My point exactly! We are now looking on Thailand to learn from their Universal Healthcare Care programme. It's called learning! https://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general/1622114/ rvp20182: |
People eat GDP in Nigeria! Joseph Stiglitz, the Columbia University economist (a Nobel Prize laureate who once taught at the University of Nairobi), calls it GDP fetishism (probably for a lack of better word). Google about 'GDP FETISHISM' Justnotyou: |
No problem.I just don't know of what lessons we could learn from Nigeria.Even from the oil and gas sector, you can't take lessons from Nigeria. We have a MOU with Algeria though on that sector! I can understand why we trusted Algiers more than Abuja! ![]() http://www.algerianembassy.co.ke/index.php/algeria-kenya-relations vaxx:

I don't know yet but from the engagements the Kenyan Gov't has had with Nigeria since independence,it may suffice to say that we've learned from each other something! Why don't you google! ![]() vaxx: |

Simple logic,if someone is better in you in a certain trade-go learn from him! ![]() The Zambians were in Kenya to learn how we have managed to ensure every textbook per child policy is implemented. Our books publishing sector according to pwc report in electronic and media revenues were worth 40 million US dollars(2017) and is second best in SubSaharan Africa to South Africa.Nigeria revenue totals were 30 million USD(2017). In Zambia, one textbook is shared by almost five pupils. In research, that is how you go about it,YOU LEARN FROM THOSE WHO ARE AHEAD OF YOU IN SOMETHING. It's pretty normal for nations to learn from each other- Kazikazi

We also did learn the same from Rwanda. Our policy makers toured the BRT projects of both Tanzania and Ethiopia so as to learn how they do it,in the end we settled for the Bogota City BRT model in Columbia. If Burundi emerges as best in banana farming or say mobile money,we will also learn from them. Our own IEBC toured Ghana to see how elections can be run effectively,we toured Mozambique to learn about their mineral industry,we will tour Seychelles and seek to partner with them because they have a good and a robust tourism industry. We will learn from everyone! We are learning from Djibouti how they manage to export meat and animal products and in the process earn a lot of foreign exchange.Uhuru's Jubilee party wanted to learn from CCM and ANC parties on how they have managed to stay relevant in so many years in the political sphere. We are learning from everybody.Don't get carried away! If Tanzania is good in cashew nuts farming, fishing or anything we will go and learn from them! Kazikazi: |
It's us.Ethiopia passed Kenya in real GDP by about 2 billion dollars when they were announced as the largest economy in EA (In GDP terms). Using the current exchange rate of the birr to the dollar,Kenya takes the mantle of being the largest economy in East and Central Africa! This are the IMF projections which are lower than our own treasury's projection but we will take them as they present a neutral standpoint! ranch2000:

I thought they'd be making crazy cash from their entertainment industry,I was actually wrong! ![]() We produce fewer movies which most get global appreciation.South Africa's E and M industry is unmatched,Nigeria isn't that big as they put it.Kenyans stuff might not be that popular to many, but we make the third highest revenues in Sub Saharan Africa! A tale of a Nigerian Minister! ![]() https://www.nairaland.com/4986102/raila-odinga-mocked-nigeria-over/1 https://www.nairaland.com/newpost?topic=3327789 ''KENYAN politician Raila Odinga has often narrated an amusing tale. He says a transport minister from an African country was invited to visit Malaysia. He enjoyed a tour of Kuala Lumpur, marvelling at the glitzy capital’s impressive infrastructure. In the evening, the Malaysian transport minister treated the African minister to a sumptuous dinner in his magnificent mansion. “My brother, this is a fabulous mansion. How did you manage to get such a residence?” asked the African minister. Without batting an eyelid, the Malaysian host took the visiting dignitary to the balcony and, pointing into the distant cityscape, replied: “Do you see those fantastic roads, there?” The African nodded. “Ten percent of the project money came into my pocket.” A year later, it was the turn of the African minister to reciprocate. So, the Malaysian minister was taken on a tour of the African nation’s capital city, full of potholed roads and decaying infrastructure. In the evening, they went to the African minister’s palatial mansion for dinner. The Malaysian visitor asked rather curiously: “My brother, how did you get such a wonderful palace?” Without skipping a beat, the African minister took the visitor to the balcony and, pointing into the distance, replied: “You see all those new roads there?” The Malaysian minister was puzzled, he could not see any new roads. The African minister continued: “100% of the money for roads came to me.” |

Both aren't complex either than reattaching a cut off limb! Kazikazi: |
A policy just on paper, your government isn't keen on implementing it! Kazikazi: |
Your government sold him raw nuts, raw nuts. The government is also looking for other potential buyers. The dollar is pounding hard the Tanzanian shilling. You desperately need foreign exchange! Your local companies don't have the capacity to process all the cashew nuts you produce! Kazikazi: |
They will say its for whites! If someone is bred and born in a country,he/she is citizen of that country-Nigerians don't get this. They can't decipher citizenship/nationality from race! ranch2000: |
South Africa, 2017 (US$ millions) Total E&M revenue 9 799 Nigeria, 2017 (US$ millions) Total E&M revenue 3 761 Kenya, 2017 (US$ millions) Total E&M revenue 1 655 This are the total Entertainment and Media revenues.Nigeria's numbers are just 2.2 times larger than Kenya's despite a GDP AND A POPULATION four times bigger.Nigeria should look at South Africa's numbers and then ask themselves why that big GDP of theirs isn't bringing in more revenues. That pretty much tells you that a big GDP is nothing to be much proud of,they should have beaten SA because their GDP is bigger than theirs!
