Governors Adeleke and Makinde married outside the South West states, and that's never been an issue. We also have people from outside the South West working and holding political posts in the region. However, it's unrealistic to expect Yorubas to vote for someone who disregards the people he wants to govern. This lack of connection with constituents is a recipe for disaster, and it's unlikely to succeed anywhere in the world.

After the creation of Abuja, Lagos was retained as the commercial capital, with all its due rights and privileges accorded.
