Boko Haram fighters have stolen a large amount of money from the Nigerian military following an ambush on a logistics convoy on Friday morning, PREMIUM TIMES has learnt.

One soldier was also wounded in the attack.

Soldiers of Nigerian Army Super Camp 3 and the 231 Battalion — both under Sector 2 Operation Lafiya Dole — were moving supplies from Damaturu, Yobe State, to Biu, Borno State, when they drove into a Boko Haram pitfall around Azare-Kamuya end of the highway at about 9:00 a.m., military sources said.

A fierce firefight that followed left at least one soldier wounded and large military equipment destroyed. A gun truck for the 231 Battalion was seized by the insurgents and taken away.

They also made away with N15,492,000 in ration cash allowance for soldiers on the frontlines. At N1,000 per day, the amount can cover allowances of 20,000 troops for a week.

I'm joking. All in all, both the South Africans and the Nigerians need to sit down. The machete fights would profit them nothing. The criminal Nigerians should be deported or made to face trial and not the other way round.

But then again, there is a problem in Nigeria. Didn't the FBI round up at least more than 80 Nigerians suspected to be engaging in cyber crime? Mind you that this was just a week ago!

I also genuinely think that Nigerians should take a keen look at themselves. They have tainted their image globally.If it's not SA,then it's in the UK,Saudi Arabia,USA, Malaysia and God knows where !

Some are scammers and Criminals but I have never in my life heard xenophobic attack in Kenya. Instead you deport the bad ones and leave the good ones. Or you rather take them to police.

I might not be the biggest fan of Nigeria and Nigerians but I believe that fairness must prevail. The criminal Nigerians shouldn't be generalized with the majority who are non-criminal.In Kenya,we deport foreign criminals,we don't kill or beat them up on the streets.
