You couldn't say it more correct than this.Year by year, they always base their budget estimate going by the global oil prices! rvp20182: And most of it from oil..just add 2b from 36 states IGR..and add 1b for Kenya..and you'll see they collect less money than Kenya. |

I'm still waiting for the amount of revenues that their exchequer collected in 2017! I want to see if it's 5 times more than ours! rvp20182: Okay how much profit did Nigeria banks make in 2017.We already settled the banking asset at approximately 40b to 100b.Let see total profit made by your banks. |

Bring the totals then.Is that so hard? 68816419: Do even know the differences BTW states IGR and Federal government generated revenues ? |

What do you mean by this? Of course we have a corruption problem,is that a surprise?Leaders do steal,we don't have 100% transparency,I'm sorry if you didn't know that. Going back to the revenues debate, let's talk about that! How much was federal plus state revenues in Nigeria 2017? 68816419: yeah, I so much love honest Kenyans, they say the truth unlike these "paid foreign" Kenyans on Nairaland . |

Just give me the totals! I don't want pictures or tables! 68816419: should first analyse what our states generated in half year information and then compare it the 27b ksh your country generated for a year , before furthering to what the federal government gets . |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Jonraid(m): 10:08am On Nov 30, 2018 |
So what were your total figures for 2017?! 68816419: understand this figure bellow and compare it what the whole of kenya counties generated which around 65billions naira at most.
"The 47 counties collected a total of Sh24.7 billion between July 2016 and March this year compared to Sh25.9 billion realised over a similar period a year earlier, data by the Treasury shows."
Mind you these are states IGR not federal revenues. |

So,they don't have a strong insurance sector? No wonder their life expectancy is at 55 years! rvp20183: Ours is second to RSA - who are far ahead. Nigeria is still a primitive yam based economy. |

Nothing to see from Nigeria's financial sector beyond banks! How is their insurance industry fairing? rvp20183: Yes if our financial sector is starting to kick arse - M-pesa transacted about 45B dollars last year. |

Add mobile money which has made banks pretty useless! We must have the best SACCO industry in Africa if I'm not wrong? But SA has lately been giving us the run for our own money.I was baffled when I heard that Unaitas SACCO had assets worth 3.5 billion US dollars back in 2014! https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/Stima--Unaitas-top-saccos-/539552-2432860-format-xhtml-r4sngtz/index.html rvp20183: 40 versus 101 - simple maths - 2.5 times larger than kenya - when you have 4 times our population - we don't even factor our Africa leading Co-operative movements with our SACCOs controlling billions & thriving micro-finance sector.
2) I am not sure what you mean by revenues - if you meant profitability - then On average Kenyan banks have been more efficient than Nigerian banks - more profitable. |

To cut it short What was your government's revenues for 2017 in billion US dollars? Let's see if your treasury benefits from those 'five times more sectorial revenues' that you get! forgiveness: He is telling you CIA agent is not a regulatory body. Simple and short. |

I'm not surprised to say the least. That's what I expected from Nigeria! Their GDP has been a lie all along! You just can't doubt South Africa's numbers, they speak for themselves! rvp20183: Their entire banking assets - meaning all deposits & loans - is not even 100B dollars - compared to 41B in kenya as of 2017. That should tell you their economy is puny unless their service sector is running on Naira stored under mattress. South Africa has 370B - just one Standard Bank alone has more assets than all Nigeria bank(140B)- First Rand(80), NEDBank(70). That is the kind of economy they are telling us they are already at |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Jonraid(m): 7:05am On Nov 30, 2018 |
It is easy for them to say that we are 5 times more than Kenya from sector to sector. The thing should be,how much does their treasury collect from all those sectors? How much money is in Nigeria's piggy-bank at the end of each year? That should end the debate! Have a look! https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/fields/2056.htmlrvp20183: Trying to square circles huh? I mean since you discovered you needed to be 4 times larger than kenya and at least 5 times larger to be better - you're now desperately trying to force figures. This is hilarious. But don't give up - Yemi Kale is looking for creative genius like you so he can continue lying to Nigeria that they are Africa biggest economy - when everyone knows that is BS.
The reality is you service sector is at best twice as large as kenya. You economy should be around 180-200B now (it used to be 150B before Yemi Kale famously rebased it to the moon) - way lower than Algeria - leave alone Egypt & South Africa.
That is why you total state + federal budget is 40B dollars compared to kenya national & county budget of nearly 33-35B dollars. You can cook GDP - but you cannot cook the money that goes to gov coffers. The economy that is five times larger than Kenya should generate five times more revenues/taxes/jobs etc!
To complete this herculean task...I want you to also claim your total gov revenue is 35*5=170B taxes. Then go claim your job as Nigerian General Statistician. They need such terrific talents. |

He has not yet done that,I guess he'll do it soon. Djibouti and Kenya are visa free,SA gets visa on arrival and the rest of the continent needs visas to get in.Abiy seems a good fella,he is liberalizing Ethiopia which was long overdue,I wish nothing but the best for the guy! rvp20183: I think new PM has lifted visa for all africans. That guy seem more progressive than the intelligent Meles Zenawi. We need to seize the opportunity presented by the new PM - and enter into bilateral trade deals - If Ethiopia opens it's private sector - telcoms/banking - kenya companies can move in - I think only flower companies did move but forex problems soon made it impossible. |

Only Djiboutians and Kenyans are exempted of Visa when going to Ethiopia.I wonder if there are Kenyans there.Just never heard of stories of Kenyans from Djibouti or Ethiopia! One of the reasons why Kenya doesn't interact much with Ethiopia is due to a lesser developed Southern Ethiopia and Northern Kenya! https://www.visaopenness.org/rvp20183: Africa Visa Openness - Kenya moves 6 places to join top 10. Only two African countries require VISA to visit kenya now (South Africa as retaliation for their visa requirements) - with majority granted visa on arrival
Nigeria - the so called GIANT OF AFRICA - requires 35 countries in Africa to have VISA before visiting their shithole. https://www.visaopenness.org/ |
