In a few weeks on December 3, NBC will be airing The Wiz Live, it’s special holiday event this year that will bring the iconic, Wizard of Oz to life on TV.

The show stars Nigerian/American award winning actress Uzo Aduba, Queen Latifah, Common, Neyo and more and producers have just released some promo photos of the stars in character.

This movie has Uzo as Glinda, Queen Latifah as The Wiz, and Common as Bouncer, the Emerald City gatekeeper.

The Delta State Police Command, Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, have arrested some suspected child traffickers. The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Alkali Baba Usman, said SARS rescued five children suspected to have been sold by members of the group who operate within Delta, Anambra, Cross River, Akwa-Ibom and Rivers state, Punch reports.

According to Usman, “When we heard about the inter-state human and child trafficking syndicate cell in Asaba, SARS operatives arrested the gang leader of the group.

“The suspect and her husband confessed to the crime and led the officers to their different hideouts in Anambra, Akwa-Ibom and Cross Rivers state,” Usman added.

One of the suspects, identified as Okon Patience said, “Since their mothers cannot take care of their babies because of lack of money, we normally arrange for wealthy parents who have no children but in need of children, to come and buy from us and take them away.

Unidentified soldiers have beat up Aba correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria, Ijendu Iheaka, over right of way. Trouble started for Iheaka who was on his way to an assignment at Umuode area of the city when he came face to face with a group of soldiers in a patrol van, marked Army 014, at a muddy portion of the road, close to Winners Church, along the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway.

A man that was allegedly brutalised and shot on the leg by some soldiers in Benin, the Edo State capital, has raised alarm over what he called the inhuman treatment meted out to him.



But the Nigerian Army has insisted that the man, Mr. Daniel Owie, is an armed robber, who attempted to snatch the soldiers’ vehicle. The soldiers, who were reportedly led by an Army Captain, actually brutalised Owie before shooting him on the leg.

According to TheSun, in a petition to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, the victim appealed to him to investigate the alleged murder a
ttempt on his life and the breach of his fundamental human rights by
a group of soldiers led by a yet to be identified captain in Benin.

Inhabitants of a sleepy rural Awaka community in Owerri North Local Government area of Imo State, have been left in fear following the shocking discovery of corpses of two children inside an abandoned car.

The mysterious disappearance of the two children, as well as the shocking discovery of their bodies in the vehicle, attracted scores of sympathizers to the compound, It was not very clear how the two youngsters were eventually found in the parked vehicle, but Vanguard, however, gathered that the two children had previously been declared missing by their parents.A villager, who spoke on strict grounds of anonymity, recalled that “when the tarpaulin used in covering the vehicle was removed, the bodies of the two children were found.”

The man equally recalled that the vehicle had been parked on that spot for a long while, adding that the vehicle owner lives outside the shores of Nigeria.

Kim Kardashian has made no secret of the fact that she hasn't enjoyed being pregnant, but the reality star hinted in the promo for Season 11 of Keeping Up With the Kardashians on Sunday, Oct. 11, that she could be diagnosed with diabetes as she carries her second child.

The 34-year-old, who is expecting a son in December with husband Kanye West, 38, suffered from potentially deadly preeclampsia when she was pregnant with daughter North West in 2013, and on a
routine doctor's checkup, she learned that she could be in even more trouble this time around.

"Once you have preeclampsia, you are at risk for having it again," Kardashian's doctor warned her in a scene from the upcoming season of the reality show.Then Kardashian told her mother, Kris Jenner, and big sister, Kourtney Kardashian, "They saw more fluid than usual in my placenta, which can mean I have diabetes."

A 13-year-old primary school pupil has been confirmed dead, while 20 others are battling for life in different hospitals in Enugu-Ezike in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, after eating at a traditional marriage ceremony last weekend.

Trouble started after the traditional marriage of Obiageli (surname witheld) when her in-laws departed to their hometown, Nrobo in Nsukka Council area. About 30 people, who ate the soup prepared for the entertainment of guests, were said to have started complaining of serious stomach upset.


Things got worse around 3 am, when many guests began stooling and vomiting blood, causing pandemonium among the villagers.
The girl, who was at the wedding, reportedly gave up the ghost before medical assistance could be sought, while others were rushed to different hospitals in Aji and Ogrute communities.

The Cross River State command of the Nigeria Police on Tuesday raided Peace Garden Hotel popularly called `Flower Mills Joint’ and arrested 54 prostitutes and 56 men who had gone to patronise them,

The operation was led by the Cross River State Security Adviser, Mr. Jude Ngaji.

Addressing journalists after the raid which lasted for about four hours, Ngaji said the hotel had been turned into a brothel for commercial sex workers in Calabar.He added that the brothel had been used for criminal activities, selling of drugs and a hideout for criminals in the area.

According to him, the office of the State Security Adviser, in collaboration with security agents in the state, is working to ensure that criminals and prostitutes are shown the way out of the state.

Sitting and being sedentary were both associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, according to My new research.

The study published found that people who sat for 10 or more hours per day increased their risk for the disease by nine percent.

A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to four months in jail for breaking an Anti Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) by repeatedly making non-emergency calls to 999 and pretending to be Nicki Minaj.
Stephen Brown, of Crumlin, Northern Ireland, was branded a “nuisance” by the judge at Antrim County Court, and was told his actions could lead to those who needed help from the emergency services not receiving it.

His defence lawyer, Aaron Thompson, described Mr Brown as a chronic alcoholic and “his own worst enemy” during the hearing.
He was however sentenced to four months in prison after his lawyer appealed the eight months sentence.
