The police in Lagos have arrested a man, Waheed Adeboye, for allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter, Aminat (pseudonym), in the Adamo, Ikorodu area.

We learnt that the day after Aminat was allegedly raped by her father, the teenager, who is a Senior Secondary School one pupil, fled from home and later found succour with a middle-aged woman in a nearby church.

Our correspondent gathered that 49-year-old Waheed, who worked as a plank seller in Ikorodu, lost his first wife, who was also Aminat’s mother, to an illness in 2007.

Thugs suspected to be APC loyalists in Nasarawa State on Friday beat correspondent in the state, Mr. Hir Joseph to a state of coma during Governor TankoAl-Makura’s inauguration in Lafia, the state capital.
It was learnt that the thugs were angry over an analysis the reporter made on President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Al-Makura recently.
They also said that the thugs also accused Joseph of writing unwanted reports in the state.

The incident occurred at 11.30 am, shortly after the governor and his deputy, Mr. Salias Agara, took their oaths of office at the Lafia parade ground.
The correspondent who was at the scene of the event noted that security operatives were able to rescue Joseph after throwing teargas canisters at the miscreants and chasing them away.
