have a professional duty to disband all SPURIOUS notions and hypothesis before people start believing in them as truth.please if you have some data to counter my opinion, please do share them online for people to see and stop being childish and rude.thank you and remain blessed. |
kastonkastrol: do you even know "orient petroleum resources company"? Just tell me were the exploited the oil that is causing all the drama between you people and kogi state.. Do you have any idea were odeke is located in Nigeria? Was it not the same orient that said they wasted billions of naira to exploit the oil in kogi state and after all their hardwork, the people of kogi are claiming what they never worked for? And what silly seismic data are you talking about when odeke is located in kogi state?when did orient plc say so? I hate engaging in arguements with people on nairaland.but, take it or leave it,the truth is that anambra is the owner of those oil blocks..kogi state can try again later. |
kastonkastrol: dude STFU if you don't know what to say.. You can only feed illiterates with your lies here... The oil reserves are located in odeke area in kogi state.. The oil reserves belong to the ibaji people you chronic liar... Anambra people claimed the ownership of the oil reserves just because the company working on the fields there belong to anambra people.. I dislike liarsOga please, may i know your profession.if you must challenge me or call me a liar, please do so with facts and figures.do you have seismic data logs of those places you called...leave sentiments out of this, kogi as it stands right now doesnt have oil to exploited by oil companies at profit..nobody invests in areas where there are no profits,or maybe the technology to tap these hydrocarbons have not gotten to nigeria. |
Speaking from a professional point of view, geologically, kogi state has no oil. Before i proceed,i would like us to get familiar with terms such as source rock, reservoir rock, trap and hydrocarbon migration.crude oil is normally produced in shaley formations which serves as source rock, these newly formed crude then migrate to sandy units which are porous and permeable until the oil is sealed by a trap...with the above said,i must have to say that the above conditions are all within the anambra sedimentary basin..and not in kogi.,though some oil might have migrated or have become oil seepages in kogi, that alone doesnt guarantee you being the owner...it should be noted that the anambra basin and part of the lower benue trough are ideal or potential source of hydrocarbons, though the anambra basin isnt restricted to anambra state alone,it gave rise to the niger-delta basin.i know am sounding complex, but what am saying in essence is that there wont be any oil in niger delta if the anambra basin isnt in existence...quote me anywhere and i will defend that...kogi state government should just rest and stop fighting a lost course...well,i must say that the geology of southeastern nigeria is one of the most complex and most interesting as well. |
Goodmorning class,am the new class captain for now.,and you guys are all below me....hehehe Beware this piece of land is not for sale. No trespassing! I will buy more land if this hits frontpage. |

If there is anything babies are smart in doing,it is their ability to drop feaces at any given opportunity.it is disgusting. |
my little niche at my hometown, planning on erecting a mansion.... |
I went to my village for christmas and was amazed by the new structures being erected every second.it is like a competition.A reigning house could be overtaken any moment in terms of style and beauty...if i start posting the images, some would claim they were fake pics just to impress.but the truth is that these buildings are there in igboland, whether our western brothers like it or not,and nothing will change by their denial of facts...most miserable villages in the southeast would be boastfully called towns and cities in yoruba lands...as for light issue,my hometown Umuleri,Anambra state have electric power supply during my stay.we had our youth carnival which was very colourful...below are some pics.,just average structure shaa... |
