The rapper, Jesse Jagz, is one of the finest rappers in the Nigerian hip hop music world. He is one of our rappers that love to do his thing and he sometimes gets misunderstood.

After walking out of Chocolate City to start his label, Jagz Nation, many thought something was amiss. This year, the rapper walked his way back to the label not after winning the Rap Album at the HEADIES 2014.

In a chat with the media at the Chocolate City office, Jesse who is MI- Jude Abaga’s younger brother, stunned all when he stated that he has not been to a church in eight years.

The son of a clergy went on to clarify himself that he has no problem with church or places of worship but that religion is a thing of the mind and that one can connect to God alone.

Members of the House of Representatives yesterday summoned Finance Ministry, Budget Office, Fiscal Responsibility Commission, National Planning Commission, Debt Management Office and Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission to explain why the 2015 Appropriation Act is not being implemented.

Also, the ad-hoc committee set up by the 8th House of Assembly will today commence a public hearing over non-implementation of 2015 Budget. It was reliably gathered that officials of other agencies related to finance may also be summoned to appear before the ad-hoc committee headed by Rep. Ahmed Pategi, Kwara APC, at the public hearing.

A female suicide bomber has killed herself and seven others at the Damaturu Motor Park. Many others were severely wounded by the blast which shook the vicinity.

The bomber, who disguised as a passenger, and was veiled, detonated the bomb at 9:45am when security men manning the park had not commenced checking.

Witnesses said the bomber was clutching a luggage pretending to be a passenger and gained easy access to the unmanned park. This explosion is one of the many that have rocked the motor park in the recent past.

The family of a deceased woman, Anajekwulum Obiageli, is currently owing over N170,000 in mortuary expenses after the police in Lagos State refused to move the corpse for an autopsy seven months after her death. 38-year-old Obiageli, who hailed from the Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, died on January 21, 2015.

She reportedly died after her husband, identified only as Ikechukwu, allegedly brutalised her during an altercation on Okoye Close, Iba Housing Estate, in the Iyana Oba area. Our correspondent gathered that the matter was reported at the Ojo Police Division, and Ikechukwu was arrested.

After the suspect’s arrest, the case was said to have been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, from where it was taken to a magistrate’s court.

A mob in Calabar, Cross River State capital, yesterday, butchered a young man and set the remains on fire beside Atu Secondary School fence along Goldie Street, for allegedly robbing a woman of a pot of soup. His two accomplices escaped.

The hoodlum, in the company of two others, were alleged to have attacked the woman at Mayne Avenue Extension in Calabar South.

They were allegedly attracted by the aroma of the soup the woman was warming for her family’s breakfast before heading for early morning mass at nearby St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.

A young man, who lives in the same premises with the lady, said as the robbers were about to get out of the compound with the pot of soup, the woman raised the alarm, prompting neighbours to go after them. They caught up with the one carrying the pot of soup and dealt him several machete cuts before setting him ablaze.

For just 1, 000 admission spaces as recommended by the National Universities Commission (NUC), no fewer than 6, 000 candidates have applied to sit for the post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (post-UTME) test of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, (FUOYE), in Ekiti State, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Asuzu has said.

Asuzu, who spoke to journalists at Oye Ekiti, on Tuesday, also disclosed that two students of the institution had been expelled for engaging in examination malpractices.

Although he would not disclose the identities of the expelled students, he said they were caught cheating during examination in the 2013/2014 academic session.

A male NYSC member serving in Gboko LGA has been arrested after he allegedly waylay-ed a woman at GRA On 13th August, 2015 at about 07:00pm and dispossessed her of her car, Mobile phones and monies. The suspect was on full NYSC uniform at the time of the robbery,

The robbed woman called Police and reported that she was intercepted by a lone-gun man at the gate to her house as she was about driving in. That the said gun man forcefully snatched her Honda Accord (EOD, reg no. withheld), huge sum of money and two mobile phones.

All Police units were alerted, one of the Safer Highway Patrol teams also mobilized to go after the hoodlum and they intercepted the car at Akpagher village and one Babatunde Asemoyebun 'm' a Corper attached to Gboko LGA was found to be driving the vehicle and was promptly arrested.

In Anambra State Somewhere in the community of Azia in Ihiala Local Government Area, the people were in mournful mood yesterday as the nine bodies of the family of Charles Obidigwe, who died of burns sustained from cooking gas explosion in Lagos last month, were buried.

Mrs. Obidigwe, wife of Charles, was said to be preparing lunch for the family when the gas cylinder exploded and caught fire that engulfed the entire flat.

When men of Lagos State Fire Service arrived, the harm had been done.

The head of the family, Charles Obidigwe, 51, died instantly. But the other eight members of his family, including his sister-in-law and her son, who were staying with them, died later in a Lagos hospital.

Until his death, late Obidigwe operated a medicine store in Lagos.

This is what is happening, Weeks after the release of Sebee remix, which had my 2 favorites, Oritsefemi and Olamide, there appears to be some quiet discomfort in the camps of Olamide and Oritsefemi over their recent collaboration with fast-rising, Sossi.


So my source tells me, Sossi who is signed to Bugatti records label featured Oritsefemi and Olamide in the remix of his popular single,Sebee. It was learnt that problem started weeks after Sossi dropped the remix.

(NAN) The Police Command in Abia, has arrested on Ifeanyi Nwunni, an auto mechanic in Umuahia, for allegedly kidnapping a taxi-cab driver at gunpoint.

The command spokesman, DSP Ezekiel Onyeke, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Umuahia on Monday that Nwunni, was arrested following a tipoff from a good Nigerian.

He said that the suspect was carrying his victim, one Ifeanyi John, in the booth of his car before he was arrested last Wednesday at Onuimo, the boundary between Abia and Imo. Onyeke said that the suspect, who hails from Obowo Local Government Area of Imo, was arrested along with another man, who is now at large.
