Here is a picture of the ongoing construction of the Olkaria -lessos -Kisumu transition line that's composed of 2 sections, section 1, 213km 400kv Olkaria -Lessos line and Section 2 is the 77km 220Kv Lessos -Kisumu line.
Construction of the Line is on course. The Line will evacuate Geothermal power from Olkaria to west Kenya.
Just like you said,no more electricity imports from Uganda. The Kenya-Uganda line would be reduced to serving only when there is an emergency! rvp20183,rvp2018

21ksh ?That's so expensive for instance if you consider the amount KPLC buys per unit even from the expensive thermal power right here in Kenya! rvp2018: Isimba added I think 180MW - the big one is coming Karuma dam up will add 600MW. Obviously if they export it to kenya - they will makes tonnes of money - they charge crazy figure of 21kshs per unit! And I think Jinja still pretty much supply many parts of Western Kenya - after Turkwell which can generate 100MW plus was shutdown and Sondu Miiru doesn't have a dam - so it basically works on during rainy season - and they relie on Jinja & Diesel Generator. KETRACO is on the race to connect Naivasha Geothermal to Uganda..and then Uganda has to find another market for it's power.
Anyway one wishes that Africa was connected - South Africa need power - Nigeria need power - Uganda would sell their excess 1,000MW to them. |

They sell anything here! XhosaNostra: Is it?
Here they never got into cellphone business. They only sold clothes & the quality wasn't the best but it was okay. Now they're into grocery shops, mostly trading in the townships & villages. People complain that they sell expired food & stale bread, which they steam to fool people into thinking it's fresh. TBH, that's where all these xenophobic attacks start, in the townships, over small things like that. |

''Just because it was cheap you was out there smelling like a ass'' (In my Black American's accent) XhosaNostra: Yeah because they were cheaper than what we were used to. I remember I had tekkies (sneakers) with flashing lights on the soles. I was in love with them lol. They were selling a lot novelty stuff. Something different & new. One of the reasons we bought them even though they stank |

Are they new or used clothes? If the clothes are new and they have a pungent smell, then I have no idea! XhosaNostra: I know what you're talking about, but what I mean is something else lol. Have you ever smelled clothes from India? IDK if it's the dye they use or what, but the clothes have a distinct, unpleasant smell. The two scents are similar. |

They have this perfume that they like to use.I'm used to it cause I study with so many of them! XhosaNostra: It was help with strings attached, I presume. I blame our leaders, TBH. South Africans never got a chance to relax so to speak. I still remember the 1st few immigrants that came to S.A. In my town it was the Somalis & they were selling fong kong clothes on the streets. We were asking ourselves who these people were & where they came from. Before we never had people selling things on the side of the street. Everything was best. That was the 1st puzzling thing about the whole situation. 2ndly, they looked & smelled funny . People used to buy the cheap clothes from them, arrive home & give the clothes a good wash to remove the "foreign smell". Anyway as they say, the rest is history. The changes have not been fully accepted until now. It was too much, too fast imo. |

The cyclone experienced in the Mozambican channel is tied to the current drought in KenyaQuoting The Star https://www.the-star.co.ke/news/2019-03-22-hot-sunny-patterns-to-persist-for-five-days-weatherman/''The sunny weather being experienced in most parts of the country will persist for the next five days, the Kenya Meteorological Department has said. Temperatures will hit a high of 32 degrees in Nairobi and up to 41 degrees in Mandera. In Lodwar ,Samburu and Turkana, temperatures will reach highs of 40.5 ,40, 40 degrees respectively. In a statement signed by the acting director of the Kenya Meteorological Department Stella Aura, the weatherman indicates the coastal strip will experience highs of between 23 to 33 degrees. The five-day forecast, however, says that Lake and Rift Valley regions will receive light rains in the afternoon to enhanced rainfall with thunderstorm in the evening. The chart shows Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kiambu and Laikipia are among the counties that will receive light rains in the afternoon for the next five days. On March 19, the meteorological department warned that the long rains may be delayed until early next month. The weatherman blamed a tropical cyclone that caused in havoc in Mozambique last week, for sucking in moisture that would have resulted in rains for Kenya. Aura said Kenyans will see some rain-forming clouds from next week. The rains might come late next week but most probably in the first week of April, she told the press at KMD offices. She warned that more cyclones developing in the Mozambican channel could disrupt the rains in Kenya and condemn it to a further dry spell.'(End of quote) It looks like the South Eastern monsoon winds can't reach the areas around the ITCZ (Equatorial regions-Kenya sits in the Equator) due to the cyclone in the Mozambique gulf, the moisture ladened monsoon winds movement is disrupted by the cyclone. The winds are a necessary ingredient in the rainfall making process. This means more days of sunshine in most parts of Kenya! |

I heard that some of the drought victims told their leaders that they don't need relief food or money but rather water for their animals because it's from them that they get their daily sustenance! Colonial era treaties that prevent Kenya from fully utilising waters from L.Victoria and L.Turkana so as to not disadvantage Egyptians and Ethiopians must be brushed off. rvp2018: Yes there are 6M excess bags of maize that will probably end up in animal feeds. The problem of Baringo-Turkana - is not lack of food - it's gov failure to respond to drought early enough with all the excess food - |

The harvest was bumper that many farmers could not sell their produce to the government silos. The Strategic grain reserve was full,it's a shame that food couldn't reach those who needed it in time.Would be gutted if Uhuru doesn't sack some top cabinet ministers. It's crystal clear that some ministers are stealing a living earning two coma salaries and delivering zero in their mandate! tylann: Flowers in Kenya are grown in naivasha Naivasha is not arable the flowers they are grown in greenhouses and under irrigation The only parts of kenya which are arable there are central not all of it And north rift , kisii ,and western And so far they are growing food which can feed them The people of nyanza are using lake Victoria waters to irrigate they farms Kenya has no food crisis it just poor leadership and corrupt leaders |

Yapping a lot and you aren't even in the top three economies in the SADC! What are your export figures there? You gloat a lot that one may think that Tanzanians are world-beaters in economics yet what your revenue bodies collects from 60 million Tanzanians annually is a paltry 10 billion USD! The drought sweeping through Kenya won't give you any leverage on us! The numbers won't change! Kazikazi: The one who wants to leave can go even today! SADC started decades ago,SADC don't depend on one nation. We formed this community to enhance security and economies of member states, not to worship one late comer

We are not the most affected when it comes to players changing the countries they represent.Hope we just grab this game by the scruff of the neck from the first minute and win it. I'm afraid our little known players may not measure up facing world-beaters in Ghana even though you aren't in good form right now! chrisagyei: Yea,we're all getting fed up with the black stars and they have lost a lot of support. For me personally,I never cared about them.In fact,I wish they never win the upcoming Afcon. You can defeat the black stars with hardwork.Their soul is lost now. They have been clouded with total arrogance especially the senior players who believe are big stars in Europe.Frankly speaking hope you guys win so they get out of their little fantasies. About Origi,it's very sad if your own national decides to reject their home country to represent a 2nd home just for world fame.He will hardly get playing time in the Belgium star studded squad.Goodluck to him. |

The Northern African COUNTRIES ENJOY A MUSLIM MAJORITY but most of them have got their sh*t together.Pastoralists and herders are one of the most difficult mentalities you can deal with! You study it and you'll come back nodding your head! TayserMahri: That is a useless country. I'm shocked the Muslims could be so hellbent on subjugating christian rights at the highest office. I see Fulani stories almost every day. In a normal functioning society the govt would encircle all Fulanis and shoot about 200,000 of them as a lesson. Instead the govt allows them to continue with their wanton killings while the docile Christians watch. Uneducated Muslims like the cattle herders view such wanton killing of Christians as a holy elimination of enemies (the docile Kuffars like Obaboon). So even the uneducated Bubu himself and the govt see it as a nice thing. Now I believe Igbos are the only brave warriors in that caliphate. They will be the first to set other Nigerians free. Without Igbos all the Nigerians would be forcefully turned to Islam. I understand half of Yoruba are Muslim already |
