Faiththatworks:
I have always wanted to make a suggestion to the Nigerian govt,I think there are some govt officials who visit Nairaland to read the opinions of Nigerians.
Please whoever has access to Gen Buhari should tell him it's time to permanently fix the issue of darkness in Nigeria.
My suggestion is very simple, Nigerians should be allowed to vote Yes or No for government to access 3 Billion Dollars from the foreign reserve to fix this issue of inadequate power supply.
If the citizens agree to allow govt access the money, Government should form a company that allows all Nigerian to have a share in the company.
The 3 Billion Dollars should be deployed to fixing the entire power chain, especially production.
If we can employ more than 100000 people to fabricate the iron pipes we need to move move the gas to all the moribund power plants, secure the pipeline right of way, build new transmission lines, send some some yoiths to mambilla to work there, and even start companies to mass produce prepaid meters,I'm sure Nigeria will be out of this mess called power shortage in a short while.
Part of the condition of removing the money is that Nigerians must have an open agreement on the pricing of the electricity.
Finally laws will be made to imprison anyone who makes any attempt to steal the money, and also another law to put a date on the ban of the importation of generators.
If Government can borrow 2.5 billion to build rails,I'm sure accesssing 3 Billion to repair the entire power sector isn't too much.
God bless Nigeria
your suggestion is a good one but someone in this country that he spend 12 billion dollars on power. And you are here talking about 3 billion. Please rest

LOCAL GOVERNMENT POLITICS OF NIGERIA.

PLEASE LET GET YOUR VIEWS ON THE LACAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL THAT CARRY OUT THEIR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN YOUR AREA.

Local government is responsible for a range of vital services for people and businesses in defined areas. Among them are well known functions such as social care, schools, housing and planning and waste collection, but also lesser known ones such as licensing, business support, registrar services and pest control.

In England, more than one million people work in local government across a range of different types of authorities, providing more than 800 different services to local communities.

Local councils, which is the most common type of local authority, are made up of councillors who are elected by the public in local elections.

Councillors work with local people and partners, such as local businesses and other organisations, to agree and deliver on local priorities. The decisions are implemented by permanent council staff, council officers, who deliver services on a daily basis.

In my own local government which is obio/akpor local government area of river state I dont think we have a local government chairman talk more of carry out his social responsibility.

I am ashamed to my self to be a river state son. River state Governor nyesom wike will use three days to commission one particular road, and tag them different name just to gain peoples attention. He cant foul people for ever. He is doing all this So that people from other statesvwill think he have done one big thing for rivers people all are lies and means to gain political attention. GRA FLYOVER, TOMBIA EXTENSION ROAD AND EZIMGBU LINK ROAD (MUMMY B ROAD), All are in one location. That should have been commissioned one day and save rivers tax payers money. This is same thing Peter odili did during his time as governor of river state. That made OBJ call him ole. Peter. Ole

Why is governor nyesom wike of rivers state wasting rivers tax payer money in commissiong of all this monkey bridges called flyover, you don't construct a flyover and still have traffic warders to contro trafficl under it. In as much I am concerned river state have only two flyovers constructed by the former governor rotimi ameachi

Namely. Oil mill junction flyover, obiri ikwerre junction flyover

That is a standard in civil design. If gives room for what is called thermal growth over time. So there is no cause of an alarm. thermal expansion, the general increase in the volume of a material as its temperature is increased. It is usually expressed as a fractional change in length or volume per unit temperature change; a linear expansion coefficient is usually employed in describing the expansion of a solid,
