You haven't answered my question!
Kazikazi:
Which year are u having your first railway tunnel? TZ had them since in the 70's. We aren't amazed at tunnels. We are focusing on speed not a mere tunnel! Pillars and tunnels are too common to us.Tazara railway in TZ has about 23 tunnels.

Our railway network is the longest in east africa
Foreign AffairsRe: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Jonraid(m): 7:00am On Jan 30, 2019
How many kilometres are those tunnels? Ours is the second longest in Africa you muppet!
Kazikazi:
What is a railway tunnel?? In Tanzania we had them a lot since in the 70's when we constructed Tazara railway. Nothing new!

What makes you think that we can't trade with any nation in the SADC or any nation in Africa for that matter? The European Union and Uganda are our main trade partners. It speaks volumes if Equity Bank DRC,Uganda and Rwanda can make more profits than Equity Tz.We are going to follow where the money is. We are one of Africa's biggest investors in the continent. The trade billions between Kenya and Tz are a drop in the ocean if you look for instance how much we make from the EU or the rest of Africa!
Kazikazi:
You will never try building a border wall.never.You need us more than we need you.And you have no cash.

If you never knew, this is a full blown trade war.You started it,now find a way of handling this fireball from TZ.Remember, TZ has SADC.We have big boys to do business with.SADC has no starving people like those Kenyans. We have a lot of advanced economies in SADC.We exports more to SADC than in EAC.We made a huge trade surplus last year. Here in SADC there is no hypocrisy. They respect us much much more than those loud mouths of EAC.

Next time you start something, know how to end it.Mourning to international medias won't help.

Yeah,I heard of that too.Their were also concerns that giving the aerial mineral mapping tender to a foreign entity would not go in the interest of this nation.Anyway,we are in crossroads on how we can best do the mineral survey!
kikuyu1:
FYI, the Brits mapped EVERYTHING during their time but don't think they're about to share that knowledge! That's not what Johnnie Brit is about.
Foreign AffairsRe: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Jonraid(m): 7:04pm On Jan 29, 2019
Yeah, this line would go on consolidating the power they get from the main grid.Devolution has really benefited such areas. As for the minerals, the entire Kenya is still unmasked.I just don't know what happened to the aerial mapping of the mineral potential areas of Kenya.
rvp20182:
Yes but Garissa is now connected to the main grid. This power could easily end in Nairobi.Garissa is starting to kick arse...they have lots of gypsium and limestone that cement companies are shipping.I think Garissa could provide template for Somali counties. They just need to keep the crazy Alshabaab at Bay.
Foreign AffairsRe: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Jonraid(m):
Impressive! It's costly evacuating power from the main grid to the remote parts of the country especially the ASALS(Arid and Semi Arid Lands) regions.
The solution is to build off grid solar power plants to deliver power directly to key ASALS towns such as Garissa!

It's sad when buildings have to go down but laws must be followed, the demolition of Weston Hotel should be the grand litmus test!
kikuyu1:
This afternoon I was in the area. In Kenya of today there are consequences as I told my nephew who was wondering why.
Foreign AffairsRe: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Jonraid(m): 5:24pm On Jan 29, 2019
It's called zoning I repeat.Failure to adhere to the zoning laws can get you into trouble. The Grand Manor hotel had to be demolished because it went above two floors in an area where buildings aren't supposed to go past that! Nairobi is a UN hub for a reason.
samsobo24:
see little Indian fool calling me Muppet.

Do you reason with your nose, you ugly looking little - indian kid

Are you trying to lecture me about Environmental issues.

Besides which Nigerian pays attention to Nairobi; D

Why are you running away from the truth,Nairobi isn't a business city. Its quite obvious when you see drone.
A real geographer won't find it so hard to see Nairobi's development by landmass

You lack the mental and intellectual ego to engage me in arguments.

Lagos shows you what they call a real developed city

I sometimes wonder why we Nigerians belittle Africa's largest city to rub shoulders with one so called tourist city

The truth ravages your system

Very low numbers!

Nigeria’s internet users hit 111.6m in December — NCC
Internet users in Nigeria increased marginally to more than 111.6 million in December 2018, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has said.
The NCC made this known on Monday in its Monthly Internet Subscribers Data for December posted on its website.

The data showed that overall internet users increased to 111,632,516 in December 2018 from the 108,457,051 recorded in November 2018, showing an increase of 3,175,465 new subscribers.

According to the data, Airtel, MTN and Globacom gained more internet subscribers during the month under review, while 9mobile was the big loser.
The breakdown revealed that MTN gained the more with 2,221,153 new internet users in December 2018, increasing its subscription to 43,899,957 as against 41,678,804 in November 2018.

It further showed that Airtel was second, gaining 799,538 new users in the month under review, increasing its subscription to 29,757,791 in December 2018 as against 28,958,253 in November 2018.

One of the concerns of the passing of the SGR through the Nairobi National Park was the noise pollution that the railway will bring. This was one of the questions brought by environmentalists, park administrators and all alike.

This problem has been mitigated by installing a sound absorbent material that would wall the bridge suspended tracks so as to minimize noise pollution that would otherwise have a dire impact on the park's animals behaviour!

Technology always has a way of answering our most pressing needs in situations like this!

The last picture shows track laying on one of the tunnels!

Any country can fund terrorism in the region to spread it's geopolitical agenda in the horn of Africa region.Somalia is not feasible.Kenya should low-key fight for Jubaland to be a country on it's own.We need a strong buffer on our East.
rvp2018:
There is barely anything Saudi here in Kenya. I think there is private activity from Dubai & Qatar. I don't think Saudis & the arabs are "intelligent" enough to do anything serious.

I think Turkey would be a welcome partner & threat. I think turkey are slowly spreading their tentacles in Africa.

I see the Saudis interest in Ethiopia screaming EGYPT.

IT'S A TROJAN HORSE. THEY WANT TO STOP DAMMING OF NILE.

so what better way than to shackle Ethiopia.

kenya need to welcome the turkish - and we are not doing that.

The most common newspaper should be The Standard followed by The Daily Nation!

We have a good newspaper reading culture!
ednited:
You guys read newspaper a lot. I am not sure but 'Kenya daily' is the biggest media (newspaper) you rely on to get information. That is a good thing to excercise.

We are not a true democracy but we are better than most African countries in that front. The press freedom here is immense,be free to insult the president if you wish.As for the airline,it's a normal thing coming together and see how you can improve each other.Kenya airways is keen on partnering any airline in joint ventures for a win win partnership for all parties!
ednited:
1. When will the election in Kenya take place?
I haven't heard a Kenyan opposing Uhuru Kenyatta that much but you think that man is doing great??
Are you guys sure that there is democracy in your country. I do know there is a big press freedom but still. . .

Be free to say what you feel because in this thread it's like 'If I tell the truth, they will make fun of my country'

And plus, I heard South Africa, Kenya and one other African country is uniting on the Airline industry. Is it true??

Someone said,''Show me a country with no multinationals and I'll show you a poor country"

In as much as we call out our companies and individuals to invest more in home, they also need to invest elsewhere in the continent so as to diversify their income locations thereby consolidating them financially.

This is not only key to them financially speaking but also key to our geopolitics.I love how Equity made forays into the Congo! We need to see more of that!
rvp2018:
On contrary Kenya is Africa Main SOURCE OF FDIs competing with South Africa.

https://www.nation.co.ke/business/Kenya-overtakes-SA-as-biggest-investor-in-African-countries/996-3320992-y8eciaz/index.html

For example:
Kenya overtook South Africa to become the biggest investor in other African countries in terms of the number of projects in 2015.

Kenya invested in 36 projects last year in other parts of the continent against South Africa’s 33, a new study by financial consulting firm Ernst & Young shows.

It's called respect.Nigerians sent envoys to Nairobi from Buhari's office to show their support. We should do the same to them I guess!

Look at the EU and HOW THEY RESPONDED to the Kenya attack!

EU block is the biggest source of Kenya’s foreign tourists and investments.

First Counselor in the EU delegation to Kenya Walter Tretton Monday said Kenyan security agencies’ rapid response to last week’s attack had proved their capabilities to handle the militants.

The handling of the siege, Mr Tretton said, should offer EU nationals an assurance of safety when visiting the country.

Widespread praise

Security agencies responding to the terror attack received widespread praise for their efforts that led to the rescue of rescue of more than 700 people.

https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/news/EU-tells-tourists-Nairobi-is-safe-despite-terror-attack/539546-4945600-jnk3kf/index.html

Kur17:
I've always wondered why the world is not taking some countries like Nigeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe etc seriously. The same week Kenya had a terrorist attack, hundreds of Nigerians/soldiers were killed but we only heard of it thru social media... Is it that a Nigerian life doesn't have value or what...
