Getting cheaper power from a 700 million dollar investment that you didn't contribute much is a great thing.It is time to EMBRACE PPP(Public Private Partnerships).Monies that could have been otherwise used to build such a plant is instead channelled towards other critical uses.Only the sane can get my point!

This building is historic.It was built way back. Nigerians are building new buildings which are just boxy and not much thought out on their design side.

76 housing units? Is this a SACCO project?

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the National Housing Programme, has delivered on its promise to provide housing for its teeming population, 76 Housing Units of Three, Two and One Bedroom Flats in Lokoja, Kogi State.

Engr. Valentine Nwaimo, Zonal Director, National Housing Programme (NHP) North Central zone, Federal Ministry of Power Works and Housing, made this
known when the Ministry embarked on a Media Tour of all the Housing units within the Programme in the North central zone to ascertain the level of progress of work.

Engr. Nwaimo said 76 units have been fully completed within the estate, its road infrastructure was at a 100% completion, Electricity 93% while Water supply was at 53% Nevertheless, the whole building works would be delivered by March, 2019. This was part of Governments’ efforts at ameliorating housing deficits experienced within the country, he said.

On how to access the buildings, Engr. Nwaimo said the Ministry will make public modalities for purchase as soon as it was finalized. While the 2nd Phase of the project would kick off as soon as necessary paper works have gone through Due Process and land allocations have been concluded, he added.

Speaking with Pressmen, Arc. Hajara Enesi Team Leader/ Controller of NHP, Kogi State described the opportunities made available to the indigenes in the area of artisanry, food and water vending, supply of building materials etc.

Arc Enesi stated that over 5000 Nigerians were engaged for skilled and unskilled labour while the project lasted. She said the ripple effect has brought development to the whole area which was known for nefarious activities before now and in turn advanced the economy as a whole.

Arc. Enesi added that all materials used on the project were locally sourced within the state in line with the Presidential Executive Order 5 meant to improve local content and free up job opportunities for Nigerians.

I like the Chinese,they get it done! Give them a project and they will get it done.Even BECHTEL no matter how big it is,it can't say anything to CRBC! CRBC would have delivered those two dams! This is not fanboyism it is just stating facts!

It speaks volumes when the UK,Russia or many other developed countries think of giving Huawei 5G network installation tenders.Chinese are just good at getting things done at a decent price.The Chinese have their faults but just go through this Olympic ceremony,you can get why they are a brilliant lot! These are the folks you should count them when giving out tenders!

KURA messed up here big time. Nigerians roads are like enterprise.1km take forever. There is expressway called Lagos - Ibandan.It's been under construction since 1970s - and it far from completion. Distance of 150kms or about. I read there is even a town now named after the contractor .

I thought we were thro such kind of mess. Obviously Jubilee have allowed corruption to creep back. Look at the mess at dams...who hell give those shitty Italians contracts. Now they've filled for bankruptcy after pocketing nearly 1B DOLLARS kenya money

If I could degree - I would EXCLUSIVELY give Chinese, Koreans and Chinese contractors all international contracts. The problem when EU or WB insert themselves in a project - they are going to bring along doggy European contractors. This Nigerian is special case of stupid.

I hear Isreal is investing Nigerians and SBI - for corruption in kenya - so obviosuly some of them can go to jail.
