Mine was done in April 2021 and as at May 22 it has expired. Well I don't know but looking at the timeline the medical should still be active but I remember someone mention it at Qlife when I visited the last time that medical now expire 6months, I don't know how valid that information is, be it as it may, the person should book for medical immediately.

Applied for VV on Nov. 23rd, 2021, and it was rejected on Dec 7th, 2021. Beginning of my depression
Applied for another VV on Feb 20th, 2022 and it was rejected 24th April 2022. Depression got deeper and I stopped going to the Lab (working from home but with low productivity). Finished my winter semester and my graduate coordinator, advisors and everyone around me felt so sad for me and I also felt sad for myself. At this point, I was already like I'm leaving Canada and I literarily got no positive view of Canada.
I went to my MPs office and they are literarily doing nothing and just saying I need to wait till the processing time elapse.
Eligibility Started June 14th. Then I started to fire email, and webform everyday.
Yesterday I sent an email to all of the offices from my own email telling them how depressing I am. Here I attached my transcript enrolment letter, updated finance, and landed document to Abuja, Lagos, London, and Nairobi.
I couldn't sleep overnight so one of my good brothers here that I pray that Allah grant his wife the PPR (today Bihitnillah) called me and we spoke and pray that we hear from IRCC soon. After some minutes I received an email from Abuja that I need to send a webform and I immediately responded to their email by saying I have done that 1000000 times. Well, after like 1 hr I stood up to see what webform they even asked me to send. As I sat on my chair like this I just saw the Golden email from on my wife's email (I have access to my wife's email) and it was at that time that I went on sujud (prostration) to Glory the Lord that created the earth and peg it with the rocks.
BVL and PPR June 23rd 2021.

Well well. I’m a lowkey observer here.

I got my bvl/ppr (SOWP) today. I’m grateful to the almighty for his mercies. After trials and errors, multiple denials and delays, finally God came through. I applied since October 2021, got my medicals passed this Monday, and today I got my good news.

I’m talking to you reading this….don’t give up, pray and chill….God did not forget you, your blessings are inevitable. Can’t wait to see the beautiful city and meet my beautiful wife. God bless everyone.

I give God all the glory for this blessing.
I got my study permit in August 2021 for the Fall 2021 session and I came into Canada with my second daughter in October 2021. My first daughter has been in Canada since 2017 studying, so we came to join her, while I also started my own program.
My husband applied for his open work permit and the wait began....we never knew it would would be delayed this long. I was so hopeful that he would get his permit by December 2021 so we would all have a white Christmas. December came, nothing happened...came to the SOWP thread on nairaland and saw that people had been waiting for months...as far back as January 2021. This wasn't encouraging at all.
We kept sending webforms and emails. I would send webforms on my husband's behalf, I also asked him to keep sending from his side. Gave him all the email addresses and the webform links I used during my study permit application (got them from the student visa thread).
Meanwhile, my daughter's graduation was drawing near, June 14, 2022 precisely, so we decided to use that as an opportunity for IRCC to speed up my husband's application so he could attend our daughter's graduation.
I asked my daughter to send a mail to the MP of the city where she resides while I also did to the MP of my own city. Her own MP responded, gave us the status of the application and said the application was in progress but might not be ready by her graduation. I got automated response from mine directing me to IRCC website. He hasn't really never been helpful, even when I contacted him during my study permit application.
With the news from my daughter's MP, we were hopeful but not certain if anything would happen before graduation because he mentioned it in his response. But we kept sending mails to IRCC.
About 1 week to our daughter's graduation, I changed the subject of the email to "URGENT PLEASE! MY DAUGHTER'S GRADUATION IS ONE WEEK AWAY!".....nothing about application update or enquiry...LOL, because I thought maybe they weren't even reading all the emails we had been sending, that once they see the subject, they just assume it's the usual enquiry email and they don't bother to read it....my thoughts though.
Graduation came and went, no show. Then 4 days after graduation, he got the 2 emails from IRCC.
Even though this came in much after our daughter's graduation, I am grateful to God for it has ended well to the glory of God.

I pray that everyone still waiting will receive their good news soon in Jesus name.

Depending on where you are. I think it's easier to get a closer date at IOM Abuja.

On the medical thing my best advice for you is to book flight jeje and go to iom abuja u will get it done fast and easy nah money u go just spend. I had someone that went from benin to lagos on monday and Qlife didnt oblige her a date within june which is the stilpulated 1month before she was able to get 28th of june at IOM lagos yesterday she had to be crying ooo. Please check for iom in abuja book and go

All IMM forms completed as usual. Also included are my study permit, Visa page, proof of enrollment, school fees receipt, student ID card, invitation letter, SOP, land documents with estimated forced sale value, Bank statement from my account here in Canada showing about $10k CAD, mybankstatement certificate of spouse account showing about N1.6m (turnover of above N10m) with the CAD equivalent stated, Proof of relationship with wedding pictures and marriage certificate, ID cards of wife's parents and siblings to substantiate claims of home ties, CAC documents showing myself, wife and son listed as directors and shareholders of a limited liability company, wife in her business premises, etc

The only new thing I did recently was my current transcript showing my result for winter term 2022 that I sent through webform and emails. First, they rejected adding the transcript claiming that the email is associated with more than one applicant and so they can't attach it to the application. I raised another webform and also sent emails explaining that I used same email address for my child's visitor's Visa application since he is a minor and that explains why the email is associated with more than one application. I believe that resolved it and they accepted the document.

Now, I'm praying and hoping that my son's visitor's Visa is approved soon so that we can send the 2 passports together for stamping.

Its appears they have shifted focus now towards SOWP and the processing times will gradually reduce.

I pray this good news will get to everyone here that have a pending application. There seem to be no hard and fast rule as to how IRCC processes applications.

In all, I return all the praise and glory to God who made this possible. Truly, there is nothing the Lord cannot do. Na God get power pass.

Congratulations send the passport again for the SOWP, and he should travel with that instead of the visit. I have heard of someone here who got two on the same passport.

I’m Foreigner and my spouse is Nigerian. His VV PPR finally arrived.

He applied for OWP in May 2021 no update,

He then applied for a Visitors Visa in December 2021 which was processed in Manila, Philippines but was rejected, VO stated on his GCMS note that he had no reason to visit me and our infant child. It was heartbreaking, and triggered more of my anxiety and depression.

In April 2022 I got my study permit extension for a second program and visitor’s record for my baby.

We did several research and assistance from other Nairalander Thanks to @Technix and @lianna2020.

Due to his past refusal we decided his application should be done in his country of citizenship Nigeria and not his country of residence.

He decided to reapply for a visitor's visa on May 14th 2022 and got PPR May 26th today. 12days dang!

He checked his OWP application and Eligibility review has started wow.

Over 372 days wow, finally I can smile and I believe and hope his OWP gets approved soon.

Big Big shout out to @justmellow, @gcmswriters. I really appreciate your service. They’re very professional and dang! they interpreted exactly what I was going through. For me I wrote my invitation letter myself. I really needed to express my frustration, depression and pain being alone with a 10 month old, how my marriage is threatened, my health is threatened, my spouse being a Nigerian has to prove himself worthy all the time and having different traditions and culture. I attached chats and conversations.

PPR after visa rejection from US, Australia and Schengen. It's a pattern when he applies for visas from outside Nigeria. This time he used his houses, investments and family in Nigeria as ties to his application.

Due to the limited upload size for documents on his visitors visa application he sent more documents via Webform to address his reapplication.

I just want to say thank you to Nairalanders and the community. I don’t wish this delay on anyone. I hope his OWP gets approved as soon as possible.

Guys please ooo i am in a serious dilemma i applied for a SOWP for my spouse alongside VV for my two kids on the old portal since july last year. The application will be 45 weeks this week. Now becos of the long wait I applied for VV for my spouse and two kids on the new portal in march 2022. Now i just logged in to the old portal tonight and saw that my two sons visit visa has been withdrawn since may 2nd 2022 ( like they just wrote application withdrawn final decision) for the two kids and my spouse application for sowp is till there active. No eligibility review just background check in progress. The kids VV and that of my spouse on the new portal is still active too. There was no mail to inform of the withdrawal. Please what can i do. In my experience i have seen this.
Should I mail IRCC?
Please i need quick response my people. My head get lots of thinking of what happened and whats the way forward.

Thank you Otunba for your contributions. I don't seem encourage with this SOWP visa system. We contacted mp and was told eligibility has not started and medical was not requested. I think overall Nigerians are not well attended to in this class. It's deliberate.

All things been equal they have wasted time already, I mean 54weeks, I think Carlone too applied since March 2021.....haba... Anything they want let them do on the application, whenever they are ready for anything on the application, i am available.

At this point, I am not in a haste any more.

I logged into my application now and saw application profile update only to check and discover on the medical status that "I do not need a medical test" but it was previously updated to pass since June 25th 2021, now no medical update on the application. What could have happened please?

I submitted application for SOWP for myself and study for my 2 kids on January 25.

May 5th my SOWP was approved but nothing for the children. On my application it shows background check and eligibility as on going and the final decision is your application is approved. They have also sent the letter that i should send my passport for the visa.

Please what can i do to make the children's application be released on time.
We have all done our medicals.

If it was a sowp visa that was approved, I thought that doesn't require much demonstration of ties unlike the visit visa.

With Sowp, it's understood that you are going to meet your spouse irrespective of whatever he or she is doing in Canada, also it is a kind of work permit.

Seriously, it has hard to demonstrate family ties because my husband’s both parents are late and he is an only child, therefore, I was his only direct family. I guess that was why the visit visa was denied twice. We eventually relied on my own family to demonstrate connection to Nigeria.

-Travelled to Dubai on 4th of April 2022 for vacation (my wife came from Canada to meet me there in Dubai) and I returned to Nigeria on 22nd of April and on 1st of May I sent my new travel record via email to kenya, London and lagos IRCC offices with pictures with my wife.I also submitted it as webform. approval was received today may 5th. Pure miracle

God will help us in this struggle, however I will suggest you try to pretend as if this application is not in existence trusting God it will come out good someday, you can get a job or something or some businesses, I know that they all have to do with planning altogether, I have learnt to wait for the best and while waiting focus on something visible and present to buld my profile like engage in short courses, apply for a program in another country or some sort.

Abeg this sowp no be for fainthearted but God will comfort us

Yes sir i applied to accompany Study permit. Like when filling SP and asked is there anyone you will like to accompany you to Canada, the answer is Yes, the next form that pops up , I filled it. Thus it was joint application, spouse secured SP and have gone but we didn't hear of any update on my sowp

Thanks but I didn’t see any reply. I got this reply after raising webform but the issue here is that I don’t know if I should go ahead send the documents or it’s just a normal response to webform so I should ignore and wait for senior officer to review my file
