Chiamaka01: @leitner, i think the fees are appropriate, not because i can afford it, but because, i think, that the quality of education offered is worth the fee.

I do not opine contrary to innovation. But lets get some realities.
The money that was given to ASUU after the long latest strike action was for development of the academic sector of universities- procurement of lab equipments, construction of infrastructures, boosting lecturers, etc., -of which OAU recieved her share. The share that should increase the quality of education in OAU.
As a federal school, lecturers, instructors and technicians in OAU are being paid by federal govt and neither by management nor state govt.
However, for the management of OAU (which is the NASU of the university) to increase fees implies deductively that the extra percentage will not go into academics( teaching and learning); though they said the increament is to improve the quality of education.
So the quality of education obtainable in any school largely depends on the kind of tutors, instructors, lectures and technicians (Academic Staff) and not strictly on the management (Non Academic Staff) the school has.
